What is Global Warming?
• Global Warming is the increase of
• the Earth’s
• temperature due to effect of greenhousegases, such as
carbon dioxide from burningfossil fuels or
from deforestation, which trapheat that would normally
escape from Earth.
What causes Global warming?
• O2
greenhouse gases are responsible for globalwarming.
Some otherthings that causes it isfossil fuels in cars,
factories and electricityproduction. The gas responsible
for the mostglobal warming is carbon dioxide, alsoknown
as CO2.

What are the effects of globalwarming?
• Sea level rising:Large volumes of melted ice which turns into
water, then flows down into streams, rivers, lakes and
seas. The result is rising sea and water levels, causingfloods
and massive destruction to towns and citiesnear the
water.Extinction:The lives of many plants and animals will
becomeextinct. For example, the survival of polar bears
andpenguins in icy regions are in danger, as they
cannotsurvive anywhere else. Other plants and animals
inhot areas will die if temperatures suddenly becometoo
cold for them.
• Floods and droughtsclimate change also causes water
bodies todry out. There is also dryness that causesdroughts,
bush fires and as a result, manywater and land animals will
dieExtreme weatherChanging climate may also cause
theweather to become more extreme, be itdroughts or
violent storms and heavy rain.
What changes has globalwarming
made to our Earth?
• Day by day, as global warming continues, the worldgets
hotter and hotter and ice melts. As the ice melts,it causes
sea levels to rise. Also, some of the hottestyears were in the
last fourteen years. The hottest of them all was in 2005. The
weather in different placeshas changed. Some animal
habitats are in danger. Forexample: polar bears.
How can we help stopglobal warming?
• We can help stop global warming byrecycling recyclabe
things. Eg. Bottles, plastic bags, plastic containers, paper and
soon. We can also cut down on green housegases and cut
down less trees. If you do dothat, that will help the Earth
What could happen if globalwarming
doesn’t stop?
• If global warming doesn’t stop, there will bemore floods,
shortage of natural resources, habitats will be destroyed,
and the world willbe more polluted.
