This seminar explores the question of whether multinational corporations are a force for environmental sustainability in developing countries. The paper argues that although MNCs have the potential to contribute to sustainable development, their actual environmental impact largely depends upon the degree to which their activities are regulated. Given the huge environmental control costs and the profit-minded nature of MNCs, industry self-regulation is unlikely to be effective where it conflicts with the primary objectives of multinationals. Thus, to turn MNCs into a more positive force for sustainable development, voluntary initiatives must, by virtual necessity, be combined with effective regulatory mechanisms.

3. ABSTRACT
This paper explores the question of whether multinational corporations
are a force for environmental sustainability in developing countries.
The paper argues that although MNCs have the potential to contribute
to sustainable development, their actual environmental impact largely
depends upon the degree to which their activities are regulated. Given
the huge environmental control costs and the profit-minded nature of
MNCs, industry self-regulation is unlikely to be effective where it
conflicts with the primary objectives of multinationals. Thus, to turn
MNCs into a more positive force for sustainable development,
voluntary initiatives must, by virtual necessity, be combined with
effective regulatory mechanisms.

6. INTRODUCTION
• Green computing, green ICT as per International Federation of Global
& Green ICT “IFGICT”, green IT, or ICT sustainability, is the study and
practice of environmentally sustainable computing or IT.
• The goals of green computing are similar to green chemistry: reduce
the use of hazardous materials, maximize energy efficiency during
the product’s lifetime, the recyclability or biodegradability of defunct
products and factory waste.
• Many corporate IT departments have green computing initiatives to
reduce the environmental effect.

10. Green Computing is an incredibly used technologies in todays
world. Green computing is eco-friendly use of technology and
their resources. In MNCs it is widely used , as it is energy
efficient and by use of this we can save our environment by
harmful radiation and disease caused by technologies.
11. CONCLUSIONS
After this Seminar project we came to acknowledge
about Green Computing and how Green Computing is
useful in MNCs especially IT sectors. The main point
is that how Green Computing can help us for better
and beautiful Future and the development of Green
Computing itself .
