The Filipino music industry is currently dominated by foreign music. The top 20 songs on the MYX Hit Chart from April 2012 only featured 4 Filipino artists. Filipino youth also prefer the works of international artists, with 3-4 of their top 5 favorite artists usually being foreign. Based on 2011 sales data, the top-selling albums in the Philippines were also predominantly from international artists such as Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and Taylor Swift rather than Filipino artists. There is a call to revive the "glory days" of original Philippine music (OPM) by promoting more local artists.
