2. Subject/Predicate review: Subject: tells who or what the sentence is about. Ex. Miss Holly loves to eat chocolate. Ex. Every ICS studentis at home today. Predicate: tells something about the subject, often an action. Ex. My dog keeps licking my toes, Ex. The animals at the zoo escaped and caused chaos in the city. A simple sentence has one subject and one predicate.
3. Run-ons and fragments…help!!! A run-on sentence: has at least two subjects AND two predicates. A sentence fragment: is either missing a subject OR a predicate (not a complete thought). Now, turn to page 71 of your book (or use the linked document) and rewrite the paragraph shown correctly.
