Both standards have been in development for 10 years based on prior experience. They are a perfect fit for IoT use cases as they standardize interfaces without assuming cloud, are proven usable by developers, are small, scale well, and have industry consensus with Google and Microsoft supporting OpenID Connect. UMA 1.0 will be announced in April 2015.

Apache Knox Gateway "Single Sign On" expands the reach of the Enterprise Users
Apache Knox Gateway is a proxy for interacting with Apache Hadoop clusters in a secure way providing authentication, service level authorization, and many other extensions to secure any HTTP interactions in your cluster. One main feature of Apache Knox Gateway is the ability to extend the reach of your REST APIs to the internet while still securing your cluster and working with Kerberos. Recent contributions to the Apache Knox community have added support for Single Sign On (SSO) based on Pac4j 1.8.9 which is a very powerful security engine which provides SSO support through SAML2, OAuth, OpenID, and CAS. In addition, through recent community contributions Apache Ambari, and Apache Ranger can now also provide SSO authentication through Knox. This paper will discuss the architecture of Knox SSO, it will explain how enterprise user could benefit by this feature and will present enterprise use cases for Knox SSO, and integration with open source Shibboleth, ADFS Windows server Idp support, and Okta cloud Idp.

Identity Server ha sido durante mucho tiempo el framework para OpenIdConnect y OAuth 2 más utilizado en el ámbito de .NET. Usándolo conectábamos de modo seguro front y back, conseguíamos Single Sign-On y en general manejábamos aspectos relativos a la seguridad de nuestras aplicaciones.
Pero nada es eterno, y en Octubre de 2020, desde Duende Software, fundada por los mantainers de Identity Server anunciaban que el soporte se acabaría junto al de .NET Core 3.1 ¡Y eso se acerca! En noviembre de 2022 dejará de mantenerse, y por tanto dejaremos de recibir actualizaciones de seguridad.
¿Qué opciones tenemos?
Veremos algunas de ellas, entre las que están otros paquetes open source y soluciones que Microsoft nos ofrece en Azure, como Azure AD B2C.

For the last 7 years I’ve been focused outwardly on exploring Kafka application development challenges, but recently I decided to look inward and see what I could discover about the performance, scalability and resource characteristics of the Kafka clusters themselves. Using a suite of Performance Engineering techniques, I will reveal some surprising discoveries about cosmic Kafka mysteries in our data centres, related to: cluster sizes and distribution (using Zipf’s Law), horizontal vs. vertical scalability, and predicting Kafka performance using metrics, modelling and regression techniques. These insights are relevant to Kafka developers and operators.

- 1. Title: Meet OX: OAuth2 Authentication and API Security Description (400 char): Provide a historical overview of domain authentication services like RADIUS, LDAP, Kerberos and PKI. Review federation SAML tools and rules. Technical deep dive into two profiles of OAuth2: OpenID Connect and UMA. The tutorial will demonstrate how to use OX to launch centralized domain authentication, SSO, and strong authentication. Integration will be shown for both Web and mobile applications. Type: 3 hour tutorial Abstract: OX is an open source server that provides endpoints for the OpenID Connect and UMA profiles of OAuth2. It also provides a policy administration point to enable admins to manage trust with other domains. This tutorial will demystify centralized authentication, authorization, federation, web access management and mobile applications. It will also show how to use out-of-band mobile PUSH notifications to shore up password security.
- 2. OX has been leading the last two OpenID Connect interops. Red Hat and Centos users need not despair. As this tutorial will demonstrate, OX is not that hard to deploy, as described on the Wiki .The tutorial will also review how to use Apache 2.4.6 as the OpenID Connect RP and the UMA client. The demo will also show how a native client, in this case a Python application, could use the OpenID Connect and UMA APIs to identify a person, and to authorize access to resources. Finally, the tutorial will cover how to deploy ox Push ip2d a lightweight server and Apache Cordova hybrid mobile application which enables a domain to use the Google or Apple mobile push networks to send a message to a trusted device. It’s one of the first open source mobile applications for strong authentication, and provides a good example of a two step authentication: (1) username / password; (2) a mobile push notification, prompting for approval.
