The document discusses concerns about the current state of negotiations around the UN Rio+20 conference's draft outcome document. It notes that the draft has become overly complicated with bracketed amendments that tend to be negative. It argues that the draft fails to embrace the vision of transforming patterns of production and consumption to stop exceeding planetary limits and address the needs of the poor and vulnerable. However, the will and determination for real change is not evident from the debates and amended text emerging from negotiations.
The annual report summarizes Perini Corporation's financial results for 2005. It highlights that revenues decreased 6% to $1.73 billion due to timing shifts on some projects, but pre-tax income was impacted by a $24.9 million legal charge. Two acquisitions expanded Perini's presence and its backlog reached a record $7.9 billion due to major new project wins in gaming and hospitality. Looking ahead, the company expects continued growth from its building segment and improved margins and earnings from its civil and management service segments.

The supply chain for offshore wind projects was previously dependent on other industries, but market growth has led to dedicated offshore wind suppliers. Competition among suppliers is increasing as the sector attracts new entrants, which will help reduce costs. While short-term challenges remain, the long-term outlook for supply has improved with commitments from turbine makers and industrial companies seeking to capitalize on offshore wind opportunities.
The document discusses several topics related to renewable energy, including:
1) Whether very low prices awarded in renewable energy tenders in emerging markets like Brazil and South Africa are sustainable or if they could create problems.
2) A study conducted by GL Renewables Certification examining turbulence models used for offshore wind farms.
3) Whether supply chain issues still pose a bottleneck for offshore wind projects.
Marriage is a lifelong commitment that is usually sanctioned by either a religious or secular officiant. To have a happy marriage, couples need unconditional love, commitment to staying together through challenges, emotional and financial maturity, strong communication, faithfulness, and the ability to support each other as they continue to grow together over time. There are many reasons why people get married, such as being in love, wanting to have children, finding a companion for life, seeking financial security, or following family or cultural traditions. Having children is seen as central to marriage and a way to strengthen the bond between spouses, but they should not be viewed as ensuring future support, household help, or proof of gender.

This document provides a summary of the China Greentech Report 2009, which analyzes green technology markets in China. It was created by the China Greentech Initiative, a collaboration of over 80 green companies, entrepreneurs, investors, and policy advisors.
The report defines green technology markets in China, examines the country's market context and regulatory response to environmental issues, evaluates existing and emerging green solutions, identifies challenges to green market development, and outlines opportunities to accelerate green markets. It also provides brief overviews of seven green sectors: cleaner conventional energy, renewable energy, electric power infrastructure, green building, cleaner transportation, cleaner industry, and clean water.
The document announces the kickoff of the Bush Administration's voluntary climate programs called "Business Challenges" and "Climate Leaders" scheduled for late January 2003. It encourages companies to join Power Partners and Climate Leaders to highlight quantitative commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It also summarizes several industry initiatives to reduce emissions, including planting trees, using coal byproducts, restoring mines, developing wind and biomass energy, and an international partnerships program. Companies are asked to indicate if they will participate in these initiatives by December 2002.

Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
What to expect
For the upcoming meetup we are organizing, we have an exciting lineup of activities planned:
-Insightful presentations covering two practical applications of the Power Grid Model.

HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
- Practical examples and best practices to implement right away

Production losses as a result of icing events can be quite significant in cold climates. Icing events can be

Operational project solutions
A suite of services to deliver operational success
In order to maximise the potential of a wind farm, it is essential that an owner / operator
monitors the project thoroughly on an ongoing basis and understands and acts upon the wealth
of information that is available to him. As the wind energy market matures, there is increasing
focus on maximising the energy capture and output from tubines, farms and portfolios in order to
support the future financial viability of the sector and its long-term investment appeal. GL Garrad
Hassan has been conducting detailed analysis of the resource and the technologies of operational
wind farms and portfolios for many years and offers a suite of services to deliver owners and
operators with optimal projects.
Advanced technical understanding of all operational matters
GL Garrad Hassan can facilitate both the collection of information pertinent to a project and an
owner/operator’s access to that data. Even more importantly, its experts are highly experienced in
translating information related to equipment, site and external events in order to allow an owner /
operator to take informed decisions and actions that will ensure that the project continues to be as
safe and effective as possible for the whole of its design life.
