2. WHAT IS GREEN BUILDING
A Green Building, also known as a sustainable building
refers to a structure and using process that is
environmentally responsible and resource efficient
throughout a building's life-cycle from siting to design,
construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and
demolition.
It is a building which uses less water, optimises energy
efficiency, conserves natural resources, generates less
waste and provides healthier spaces for occupants, as
compared to a conventional building.
4. OBJECTIVES OF GREEN BUILDING
Protecting occupant health
Improving employee productivity
Using energy, water and other resources more
efficiently
Reducing overall impact to the environment
Optimal environmental and economic performance
Satisfying and quality indoor spaces
Using eco-friendly and regionally available
construction materials
5. GREEN ARCHITECTURE
Taking an intelligent approach to energy
Safeguarding water resources
Minimizing waste and maximizing reuse
Promoting health and wellbeing
Keeping environmental green
Creating resilient and flexible structure
Connecting communities and people
Considering all stages of a green building’s life-cycle
