Gideon Maniragaba is the Operations Manager at HOPE Congo. He has over 9 years of experience in commercial and microfinance banking. He holds an MBA from Makerere University and degrees in economics, microfinance, and monitoring and evaluation. Prior to his current role, Gideon worked at Five Talents Uganda and Uganda Microfinance Limited, where he helped transform the latter into a commercial bank. He has published several scholarly papers and articles on topics related to microfinance, poverty, and development issues in Uganda.

Juma Bananuka is an academician and a renowned researcher at Makerere University Business School - Kampala, Uganda. The origin of Juma Bananuka can be traced from Busakuru in present day Rubanda District (formerly Kabale District). Juma Bananuka's ancestors later migrated to Bunagana in Kisoro District and later to Democratic Republic of Congo before finally settling in present day Kamwenge District in western Uganda. Juma Bananuka is a Lecturer at Makerere University Business School in the department of accounting. His research interests are in corporate reporting, auditing, Islamic banking and taxation.

SUMMARY PROFILE- Gideon holds a First Class Degree in Social Sciences with a Major in Economics
from Kyambogo University, Kampala. He completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree
from Makerere University, Uganda in 2014 and holds other academic/professional qualifications in
Microfinance and Banking from The Uganda Institute of Banking & Financial Services as well as
Monitoring & Evaluation from Makerere University. His professional working experience spans over 9
years in both Commercial and Microfinance banking. He has built expertise in Strategic Planning and
Management, Credit analysis and supervision as well as Operations management. Prior to joining HOPE
Congo in February 2014, Gideon worked with Five Talents Uganda; an Anglican church-based MFI as the
Operations Manager. He also previously worked with Uganda Microfinance Limited (UML) where he
grew into ranks first, beginning as a Credit officer Trainee to Credit Officer. He was then promoted to a
Credit Manager Role and finally Business Growth and Development Manager in a span of 4 years. He
was part of the team that was instrumental in transforming UML from an NGO to a Central Bank
regulated financial institution (A Microfinance deposit Taking Institution) and later to a Commercial Bank
(Equity Bank Uganda Ltd).
