This document summarizes a crop cluster development programme in Haryana, India. It discusses: 1) The opportunity for fruit and vegetable production given the large nearby market in NCR. Productivity needs to increase from current levels to meet demand. 2) The formation of 218 farmer producer organizations with over 30,000 farmers to strengthen the value chain from farm to market. Infrastructure like packhouses and cold storage is being developed. 3) Projects to professionalize production and marketing through crop clustering, infrastructure investments, and market linkages and reforms to ensure farmers receive fair prices. The multi-phase, $510 million project aims to benefit small farmers through collective action and access to markets.
