3. GOT A CRUSH ON SOMEONE
•At some point in life, a young
person gets a crush on
another. They get crushes on
their classmates, teachers,
movie stars, sports idols, or
students in the upper grades.
4. WHAT DO MANY CRUSHES HAVE IN
COMMON?
•Most of the time, the objects of
the crush are unattainable. The
age gap or difference in social
status may be a reason for
incompatibility. The highly
admired movie stars or sports
heroes may be impossible to
meet in person.
5. • Crushes on unattainable
people are healthy and
normal as long as the
feelings do not become an
obsession. Young people
should just enjoy their
secret feelings. The
crushes of both boys and
girls are a fun and safe
way for them to explore
their emerging sexuality.
6. WHAT IS RESPONSIBLE
PARENTHOOD?
• Parenthood is the expected
next phrase after marriage.
To have children and be
able to raise them with love
and care, educate them
with proper values, and
provide them with support in
all aspects of life comprise
parenthood.
7. • Parenthood is one of the most important duties in our
society. Responsible parents raise children and support
not only their financial needs but also their moral and
educational needs. Responsible parents also influence
their children`s values and give them love and care. To
become responsible individuals, children need parental
guidance as they grow up and develop themselves.
Indeed, parenthood is in general a natural outcome of
marriage. A healthy marriage is generally the result after
a responsible man and woman went through dating and
courtship stages, decided to marry, and build a family.
9. DATING
• Is an activity in which
people get to know
another person better.
It is also a way for
people to acquire
social and
interpersonal skills.
10. GROUP DATING
• Is a way to practice social skills.
Many teens find it more fun and
relaxed than going out on date
with just one person. Dating may
be done with a group. When you
go out with your friends
(sometimes called barkada) in
school, in the church, or house ,
city parks, town plaza, or
shopping mall for relaxation.
11. • Those who finish their college studies and
could be considered emotionally and
financially stable usually proceed to an
exclusive kind of dating. This means they
date only one person, and both are focused
on establishing a serious relationship.
• The main purpose of dating is to determine
compatibility between two people.
Compatibility predicts the success and
happiness of a marriage.
12. COURTSHIP
• This is the stage in which a
man and a woman continue
to get to know each other
better in preparation for a
possible long- term
commitment. This provides an
opportunity for both to
determine if companionship
could be sustained over a
period of time without
becoming boring or filled with
conflict.
13. COURTSHIP IN THREE STAGES
1. DATING – The main
purpose is to get
acquainted and enjoy
social activities with
members of the
opposite sex to develop
skills in a boy – girl
relationship.
14. SERIOUS COURTSHIP
2. SERIOUS
COURTSHIP – The field
of dating has narrowed
to one or two persons,
and for the purpose of
selection of the
marriage partner.
16. WHY IS COURTSHIP AND DATING IMPORTANT
IN CHOOSING A LIFELONG PARTNER?
• A boy or a girl does not need to hurry to be in
a relationship. There are many sad stories of
young people getting into teenage marriages
because of untimely pregnancy. Young people
need to understand that if they would like to be
in a relationship. They need to really know
each other`s personalities first, and this could
be done through regular meetings or dating.
17. • Courtship gives time to better know the
character and background of someone
being considered as one`s future lifetime
partner. It determines if one can get along
with each other with minimal conflicts.
• It is during courtship that a man and a
woman can see the suitability and
compatibility of each other as partner`s. It is
when they get to know each other
thoroughly that they can be in a better
position to decide whether to continue their
relationship.
18. • Later in life, when both are
sure of themselves and their
decisions, they can choose to
get engaged. It is then that
they can plan the kind of
marriage they would like to
have, the number of children
they will have, and the ways
they would like to deal with
each other at home.
• Courtship allows the couple to
lay down a foundation for a
well- planned marriage.
20. •Social skills and communication
skills help you get along well
with people in various social
situations. Good and strong
relationships can be developed
if you develop the following
skills:
22. 1. You know how to show respect for another person.
You respect his or her identity, values, beliefs, and
family. This ability to accept other people and not
discriminate against others makes you more
trustworthy.
2. Showing good manners and being polite, kind, and
considerate are also ways that people will like you
more.
3. Showing empathy or the ability to feel the emotion
of others is one way to understand what people
are going through. People will trust you if they feel
that you are genuinely concerned about their well-
being.
24. 1. You know how to LISTEN WELL and without
interrupting others.
2. You use RESPECTFUL WORDS. You don`t call
people names.
3. You don`t gossip or talk behind someone`s back.
4. You know how to settle conflict when communication
gaps occur. You don`t yell at each other.
5. You know how to agree on responsible solutions to
settle conflicts.
6. You know when to seek advice from trusted adults.
26. MARRIAGE- is
defined as the most
committed male-
female relationship. It
is also a legal contract
held together by
bonds of intimacy
and sharing.

31. • Art. 52. Marriage is not a mere contract but an inviolable social institution.
Its nature, consequences and incidents are governed by law and not
subject to stipulation, except that the marriage settlements may to a
certain extent fix the property relations during the marriage. (n)
• Art. 53. No marriage shall be solemnized unless all these requisites are
complied with:
• (1) Legal capacity of the contracting parties;
• (2) Their consent, freely given;
• (3) Authority of the person performing the marriage; and
• (4) A marriage license, except in a marriage of exceptional character (Sec.
1a, Art. 3613).
32.
33. Monogamy is defined as marriage with only
one person at a time or the practice of having
only one mate. It is the only legal form of
marriage in the United States, and we may
take it for granted as the standard mating
system. In other cultures, however, it is quite
common to have multiple wives and/or
husbands.
34. Polygamy is defined as a marriage in
which one spouse (man or woman)
has several other spouses. The most
common form of polygamy is when a
man has more than one wife.
35. Polygyny, marriage in which two or more
women share a husband. Sororal polygyny, in
which the co-wives are sisters, is often the
preferred form because sisters are thought to
be more mutually supportive and less
argumentative than non-siblings.
36. Polyandry, marriage of a woman to two or
more men at the same time; the term
derives from the Greek polys, “many,” and
anēr, andros, “man.” When the husbands in
a polyandrous marriage are brothers or are
said to be brothers, the institution is called
adelphic, or fraternal, polyandry.
