BIO
As President and CEO of NextStep Arthropedix, Gregg draws on over 20 years of orthopedic sales and
management experience. Throughout his career, he has spent countless hours in the operating room. Gregg
has built both direct sales and distributor sales networks. He has worked with surgeons and engineers to
pioneer new orthopedic products as well.
Gregg received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Arizona State University.
Gregg started his orthopedic career in 1995 at Orthofix, Inc., a trauma equipment and bone growth
stimulation company that was entering the US market. He began as a sales representative in Arizona and
quickly became a Regional Manager in the Northwest. Gregg, along with his fellow colleagues, grew this
company to over $100M in sales in seven years. He was the recipient of the “Region Manager of the Year”
two times, and was the recipient of the “Presidents Council Award” five times during his tenure at Orthofix.
Gregg started in the spinal hardware industry in 2002 with a startup company, Eurosurgical, where he grew
the west region from $0 to $10M in sales annually in two years.
Gregg entered his first venture with Theken Companies in 2004 when he joined Theken Spine. At that time,
Theken Spine had two, FDA cleared, spine products, but the company had not yet generated any revenue. As
Western Region VP, Gregg’s contributions led to the company’s rapid growth in overall revenue to over
$60M annually in just four years. He was involved in many aspects of the Theken Spine business, including,
sales force expansion, hospital contracts, forecasting, product development, and marketing. Gregg was
awarded “Employee of the Year” four times. At the end of 2009, Theken Spine was acquired by Integra Life
Sciences. Gregg was involved in the due diligence process and the transitional process, as he worked closely
with the Integra senior management team.
In 2011, Gregg accepted the position as Area Vice President in the orthopedic reconstruction arena with
Medacta International, LLC. He went on to become President of the US Joint and Spine Divisions. The
company experienced significant growth and cost reduction during his tenure. Gregg also worked with
engineers and KOL surgeons to develop the initial spine product portfolio for Medacta International.
In 2013, Gregg was once again contacted by Theken Companies, and he joined the owner, Randy Theken, in
pioneering a start-up orthopedic reconstruction company called NextStep Arthropedix. As President and
CEO, Gregg was involved in all aspects of the business, including, placement and oversight of all department
heads, recruitment of KOL surgeons, product development, FDA regulatory clearances, operations and
inventory management, vendor agreements, hospital and ambulatory surgery center contracts, and sales and
marketing teams. www.nextsteparthropedix.com
Gregg’s hard work ethic comes from his passion for success. He has travelled extensively throughout his
career in order to build revenue and strengthen key relationships. Gregg welcomes the opportunity to
engage in a company where he can make a difference by working with a dedicated management team, hiring
key personnel, growing sales revenues, introducing new technologies, and increasing stakeholders’ value.
