Authors like Goethe and Byron idealized the vision of natural landscapes

Here the word Gothic was Repurposed to describe a literary genre that

The term was first applied by Horace Walpole to his own 1764 novel

10. Gothic Fashion
Gothic fashion is a clothing style marked by dark, mysterious, antiquated and homogeneous features.
It is worn by members of the Goth subculture. dress, typical gothic fashion includes dyed black hair, dark lipstick and
dark clothing.
Both male and female goths can wear dark eyeliner and dark nail polish - most often black. Male goths use
cosmetics at a higher rate than other men.
Styles are often borrowed from the punk fashion, Victorians and Elizabethans.
Goth fashion is sometimes confused with heavy metal fashion and emo fashion.

Punk - Punk rock is a music genre that emerged in the mid-1970s. Rooted in 1960s garage rock, punk bands
rejected the perceived excesses of mainstream 1970s rock.
Death rock - Death rock is a rock music subgenre incorporating horror elements and gothic theatrics. It emerged
from punk rock on the West Coast of the United States in the early 1980s and overlaps with the gothic rock and
horror punk genres.
Romantic Goth Romantic Goth is a goth style influenced by the fashion of the Romantic Era (1800-1850) as well as
modern goth styles. Romantic Goth is seen as a relatively lighter, happier form of Goth, with an emphasis on
romance and expressing themselves through art.
Cyber Goth - Cybergoth is a subculture that derives from elements of goth, raver, rivethead and cyberpunk fashion.
Opinion differs as to whether cybergoth has the requisite complexity to constitute a subculture, with some
commentators suggesting that it is no more than a small aesthetic variation on cyberpunk or raver fashion.
