Serve Our City - A Key Element In Calvary Community Church StrategyEugene Moreau
At Calvary Community Church in Auckland NZ we have focused on those people who experience life in a marginalised space. We are called to help them experience John 10:10 - a fulfilled life. This presentation was presented at a recent conference in Auckland NZ as a breakout workshop.
According to Leonard Sweet, "Missions is the family business…" But for every business to succeed, their needs to be a clearly defined business goal, business plan, and well trained workers for the business. The question is, are you in the family business? This talk was given to the men of Christ Fellowship McKinney on September October 12th, 2013. I would be blessed to present it to the men of your church.
How does the spirituality of the city cause our urban spirituality? What kind of spirituality do we need to live out the Kingdom against the domination of urban culture? What is that like for workers in the slums, in a postmodern Western city or for business people?
Jesus call is to an incarnational solidarity that results in proclamation of a good news which involves economic discipleship that brings transformation of the slums.
How does the Kingdom of God create a future beyond post-modernism? What is the Kingdom What is Postmodernism? How do the two relate? This presentation underlies the video on Postmodern Spirituality that can be found at https://vimeo.com/vivgrigg/postmodern . It is based on the book by Viv Grigg, The Spirit of Christ and the Postmodern City.
