James A. Firestone was elected to Goodyear's Board of Directors. Firestone is currently the president of Xerox North America and has over 30 years of experience in senior management roles at large corporations. Goodyear believes Firestone will contribute significantly to the company's continued growth with his diverse management background. Firestone will receive standard compensation for non-employee directors and his term on the board will expire at Goodyear's 2008 annual shareholder meeting.
