Olympians vs. Non-Olympians Who are the Olympians? The Olympians are a group of 12 gods and goddesses who live on Mount Olympus. All of the Olympians are related to one another. Non-Olympians All the other gods who are the descendents of these 12. Quit
Zeus Zeus is the ruler of all the other gods and goddesses. He is the god of the sky and the rain. His brothers are Poseidon and Hades. He is married to Hera but has had many affairs.  Quit
Apollo Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto.  He has a twin sister named Artemis. He helped defeat Achilles. He is the god of music, healing, light, and truth. Quit
Athena She is the daughter of Zeus who was born out of his forehead wearing complete armor. She is the goddess of crafts, domestic arts, and wisdom. She was very skilled in battle. She invented many things including: the trumpet, the flute, the ship, the rake, etc. She was Zeus’ favorite daughter. Quit
Aphrodite She is the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. She was either born out of sea-foam or from Zeus and Dione. She had a magical girdle that made anyone she wanted fall in love with her. She also played a role in the cause of the Trojan War. Quit
Poseidon He is the god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses. He is the brother of Zeus and Hades. He married the sea nymph Amphitrite. He often took the shape of a steed. Quit
Hades The brother of Zeus. He is the lord of the Underworld and god of wealth. He is very greedy and never lets anyone leave the underworld. He is married to Persephone, to whom he abducted. Quit
Hercules He is only ½ god. His father was Zeus and his mother was a mortal. He is a major Greek hero. He rescued many damsels in distress. He fought bravely to save Mount Olympus against the Giants. Was forced to go on “12 Labors” to pay for the murders he committed.  Quit
Ares He is the son of Zeus and Hera. He is the god of war. However, he was defeated by Hercules. He is considered a murderer and a coward. He was caught in an act of adultery with Aphrodite. Quit
