Social Compliances- Code of Conduct-
MBM Garments Limited is a responsible apparel producer and
embodies, both in spirit and practice, internationally established
codes of social accountability and ethical business practices. It
recognizes and respects cultural differences and employs individuals
solely on the basis of their qualification for the job. We identify and
work with suppliers and buyers who as individuals and in the conduct
of their business abide by local laws and have ethical standards
16
compatible to it. The bases of the various parameter that comprise
the code of conduct are drawn from the following-
In the early nineteenth century, clothing was still created by hand, either for the family by
women or for the wealthy by tailors and seamstresses. The early production of ready-to-wear
clothing was motivated by the needs of sailors, slaves, and miners. The early ready-to-wear
business laid the framework for the sector's huge expansion and mechanization, despite the fact
that it was still hand-made. From the 1860s to the 1880s, the ready-to-wear industry grew for
Clothing was still made by hand in the early nineteenth century, whether for the family by
women or for the rich by tailors and seamstresses. The demands of sailors, slaves, and miners
drove the early development of ready-to-wear clothes. Despite the fact that it was still hand-
made, the early ready-to-wear industry lay the groundwork for the sector's massive development
and mechanization. The ready-to-wear business expanded for a multitude of causes from the
1860s through the 1880s.
One factor was the rise of mechanization. Furthermore, the US Army established procedures for
measuring men's and boys' clothes based on millions of measurements during the Civil War.
Women's apparel sizing guidelines were soon developed as well.
During the 1873 Great Depression, men discovered that off-the-rack clothes were a satisfactory
and less expensive alternative to custom-made apparel, fostering the growth and popularity of
men's ready-to-wear. During the 1870s downturn, the production of ready-made men's trousers
or "pants," independent from suits, was expanded, allowing men to supplement their outfit
without having to buy a whole suit. However, in general, the rapid growth of the ready-to-wear
industry in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries corresponded with, and was partly a
result of, substantial urbanization and a massive inflow of immigrants to the United States. Rapid
development was also evident in industrial areas like Cleveland, where the ready-to-wear
garment industry prospered at the time.
Bangladesh's textile industry has been at the center of the trade vs. assistance debate.
Encouragement of Bangladesh's garment sector as an open trading system is thought to be a
significantly more effective form of assistance than foreign aid. Bangladesh's ready-made
garments (RMG) industry entrepreneurs have benefited from quotas under the WTO's
Agreement on Textiles and Apparel (ATC) and Everything But Arms (EBA), as well as the US's
2009 Tariff Relief Assistance in the global apparel market.
Despite employing 45 percent of Bangladesh's industrial workforce in 2012, the textile industry
contributed only 5% of the country's overall national income. Following a succession of building
fires and collapses that killed hundreds of employees in Bangladesh, the textile industry and its
17
buyers have come under assault. Many people are worried about possible worker safety
violations and are urging the government to increase safety standards

2.2.1. Objectives:
This report's goal is specific, and I've decided on three of them. My initial goal is to concentrate
on Elegant Group's Marketing Mix (product, pricing, location, and promotion). Another goal is
20
to do a comparison or competitive study among the company's primary competitors. ¾ Elegant
will also be compared to three main competitors.
2.2.2. Scope:
 To know about the Elegant Group marketing mix.
 To learn about the activities that take place in the clothes industry.
ELEGANT GROUP LTD is in the Management of Companies and Enterprises industry and is
based in STAMFORD, United Kingdom. At this location, ELEGANT GROUP LTD employs 2

Jeanologia offers the most cutting-edge laser and eco technologies for fabric and garment
finishing, meeting the market's most pressing demands. Sustainable and efficient technologies
that save a significant quantity of water, energy, and chemicals; pollution-free and disruptive
technologies that remove laborious and hazardous procedures for workers' health.
G2 is the most up-to-date and environmentally friendly ozone textile technology, the product of
15 years of continuous garment finishing industry innovation.
The x-arc generator, designed by our company to be the best match for the G2, takes air from the
atmosphere and converts it to ozone, liberating the particles inside the tumbler to produce results
like removing excess indigo dye or replicating the bleaching effect to give garments the look of
real outdoor use.
All of this is done in a zero-discharge process that uses no water or chemicals and reduces the
number of processes necessary to make denim and knits. As a result, G2 is the only technology
that has been independently validated as both environmentally friendly and safe.
E-Flow technology is a long-term textile solution for transferring chemicals onto any fabric.
Water is traditionally employed as the carrier, and at the end of each cycle, that water, which is
still overflowing with chemical compounds, is discarded.
Jeanologia's game-changing approach was to develop a novel technology in which ambient air is
converted into Nano bubbles, which naturally distribute water and the correct amount of
chemical compounds to produce the Nano bubbles skin. They act as transporters for chemical
compounds, transferring them uniformly onto the clothing.
With e-Flow technology, you can achieve a wide range of finishing effects with the finest
quality, the least quantity of water, and no waste. This is why an independent laboratory has
verified e-Flow technology as environmentally friendly.

Meeting with the persons in charge of production
 Meeting with high-quality individuals and a pattern master
 yearly self-evaluation of success based on the number of buyers handled, shipment
volume, negotiated CM charge, and debit note settled with the supplier:
 Because I work as an assistant merchandiser for Elegant Group Limited, I have a lot of
opportunities to learn new things. During this period, I've worked on a variety of
merchandising-related tasks for the organization.
25
 Fabric swatch card preparation and maintenance
 Scanning papers
 Proper document filling
 Sample follow-up
 Taking photos of samples
 Mail communication
 Collecting production information
 Reporting to concerned supervisor
 Consultation with fabric and accessory suppliers
 Compilation of an accessory list
 Consultation with the buyer and buying houses
Attending a meeting with the production team
 Meetings with high-quality individuals and a pattern master
One of the major issues I encountered during my time there was that sample persons were not
always willing to deal with interns. Another issue was that Elegant did not provide me with any
formal briefing or workshop, making it extremely difficult for me to comprehend the work.
My Recommendation is that management enforce the sample section more strictly, and that they
conduct a formal briefing or a one-day or two-day training prior to the commencement of the
internship program.

  • 16. 16 compatible to it. The bases of the various parameter that comprise the code of conduct are drawn from the following- In the early nineteenth century, clothing was still created by hand, either for the family by women or for the wealthy by tailors and seamstresses. The early production of ready-to-wear clothing was motivated by the needs of sailors, slaves, and miners. The early ready-to-wear business laid the framework for the sector's huge expansion and mechanization, despite the fact that it was still hand-made. From the 1860s to the 1880s, the ready-to-wear industry grew for Clothing was still made by hand in the early nineteenth century, whether for the family by women or for the rich by tailors and seamstresses. The demands of sailors, slaves, and miners drove the early development of ready-to-wear clothes. Despite the fact that it was still hand- made, the early ready-to-wear industry lay the groundwork for the sector's massive development and mechanization. The ready-to-wear business expanded for a multitude of causes from the 1860s through the 1880s. One factor was the rise of mechanization. Furthermore, the US Army established procedures for measuring men's and boys' clothes based on millions of measurements during the Civil War. Women's apparel sizing guidelines were soon developed as well. During the 1873 Great Depression, men discovered that off-the-rack clothes were a satisfactory and less expensive alternative to custom-made apparel, fostering the growth and popularity of men's ready-to-wear. During the 1870s downturn, the production of ready-made men's trousers or "pants," independent from suits, was expanded, allowing men to supplement their outfit without having to buy a whole suit. However, in general, the rapid growth of the ready-to-wear industry in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries corresponded with, and was partly a result of, substantial urbanization and a massive inflow of immigrants to the United States. Rapid development was also evident in industrial areas like Cleveland, where the ready-to-wear garment industry prospered at the time. Bangladesh's textile industry has been at the center of the trade vs. assistance debate. Encouragement of Bangladesh's garment sector as an open trading system is thought to be a significantly more effective form of assistance than foreign aid. • 21. 21 Jeanologia offers the most cutting-edge laser and eco technologies for fabric and garment finishing, meeting the market's most pressing demands. Sustainable and efficient technologies that save a significant quantity of water, energy, and chemicals; pollution-free and disruptive technologies that remove laborious and hazardous procedures for workers' health. G2 is the most up-to-date and environmentally friendly ozone textile technology, the product of 15 years of continuous garment finishing industry innovation. The x-arc generator, designed by our company to be the best match for the G2, takes air from the atmosphere and converts it to ozone, liberating the particles inside the tumbler to produce results like removing excess indigo dye or replicating the bleaching effect to give garments the look of real outdoor use. All of this is done in a zero-discharge process that uses no water or chemicals and reduces the number of processes necessary to make denim and knits. As a result, G2 is the only technology that has been independently validated as both environmentally friendly and safe. E-Flow technology is a long-term textile solution for transferring chemicals onto any fabric. Water is traditionally employed as the carrier, and at the end of each cycle, that water, which is still overflowing with chemical compounds, is discarded. Jeanologia's game-changing approach was to develop a novel technology in which ambient air is converted into Nano bubbles, which naturally distribute water and the correct amount of chemical compounds to produce the Nano bubbles skin. They act as transporters for chemical compounds, transferring them uniformly onto the clothing. With e-Flow technology, you can achieve a wide range of finishing effects with the finest quality, the least quantity of water, and no waste. This is why an independent laboratory has verified e-Flow technology as environmentally friendly. Elegant Group is one of Bangladesh's largest export-oriented garment manufacturers. In Bangladesh, they have 14 wings. Apart from their Showrooms and Marketing team in Dhaka, they have launched a design and communication office in Dubai as part of their on going efforts

Another issue was that Elegant did not provide me with any formal briefing or workshop, making it extremely difficult for me to comprehend the work. My Recommendation is that management enforce the sample section more strictly, and that they conduct a formal briefing or a one-day or two-day training prior to the commencement of the internship program.
