Role Models As A Role Model
A role model is an imperfect person, not a perfect person, because that s who we are as real people (Jennifer Love Hewitt) Everyone one needs somebody to look up to. During the video of the greatest love of all Whitney Huston shows a couple of things. She wants tries to prove a point during the video. The point she is trying to prove is that everyone needs a role model or even someone to look up to.
When you re a little kid most of the time your first role models are a doctor, firefighter, or a teacher. Most kids look up to them because they save lives. When kids think of doctors, they think of someone helping their ailments. They look at firefighters as a positive role model because they save people out of fires. They see them as role models because they are helping someone while putting their life at risk. Kids most of the time think that teachers are role models because they see them in the class room helping them. The teacher s best intentions are for the kids to get better and grow. That s why some kids look up to teachers. These are some of the common role models for kids. There are so many different role models. Its honestly up to the person to look up to them. Every man for himself. Everyone has their own opinion. Your role model is the person in your opinion you look up to. No one else can tell you who and what you can look up to.
During the video Whitney Hutson is trying to show flash backs of her life. In the beginning, she shows a little girl and an older lady

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Global Warming Argumentative Essay
1. Global Warming Argumentative Essay
Global Warming: Myth or Fact? The Global Warming theory has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Citizens of the world are being
encouraged to be more environmentally conscious by others including politicians, celebrities, and world organizations. The problem with the theory
lies in the fact that it has become more and more controversial as it gains publicity and attention. The basic concept behind this theory is that the earth
was made with a balance of "greenhouse gasses". These gasses are naturally occurring within the atmosphere and they essentially make the planet
habitable by keeping it warm. When the world became more industrialized, the amount of carbon dioxide that was being emitted into the atmosphere

The more people habituating the planet, the more potential there is for emission of greenhouse gasses. In short, the basis of this argument other than
years of documented research and scientific discovery is what harm could we do by being more conservative in our use of energy and other entities
that produce more than their share of greenhouse gasses? The answer as it stands now is none. The harmful effects of ignoring this crisis are all but
proven fact. The problem that the pro– global warming theorists have created is that of social standing and little else. While there may be scientific
backing to support some of the theory, the media presents the problem with great sensationalism. Global warming and energy conservation has thus
become a trend and losses some of its validity through this. The scare tactics used by the media to "promote awareness" are just that, a linguistic ploy to
gain favor. "Awareness of this global threat reinforced public concern and environmental problems and thereby provided environmental activists,
scientists, and policy makers with new momentum in their efforts to promote environmental protection." (McCright, 2000) This statement draws line
to the potential benefits that would be received if the pro–global warming theorists were to draw enough attention to the issue. Driven by social
empowerment and conviction to environmental protection, these activists misrepresent the actual threat and paint it as being much more

2. Argumentative Essay On Screen Time
Technology has been part of our daily live more frequently than before. Screen time has been more popularly used on kids and adolescents. On a
daily bases many kids seem to spend more time inside on their tablets, instead of having to spend time with other kids. This is a problem that is
becoming more popular over the years,on whether kids need to spend that much time on technology or not. Parents either seem to have strict
technology usage, or they either don't. There has always been a huge controversy with experts, who either think that screen time is beneficial or could
cause problems later on in life. There are many views towards this topic, from hurting kids brains, to helping them during school, and socially.
Many people, including...show more content...
In order to balance both there has to be comparative with the parents. Technology isn't good nor bad. It can only benefit the child if the parents put a
limit to their time in the screen. Parents need to set up a schedule in where the kids will follow the time the kids will be using the tablet/ phone. As well
have time to play with other kids, and just interact with there own family member. In the article, Screen time: A guide for parents states, " keeping
computers out of the bedroom, and keep them in a common area in your house. This will make sure that the child isn't using their computers/ tablets
during the time they have to rest. Kids need to have a good rest, and not having technology in their rooms because it could cause irregular sleep. Just
having the parent take action in how much kids need to spend time in the screens can be a good start. Luscombe argues, " Take away the idea that all
screens are bad, but the face–to –face time for young people is an important part of the socialization process". Parents seem to not understand that
children need to develop good social skills, and that can only be done by interacting with others, and get a sense on others points of views. Parents
need to stop giving the kids technology to keep them quiet for a while, because at the end it's hurting the child

3. Argumentative Essay On Climate Change
Climate change can be traced down to since the mid–1800s, when the industrial revolution first started taking place all around the world. Lives of
human and animal species have been negatively affected since then, with events such as natural disasters, the melting of ice in polar regions, and
change in weather and living conditions. Climate change in polar regions, in particular, has faced the most damage compared to any other region
because of its location in regard to the sun. Climate change holds many different views and opinions about the effects, and even the existence itself, but
evidence is clear and unmistakable in global ramifications and local impact in polar regions.
"...Climate change [is] the 'greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people'", skeptics like Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma like to say. Climate
change is change in climate patterns due to an increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases produced by certain human activity. According to
the National Snow and Ice Data Center, data taken by satellite has shown that the Arctic cover has decreased by 30% over the past 30 years, and this
change, which also include change in sea ice and permafrost, in artic weather and climate is caused by humans. Although numerous scientists have
confirmed the legitimacy of climate change, there are different views on whether climate change is real or not. Government officials like Senator Jim
Inhofe of Oklahoma or Senator Marco Rubio of Florida have explicitly stated that they do not believe climate change is neither real, nor caused by
humans (Tom McCarthy, 2014). On the other hand, mainstream media and other media outlets, such as The Independent and The Economist, have
reported their findings of climate change and its legitimacy. The Independent (Conner, S. 2011) reported that records of these changes were taken by
military submarines, land measurements, and satellite data to prove ice in polar regions are melting faster and faster. Satellites have tracked sea ice
since the 1970s and by nuclear submarines since the Cold War,
according to Peter Wadhams of Cambridge University and it was predicted that by September 2015, there would be no more sea ice. (Conner, S.
2011). Luckily, sea ice has not

4. Argumentative Essay On The Great Depression
Sleepless nights, drowning debt, suicide attempts, and the inevitable fall towards unemployment. These are the things that not only make up but
almost define the title "The Great Depression." The Great Depression was a collapsing disaster. One after another, the government along with society
fell to their knees. Stock markets crashed leaving most Americans bankrupt and on their own to support themselves and their families off of loose
change. Jobs were as rare as ever, people went unemployed left and right. People were left to fend for themselves on the streets with no roof over their
heads. This along with everything else, took a tremendous, emotional toll on society. Some even saw no other options than ending their lives. TheGreat
Depression had an emotion drenching and ground breaking effect on the generation to go through it.
One of the first things that led to a crashing course of events was the people financial tragedies. According to one person who had lived through
that time, "We weren't hungry but we were penniless" (Hastings). The use of the word "penniless" really represented how people had zero money.
This was not the type of poverty where society was not able to afford self wants. This was the type of poverty that people could barely afford their
own needs and necessities. It's very important how stressed this topic must be. Another quote says "With no dependable income we cut back on
everything possible." (Hastings). That means even the simplest things such as toothpaste and towels. This time period,1930s, was the greatest stock
market crash. Stock markets crashed simply because of many economic failures, and when this happened many people were left with nothing. "Most
Americans, of course, owned no stocks at all, so they were not in danger of going bankrupt overnight" (Hayes). This quote from the text was brought
up to show how mostAmericans did not even own stocks because it was a perfectly common thing for someone to end up with nothing in less than 24
hours, "overnight." Althoug h, stocks were not the only reason people had no money. Credit and banks failing had a huge part in that as well. "Banks
stopped lending money. In 1930 and 1931, many banks failed, and customers lost all their

5. Examples Of Argumentative Essay
Argumentative essay presents a point of view about something and explains the reasons in order to win readers' agreement. It is built around a specific
statement (or main premise) that is debatable within the field in which students are studying. In other words, at the center of an argumentative essay is
a statement with which readers may disagree. The argumentative essay will need to support that statement in a manner that convinces the readers of its
truth. It mainly strives to convince the reader of the writer's point of view, using reasonable and ethical methods .The process of argument composition
varies from writer to writer, most writers follow these three stages: forming an argument, which can consist of discovering a motive for writing and
identifying an audience to address, discovering and sharpening a position, and developing an appropriate style; supporting the argument; and reviewing
the argument, which can include considering the image projected by argument, making substantial additions or deletions to a first draft, and adding an

One of the areas of my writing where I was struggling in using my voice. Granite, there were parts of my essay where I successfully integrated
quotes within my voice, but for the most part that was my weakest area. For example of one of my better integrated quotes, in my third paragraph
when I say, "Today, consumers rely on social media for everything, whether it is communicating with old friends, finding new friends, shopping,
researching, and staying informed with the latest news. Daniel adds that, "'Americans who take part in political activities on social networking
sites also tend to be highly active in other areas of political or civic life'" (29), which insinuates that people rely on social media more today than we
have in the past". This was one of my better examples because I further explain and analyze the quote in my voice instead of just ending the
sentence after the quote. One of my poor examples is, "Many people who suffer from depression care a lot about what others think about them.
That is why many of those people tend to turn to social media as an outlet to express their feelings". I made a bold statement and did not back up
what I said with my voice I just ended that sentence and moved on. Instead of moving on I should have explained it further and told them why people
tend to turn to social media to express their feelings. One of the areas of my writing where I was

8. Argumentative Essay On Poverty
Thousands of individuals are living in poverty. Why is it that this worldwide dilemma is still rising in rapid numbers till this day? Is it because of a
lack of authoritative power, or a lack of one's self control to do good? Despite the unknown cause, it has managed to drastically affect the lives of many.
Poverty is like a curse, one that is wrongfully placed, difficult to get out of, and resistant to many forms of help. The pinpoint cause of poverty is
challenging to find. People who live well off and are above the poverty line may be quick to assume that laziness, addiction, and the typical
stereotypes are the causes of poverty. Barbara Ehrenreich, a well known writer on social issues, brings attention to the stereotypical ideology at
her time, that "poverty was caused, not by low wages or a lack of jobs, but by bad attitudes and faulty lifestyles" (17). Ehrenreich is emphasizing
the fact that statements like the one listed, often influence readers to paint inaccurate mental pictures of poverty that continue to shine light on the
ideology of stereotypes being the pinpoint cause to poverty. However, there are many other causes that are often overshadowed, leaving some
individuals to believe that poverty was wrongfully placed upon them. Examples would include: high rates of unemployment, low paying jobs,
race, and health complications. Which are all out of one's ability to control. There is no control over a lack of jobs and high rates of
unemployment, nor the amount of inadequate wages the working poor receive. Greg Kaufmann, an advisor for the Economic Hardship Reporting
Project and The Half in Ten campaign, complicates matters further when he writes, "Jobs in the U.S. [were] paying less than $34,000 a year: 50
percent. Jobs in the U.S. [were] paying below the poverty line for a family of four, less than $23,000 annually: 25 percent" (33). Acknowledging
Kaufmann's fact, the amount received for a family of four is fairly close to the yearly salary of a high school graduate, which means, receiving that
kind of pay for one man may seem challenging, now imagine caring for the needs of four individuals. To make matters worse, certain families receive
that amount of money and carry the burden of paying for

his ambition, optimism, and for being passionate in the novel. The Great Gatsby was set in the 1920's, based upon Jay Gatsby, in Nick Carraway's

Alcopops are alcohol. However, to dilute the strong taste, the spirits in alcopops are mixed with fruit juice. This means it tastes similar to a soft drink,
and have bright colours. Although some teenagers may turn to these colourful drinks as it seems to look less harmful – they are wrong. Alcopops are
even stronger than beers, and have a high sugar content due to the added fruit juice. So, never turn to alcopops for the sake of 'having fun'. In terms of
having fun, there are many other ways to without drinking alcohol – alcohol often causes you to lose your judgement. Some people may drink alcohol
because of peer pressure – but always say NO, and tell someone. YOU ARE YOUR OWN PERSON, and no–one has the RIGHT to put you in danger
like this. You may also drink because of peer infulence. This is when you are influenced by the people around you. Again, you are your own person–
don't do things because you see other people do them. Just because your underage friends are doing it, is it really right? Some people may think: 'it's
only one glass, it's not that bad' However, ethanol enters your body in 5–10 minutes, meaning you still will get slower in your movements, even if just
by a little bit. However, if you drink too much, your movements will become more and more out of control. You will lose to ability to control
yourself, and you will get tearful and angry. You will feel giddy, find it hard to stand up and you will even

Cabute, Jeanette Anne H.
BSIE–HE 4A
Quotation:
1."Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." –Maria Robinson
Explanation: Our lives are full of ups and downs. Often we get so caught up with the downs in our lives that we fall into depression. We feel that
everything in life is falling apart. You regret the choices you've made in the past and feel that you have failed in life. Understand that you cannot go
back in time and undo choices you've made but that you can stop yourself from repeating the past by making smarter decisions so that you can have a
better future.
Reaction: Yes, our life is full of up and downs. We also cannot change the past, but we can make better things or choices

If we try new things we're going to make a few mistakes but we are learning from that mistake. If you don't make any mistakes, you're in a rut and
not trying anything new. Mistakes are part of our lives, we cannot change it, and we just have to take the risk. Nothing is impossible if we try new
things and nothing will lose if you try right.
4."The heart has its reasons which reason knows not." –Blaise Pascal
Explanation: The heart, the organ capable of storing love can also reason. Its reasoning makes all the sense in the world to the heart and to the heart's
owner when the owner first hears it. It's the reasoning that makes you fall in love at first sight. It's the reasoning that somehow makes it so hard to let
somebody go even though you have no logical reason to want that person to stay.
Reaction: The quote means that you have to listen to your heart. Just like in love, you just only knew that you love that person but you don't know
why. We fall in love in a mutual weirdness and called it love.
5."When love is not madness it is not love." –Pedro CalderГіn de la Barca

13. The Great Gatsby Argumentative Essay
It's time to get rid of the idea of the "American Dream" we once cherished. The "American Dream" has strayed so far from the true, original meaning
and has instead become a convoluted, argumentative point for politicians to use in their speeches. No one can openly oppose it because it captures our
faith in advancement as a nation. Opposing it would be unpatriotic no matter how unrealistic it truly is. That is the exact reason this phrase has
survived all odds, it provides hope for those without. It is what drives us all, whether we know it or not, even though its nothing but an unreachable
dream. The "American Dream" is what drives the entire decade of the roaring twenties, living fast and living large, even what drives Jay Gatsby,

You can have money, tons, but if you don't have family or anyone to give and receive love from, it means nothing. This is how Gatsby felt, you can
sense it throughout the entire novel. "He hadn't once ceased looking at Daisy, and I think he revalued everything in his house according to the measure
of response it drew from her well–loved eyes. Sometimes, too, he stared around at his possessions in a dazed way, as though in her actual and
astounding presence none of it was any longer real. Once he nearly toppled down a flight of stairs." (Fitzgerald 112) The lavish lifestyle and silk
shirts of every fathomable color meant nothing to him, he only did it all for Daisy. Just like in The Grapes of Wrath, if any of the Joad's had been
on their own then they probably would have settled for something less than great, like the job on the side of the road picking peaches for five cents a
bushel. However, because they had family, and wanted the best for their family like most people do, they went through all the obstacles thrown their
way to get closer to their

14. Example Of Argumentative Essay On Protagoras
@ Trout; Really, you should try to comprehend what you read. In my post to protagoras; I said, "I see you are still h**l bent on denying people in
Montana of their 1st Amendment rights, as you are in other states, their 1st, 2nd, 4th and 8th Amendment rights." This had to do with an article titled,
[Montana Republican Party: Monforton's arguments revealing] The 1st
Amendment rights I spoke of were the rights of Montanan's. In an earlier post, I stated, "protagoras; "hard to believe ................." But, what is not hard
to believe is the progressive wanting to deny others, who don't believe in their form of left–wing jeremiad their constitutional rights. e.g. protagoras,
doesn't believe the Republicans have the same 1st amendment right as the progressive...show more content...

terrorism." My comment was to him and 'JohnnyGriffin' who tried to defend with his post.
My post was nothing more or less than a copy of the, "USA PATRIOT Act, acts of domestic terrorism."

intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion;

16. Argumentative Essay On Social Media Addiction
Social Media has become a plague in our world today, it's like a disease that is spread around very quickly, and super–fast. For example, some old
family members of mine, who I would have never expected to use social media are now using it, and they have become very good at using it, their
black belts of social media if you will. They heard young people talking about it, so it made them wonder "if teenagers are excited about this whole
new trend might as well give it a shot, and see how well we do with it ourselves." But what they don't know is that social media is good for us for
some good reason like keeping up with far relatives, keeping up with the news, and what's going around the world but once you start using it for other

Facebook jealousy is bad, for that it causes so many problems and arguments with your partner which in term can lead us to even consider cheating.
Cheating is another negative implication from using too much Facebook. By using Facebook in a unhealthy matter it increases the chance of
someone cheating, it definitely increases the odds of a couple to cheat on each other, because Facebook has a private message feature allowing
anybody to send a message where just the two people are the only ones that can read and see the messages. To some extent if the person doesn't
want their partner to find out they're cheating, they will even create a fake profile to reach out to the person. A great example of this is one of my
uncles actually cheated on his girlfriend using the same tactic I talked about. He used the private message feature which allowed him to keep his affair
a secret from his girlfriend. While his girlfriend thought he was at work, he was actually cheating on another girl.
Low–self–esteem is another negative implication, that can happen to us for using Facebook for such a long time! By using Facebook too much our
self–esteem will drop, because we'll always be thinking about what other's think about our profile, posts, updates, and also being concerned about
having the perfect life, and getting likes. There are so many great examples of this, but one that always comes to mind is the tv–show Catfish. Mostly
all of the time the person

If you bring up the subject of suicide in a room of people, it is likely that the individuals will become quite, begin to become uncomfortable. Why is
this? Is it because of the aspect of death? Is it the ways it is done? Society may say it is a wrong and selfish act, or that a person is not considering
others and therefore it is erroneous. We live in a society where mental health problems are rampant, societal issues take over our daily lives and out
everyday stresses impact our health, yet our understanding of the subject that is to be avoided and carries a stigma with it that affects the way people
see those who have attempted or completed suicide. When deciding if suicide is an ethical or morally accepted action, we must take many factors into
consideration. Some of these factors may include the culture and society in which we live and our knowledge of psychological and biological causes.

18. Argumentative Essay On Academic Competition
Competition. This word varies in connotation. To some, it symbolizes joy, triumph, and self–satisfaction, while for others the word represents
worthlessness and failure. Since an early age, kids are taught about competition through games and sports. Kids develop skills like sportsmanship,
integrity and fair play. Competition is like water in a sieve. To argue that competition does not exist is like saying that water is not leaking from a
sieve when only one hole is clogged. Competition is everywhere. In today's society, there has been a lot of controversy over academic competition in
school. Many see academic competition has a looming rain cloud that hangs over the students who excel differently, and cannot find success in the
standard school system. They see competition as emphasis on arbitrary performance. Yet, competition is not all that bad. Competition is what helps us
learn and grow as people. If students did not know the difference between a win or lose, then how would they know where to improve? Academic
competition gets a negative connotation, but in reality, it has an overall positive impact.
In a recent article, it was discussed how students are experiencing an overwhelming amount of stress from competition. Students, tired and sleep
deprived, dread school not because of the workload, but because of the academic competition. "While I understand that competition is an important
motivator to many students, I believe that our mental wellness would be significantly
