Barcelona's main train station, Estacio de Franca, underwent a $20-million facelift to modernize and beautify the station. The renovations included restoring the original stained glass dome and gas lamps, upgrading platforms and tracks, and installing new lighting, signage and floors. The facelift transformed the run-down station into a bright, spacious facility befitting Barcelona's status as an international tourist destination.
