2. The brief
There was the option to do either some motion graphics about either a cause
that Hay is passionate about, or book quotes from some of their choice
authors. I want to make the animations for quotes as I love books, the quotes
have a lot of potential.
I follow a lot of artsy people and designers on Instagram, a lot of whom use
type in fresh, quirky ways which I love. This would be a good project to try to
mimic those styles in.
3. storyboards
I made some storyboards. Using storyboards for the last project was super
helpful for making animations and visualising them clearly.
10. The type would come on with a typewriter effect. It’s quite simple to do in AE but I find it really
effective. It adds interest to the graphic without drawing too much attention to the effect
itself.
For each different colour word, a new shape in that colour would pop up. They would all wiggle
around.
11. This Shakespeare quote would work well with a little cartoon Cupid shooting arrows across
the screen. There could be an eye which blinks as the words are appearing. I like the idea
of the hearts rotating and floating.
12. This Stephen Fry quote has lots of words which have a lot of potential to be animated literally. I
would make the flowers start growing upwards as the words are ‘typed’. The little spots and
swirls would also appear when a word in their corresponding colours appear on screen.
13. I want to animate a book falling open and the words appearing on its pages.
‘Books mean all possibilities’ will stay on the top and after the words have
appeared on the book, the last line of the quote ‘they mean everything’ would
pop up.
