The disciples go fishing after Jesus' resurrection but catch nothing all night. In the morning, a man on the shore calls out to them and tells them to cast their nets on the other side of the boat, where they catch an enormous number of fish. They realize the man is Jesus, reminding them of his earlier miracle of catching fish and calling them to be "fishers of men". Jesus' appearance at the lake affirms it is acceptable to have a normal life or occupation but reminds them of their higher spiritual calling to spread the gospel.
