The Life and Ministry of the Apostle Paul, part 9: Lessons from Paul in PrisonPacific Church
Paul is imprisoned for preaching about Jesus. He recounts his past persecution of Christians before his conversion, when Jesus appeared to him on the road to Damascus and called him to spread the gospel to both Jews and Gentiles. Though now in prison, Paul remains focused on completing the mission Jesus gave him of testifying to God's grace, and urges others to store up treasures in heaven rather than on earth.
1) Nehemiah's enemies, Sanballat and Geshem, tried to lure him away from rebuilding the wall by inviting him to a meeting, hoping to harm him. However, Nehemiah refused as he was focused on the important work.
2) When their attempts to distract Nehemiah failed, his enemies resorted to writing him a false letter in an attempt to scare him. But Nehemiah confronted their accusations.
3) Nehemiah remained determined not to give in to fear or flee from his duties. Through God's strength, he persevered and completed rebuilding the wall despite the opposition's efforts to stop the important work.
This document discusses how God pursues a continuing love relationship with humanity that is personal and real. It notes that God is defined by love and has no competitors for our devotion, as shown through sending his son as a sacrifice for our sins. While God's love can be difficult for some to believe, the story of Hagar illustrates how even in her despair, God saw her and provided for her needs. The document encourages readers to pursue knowing God better by looking for where he is at work each day and participating in spiritual growth opportunities.
The document summarizes key biblical passages related to God's missionary purpose. It discusses the Great Commission in Matthew and Luke, which involve making disciples of all nations and seeking and saving the lost. It also references the Great Commandments about loving God and neighbor, and the Great Compassion of Jesus seeking the lost. The document breaks down the Great Commission into five parts: winning the lost, building believers, equipping workers, multiplying leaders, and reproducing missionaries to all people.
The document announces that the group "Four By Grace" will be leading worship at Gospel Baptist Tabernacle on Sunday, July 24th at 11:00 AM. It then summarizes a story from the book of Acts where Peter preaches to the people about Jesus healing a lame man, saying that through faith in Jesus' name the man was healed. Peter tells the people they rejected and killed Jesus, but God raised him from the dead, and they must repent to have their sins blotted out. It encourages finding blessing through turning from sin and walking in God's way.

This document presents a vision for a church that embraces diversity and brings people together. It discusses how God wants the church to be an "uncomfortably diverse" community where all have a place and a voice. The document references Ephesians to illustrate how Christ destroyed dividing walls and made Jews and Gentiles one new people. The vision is of a church where outsiders feel they belong and where there is plenty of room for all at God's table.
Linguistic Diveristy: Babel or PentecpstPaul Woods
The document compares the biblical stories of Babel and Pentecost. It summarizes that at Babel, people acted in pride and arrogance to build a tower without God. In response, God confused their languages and scattered them. At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit united people of different languages and allowed them to understand the gospel, gathering nations to announce the good news of Jesus Christ. While Babel brought confusion, Pentecost brought peace and the foundation of the church.

The document discusses a passage from 1 Corinthians 10:1-11 about the Israelites receiving blessings from God but also committing sins against Him despite their privileges. It notes five blessings the Israelites enjoyed including passing through the sea and eating spiritual food and drink, and five sins they committed such as craving evil things and acting immorally. The passage warns that these things happened as examples and were written for instruction, so people should take heed lest they fall as well. It encourages considering what blessings God has given and how they are being used.
A series of classes designed to turn you into a "World Christian" by helping you discover the truth of God's unfulfilled global purpose to reach all peoples. It will ignite in you a passion to take action and fulfill your destiny as part of God's plan.
The document discusses what the Bible says about Jesus' second coming. It will be a visible, glorious return where every eye will see Him. The earth will experience tremendous earthquakes and upheaval. Jesus will judge all people, resurrect believers to eternal life, and condemn non-believers. Many passages are cited encouraging believers to watch and be prepared, as the exact timing of His return is unknown but could occur at any time. False teachers claiming to know the timing or location of His return are warned against.
Bible Truths - Prophecy of Daniel and Revelation - The Prince of Pride #4 - What is the origin of sin? Did God create a devil? Where did Satan come from? The story of Absalom lays a foundation for us to understand the story of Lucifer and his fall. The Bible teaches us that God did not create sin and Satan. God does not force us or the angels to love Him. Lucifer brought evil into the universe when he let pride enter his heart. Societies picture of the devil isn't what the Bible reveals.

Paul defends himself before King Agrippa, recounting his experience on the road to Damascus where Jesus appeared to him and called him to spread the message of salvation to both Jews and Gentiles. Paul was once a persecutor of Christians but was converted after his vision of Jesus, and has since preached repentance and faith in Christ. King Agrippa acknowledges that Paul's testimony seems reasonable, though he questions whether such a short time is enough to persuade him to become a Christian.
1) God sent his son Jesus into the world not to condemn it but to save it, and whoever believes in him will have eternal life rather than perish.
2) Jesus was born as a human and shared in humanity so that through his death he could destroy Satan and free humanity from slavery to the fear of death.
3) The angels announced Jesus' birth to the shepherds as good news that would be for all people, bringing salvation.
Paul preached in Athens about Jesus and the resurrection, bringing strange new teachings to their ears. Some philosophers debated with Paul, with some calling him a "babbler". Paul was then brought before the Areopagus to explain his teachings. Paul told them that he saw they were religious, and noticed an altar to an unknown god. Paul proclaimed that this unknown god was the Creator of all things, and that people should seek and find him. Paul preached that Jesus had been appointed by God as judge, proven by his resurrection from the dead. Some mocked this teaching while others wanted to hear more.
We want to follow the early church as a model. Time and time again in the book of Acts we find that this is what described the early church…they were not a church that prayed, but they were defined by prayer. The early church was a praying church. So for the next several weeks we are going to be studying through the book of Acts. We are going to see how the early church prayed, and my prayer is that we will not only learn about prayer, but we will begin to become a praying church ourselves.

The document discusses the presence of God and the importance of pursuing Him. It references Bible passages about seeking God's face and drawing near to Him. There are three angles to God's presence: His omnipresence, manifested presence, and felt presence. To experience God's presence, one must pursue Him through prayer and seeking Him, rely on His promises to be with us, and practice spiritual disciplines like worship and drawing close to Him. The ultimate message is that God promises His presence to those who earnestly seek Him.
Jesus enters a house in Capernaum where a large crowd has gathered to hear him preach. Some men bring a paralyzed man to Jesus, unable to get near due to the large crowd. So they remove part of the roof and lower the man down to Jesus. Jesus sees their faith and forgives the man's sins. Some scribes question this in their hearts. Jesus, perceiving this, asks them why they question him. He then tells the paralyzed man to rise, take his bed, and go home to demonstrate he has the power on Earth to forgive sins. The man does so, astonishing all who witness it and glorifying God.

the most vast work transmitted to humanity through Jakob Lorber; it presents a history narrated by Jesus Christ Himself, describing Lord’s and His closed ones’ lives in the last three years of His life on earth, containing a great number of wonders, dialogues and teachings that greatly develop and enrich the records from the Gospels of Matthew and John; it also contains detailed revelations explaining essential passages from the Old and the New Testament and predictions concerning events occurring during the last 2000 years, culminating with facts that characterize the technological civilization of the XX-th Century and disclosures of a scientific nature which were validated long time after Jakob Lorber wrote about them. In the Great Gospel of John, one can practically find the essential answers to all the fundamental questions of life – these are to be found in the clear, but also extraordinary deep descriptions of the divine and human nature, of the creation and the material and spiritual evolution.

The Gospel According to Jesus - Session #7 - Mark 2.1 12Grace Canberra
Jesus preaches to a large crowd gathered at his home in Capernaum. Four men bring a paralyzed man, unable to get near Jesus due to the large crowd. They remove part of the roof and lower the paralyzed man down. Jesus sees their faith and forgives the man's sins. Scribes think Jesus is blaspheming by claiming the ability to forgive sins, which only God can do. Jesus asks if it is easier to forgive sins or heal the man, then tells the paralyzed man to rise, take up his mat, and go home, demonstrating his authority to forgive sins. The man is healed, astonishing all who praise God.
Jesus teaches from Simon's boat, then tells Simon to let down his nets, resulting in a miraculous catch of fish. Simon and his partners James and John leave everything to follow Jesus. Jesus heals a man with leprosy with a touch, telling him to show himself to the priest. Jesus forgives the sins of a paralyzed man, healing him to prove his authority. The people are amazed at Jesus' power over illness and demons.
This summary provides the key details from the document in 3 sentences:
The document describes Jesus beginning his ministry by being baptized by John the Baptist. Jesus calls his first disciples and teaches with authority in the synagogues. Jesus heals many who are sick or possessed by demons, and teaches the crowds using parables about the kingdom of God.
This document provides material for a meditation session, including:
1) A passage from Philippians encouraging dwelling on things that are true, honorable, etc.
2) Instructions on repetition and memorization techniques.
3) The story of Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus from John 3, presented in multiple translations.
4) Prompts for reflection on what is liked/disliked about the passage and what it reveals about God and humanity.
5) Instructions on finding a quiet place and clearing the mind for meditation.
The document discusses Jesus' ministry according to the Gospel of Matthew. It notes that Jesus began his public ministry after being tempted, and mentions John the Baptist being imprisoned. It then summarizes Jesus moving to Capernaum and preaching there, fulfilling a prophecy about Galilee. Jesus preached that people should repent, as the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The document asks several questions about Jesus' message and ministry, including his healing of a paralytic and calling of Levi.
The document summarizes the Gospel of John's account of Jesus healing a man born blind. It describes the series of events - Jesus performing the sign of healing the man's blindness, the man being questioned by neighbors and Pharisees, and ultimately identifying Jesus as a prophet. Jesus later interprets the sign through a discourse comparing himself to a shepherd and the gate for the sheep. He describes laying down his life for the sheep, a theme that echoes his role as the good shepherd.
1. Christ's first and foremost message after appearing to the people at the temple of Bountiful was to give power and instruction to his disciples to baptize the people. He commanded them to go down into the water and baptize in his name those who repented of their sins.
2. The document outlines the doctrinal basis of missionary work as helping people receive salvation through coming unto Christ by faith, repentance, baptism, and enduring to the end. It emphasizes inviting others to come unto Christ.
3. Nephi's teachings on the doctrine of Christ focus on faith, repentance, baptism by water and fire/Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end in following Christ's example as
This document discusses the miracles of Jesus and their purpose. It asserts that Jesus' miracles prove he was sent from God, as no one could perform such miracles unless God was with them. The primary purpose of Jesus' miracles was to prove his divinity as the Son of God, but they also demonstrated his love, pity and concern for suffering humanity. Several Bible verses are presented that describe Jesus' miracles and their effects on people, helping to strengthen faith in him as the promised prophet and Messiah.
This passage describes Jesus' early ministry and interactions. It establishes that Jesus is the Word of God made flesh who came to bear witness to the light. It describes Jesus turning water into wine at a wedding in Cana and clearing the temple of money changers. It recounts Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus where he states one must be born again of water and spirit. It also shares Jesus' discussion with a Samaritan woman at a well where he offers her living water.
This document is a summary of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, focusing on the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:3-12. It discusses different interpretations of the purpose of the Sermon and analyzes each Beatitude. The key points are:
1) Scholars have proposed various purposes for the Sermon, such as enabling salvation, guiding society, or describing conditions in the Millennial Kingdom.
2) "Blessed are the poor in spirit" refers to recognizing one's spiritual poverty and need for God, not relying on self-righteousness.
3) True spiritual poverty is knowing that we can bring nothing to God and need his mercy and grace.
The document discusses debates among Jewish religious leaders about Jesus. The high priest Caiphas argues they should condemn Jesus as a false prophet, but Nicodemus and others disagree. Nicodemus says condemning popular figures often backfires and loses the temple followers and money. He warns pursuing Jesus could lead people to abandon the temple as Lazarus did, following the Romans instead. The debates show divisions emerging among Jewish leaders about how to respond to Jesus and his influence.
This is a study of Jesus being unorthodox. He went against the accepted rules of the Pharisees and it aggravated them to the point of wanting Him crucified.. Jesus did not come to conform but to transform.
In the crowd where Jesus healed the lame man let down through the roof we find four types of people. There is the helpless man - like us, we can't heal ourselves. There are the helpers - this is whom we should strive to be. There are the hinderers - they didn't mean to be but they hindered. Like many of us today. And then there was the healer, Jesus. We can't be the healer but we can lead the helpless to Him!

This document is a transcript of a sermon given by Brother Branham on the topic of "The Anointed Ones At The End Time". In the sermon, Brother Branham discusses Jesus' prophecy in Matthew 24 that in the end times, there will rise false Christs (meaning anointed ones) and false prophets who will show great signs and wonders in order to deceive people. Brother Branham argues that these false anointed ones will actually be anointed by the Holy Spirit, and will have genuine supernatural powers, yet their teachings will be false. The sermon examines various Bible passages to support this view.
This document contains excerpts from the Bible discussing Jesus' teachings and interactions. It describes Jesus commissioning his disciples and giving them the Holy Spirit. It recounts Jesus eating with tax collectors and sinners, and forgiving a woman caught in adultery. It encourages running the race of faith with perseverance while fixing eyes on Jesus.
1) The document is a transcript of a sermon by Prophet Dr. Owuor about wearing the garment of God.
2) He references Genesis where God covered Adam and Eve with garments after they sinned, and Revelation about keeping one's clothes on until Jesus returns.
3) The main point is that through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, believers can be covered by his blood and clothed with Christ to be saved from shame and nakedness before God.
The document summarizes Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit as described in Acts chapters 1-2. It discusses how Jesus told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit to come and empower them. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit fell upon the disciples as tongues of fire, allowing them to speak in other languages. About 3,000 people responded to Peter's message and were baptized. The receiving of the Holy Spirit fulfilled Jesus' promise and allowed the disciples to be powerful witnesses for Christ.

Jesus has been called the "Great Physician." We think of His miracles of healing. But those miracles of healing our physical bodies point to a far greater miracle--the healing of our heart and soul. He doesn't just mean physical life and death. He points to something greater--spiritual life and death, both in this world and the next.

We will experience more of that living water as we become dispensers of living water, just like the woman we'll study this week!

John 3 also lays out God's rescue mission of men and women who are lost, guilty, and without hope, in need of rescue! But most folks aren't interested, not believing they need rescuing, and certainly not interested in the remedy for sin.

This week we'll study John 2. As we read about Jesus turning water into wine at a wedding, and Jesus cleansing the temple, let’s make some observations about our human nature that often come back to bite us in the "you know what" in our personal life, relationships, and our relationship with God.

We so often hear the story of Mary this time of year, but it’s just as easy to gloss over the extreme cost it would have been to a young girl, to find herself graced with this ‘favor’ from God. What did it cost her in terms of her life’s plans? What did it cost her socially, with her family, with friends and neighbors? What does radical obedience cost us?

The document discusses Jesus as the coming king who will reign eternally based on passages from the Bible. It describes Jesus' birth being foretold and the Magi coming to worship the newborn king. While Jesus' kingdom is not of this world, it refers to God's rule over people's hearts and will continue to grow until the end of time. Jesus is the king of kings and ruler of everything who will welcome his followers into the kingdom of glory in heaven.

The Christmas message clearly spells out the deity of Christ, but this is not just a theological issue with which to ponder. It is meant to jolt us out of our spiritual stupor (sleepiness) to obeying "Jesus Christ our LORD." If obedience in our daily lives is replaced by right theology, then the boat has sailed without us.

What christ offers, what we offer p 1 seth gatchell november 22 2020Pacific Church
Beneath people's veneer are hidden questions. "Do I matter? Do I matter to anyone? Does someone really care about me?" People hunger and thirst for real "life," that sense of satisfaction that comes from being deeply connected with God and others. That is what Christ offers us, and He offers this real "life" through us to others! What we all want to know, is how does this happen?
The document discusses issues people have with the Bible and argues for its authority and trustworthiness. It notes that Jesus viewed the Bible as a story that reaches its climax in his life, and that he considered it trustworthy and authoritative. The document argues that Jesus is the ultimate authority, but that he mediates his authority through scripture, so obeying the Bible means obeying Jesus.
Jeremiah lamented over his people, weeping for their unfaithfulness and the destruction that would come. As the prophet of God, he faced opposition and persecution for delivering messages of judgment. He proclaimed that Jerusalem would fall to Babylon due to their sins. Still, God expressed tender compassion for Israel and a hope that they would one day return to Him.

Gender our biblical worldview part 7 seth g october 18 2020Pacific Church
In our day there is growing confusion about gender. There is a secular movement of thinking that seeks to minimize or obliterate any differences between genders. In this secular way of thinking, gender is something that one feels or identifies as. This is like leaving a great sailing ship on the high seas without sails and a rudder. It will be carried along wherever the current wishes, adrift on the open seas. The unintended consequences of this thinking is to create greater confusion for young people who already struggle with their gender and confusing feelings of their identity, but there is a wondrous design to complementary gender that seeks to build intimacy in a marriage, deeper relationships with people, and reflects the wonder of our Trinitarian God.

What does the bible say about marriage? Up until 15-20 years ago this was not a "controversial" topic. Everyone knew the answer. Our secular culture continues to send its tsunami waves at our Judeo-Christian heritage, causing great confusion. How are we to think about same-sex marriage? What does the bible say? Before we address those questions we will spend time reviewing what makes a marriage a biblical marriage.
As we continue our conversation on a Christian worldview, specifically as it deals with thinking through this upcoming election we are diving deeper and deeper into different issues. This week we are looking at the sanctity of life. What it means to be made in the image of God, to have value, and to be worthy of life, no matter what stage of life you are in.
A Biblical Worldview - The Role of GovernmentPacific Church
Our task is to always learn God's eternal truths and apply them to our lives. This includes how God views government. What does the bible say about government?
How do the bible's stories illustrate the truth or foolishness of how government is done? How do we apply the biblical truths in our country? This requires wisdom, discernment, humility and what the Bible calls "good sense."

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

2. A few days later, when Jesus again entered
Capernaum, the people heard that he had
come home. 2 They gathered in such large
numbers that there was no room left, not
even outside the door, and he preached the
word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to
him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them.
3. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because
of the crowd, they made an opening in the
roof above Jesus by digging through it and
then lowered the mat the man was lying on.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the
paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
4. 6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting
there, thinking to themselves, 7 “Why does
this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming!
Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this
was what they were thinking in their hearts,
and he said to them, “Why are you thinking
these things?
5. 9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man,
‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take
your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know
that the Son of Man has authority on earth to
forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell
you, get up, take your mat and go home.”
6. 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full
view of them all. This amazed everyone and
they praised God, saying, “We have never
seen anything like this!”
7. “The time has come. The kingdom of God has
come near repent and believe the gospel.”
-Mark 1:15
11. Luke 4: 14-20
14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the
Spirit, and news about him spread through the
whole countryside. 15 He was teaching in their
synagogues, and everyone praised him.
12. 16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been
brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went
into the synagogue, as was his custom. He
stood up to read, 17 and the scroll of the
prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling
it, he found the place where it is written:
13. 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the
prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”[
14. 20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to
the attendant and sat down. The eyes of
everyone in the synagogue were fastened on
him
15. 21 He began by saying to them, “Today this
scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
