2. A British horror film.
Aga Ben Dragore, Egyptian Arab, is seeking a sacred jewel which has been
stolen from an ancient tomb. The thief tells him that he sold it to Professor
Morlant, a fanatical Egyptologist who fervently believes in the pagan power of
the ancient Egyptian gods. Dying from a mysteriously disfiguring ailment,
Morlant entrusts his faithful manservant to bandage the jewel in his hand
and warns him of dire consequences if his dying wishes aren't carried out.
After his burial in an Egyptian-type tomb on his estate, an anonymous robber
steals the precious stone from the corpse. Although the ghastly-looking dead
man rises at the next full moon to seek revenge, neither he nor the audience
know which member of the household possesses the powerful jewel.
3. In black and white.
Kessler, a man controlled by homicidal impulses beyond his
control. He is being controlled by his wife, who had left him for
another man. She was involved in a car accident that has left
her brain damaged and is kept in the basement, in secret, by
Kessler's gardener.
In the end it ends up that Kessler is a killer but he doesn't know
it.
4. Dr. Markway, doing research to prove the existence of ghosts,
investigates Hill House, a large, eerie mansion with a lurid history
of violent death and insanity. With him are the skeptical young
Luke, who stands to inherit the house, the mysterious and
clairvoyant Theodora and the insecure Eleanor, whose psychic
abilities make her feel somehow attuned to whatever spirits
inhabit the old mansion.
As time goes by it becomes obvious that they have gotten more
than they bargained for as the ghostly presence in the house
manifests itself in horrific and deadly ways.
5. While driving one evening, Harold Pelham appears possessed and
has a car accident. While on the operating table, there even
appears to be two heartbeats on the monitor.
When he awakes, Pelham finds his life has been turned upside-
down: he learns that he now supports a merger that he once
opposed, and that he apparently is having an affair. People
claim they have seen him in places that he has never been. Does
Pelham have a doppelganger - or is he going insane?
6. A man, his son and wife become the winter caretakers of an
isolated hotel where Danny, the son, sees disturbing visions of
the hotel's past using a telepathic gift known as "The Shining".
The father, Jack Torrance, is underway in a writing project when
he slowly slips into insanity as a result of cabin fever and
former guests of the hotel's ghosts. After being convinced by a
waiter's ghost to "correct" the family, Jack goes completely
insane.
The only thing that can save Danny and his mother is "The
Shining".
7. When Cyrus Kriticos, a very rich collector of unique things dies, he
leaves it all to his nephew and his family. All including his house, his
fortune, and his malicious collection of ghosts!
Arthur and his two children, Kathy and Bobby, inherit his Uncle
Cyrus's estate: a glass house that serves as a prison to 12 ghosts.
They find themselves trapped inside an evil machine "designed by the
devil and powered by the dead" to open the Eye of Hell.
Aided by Dennis, a ghost hunter, and his rival Kalina, a ghost rights
activist out to set the ghosts free, the group must do what they can
to get out of the house alive.
8. A young man tries to deal with the childhood terror that has
affected his life.
Set in the country, 'Boogeyman' tells the haunting tale of a
young man traumatized by memories of terrible events he
experienced in his childhood bedroom and who, years later,
reluctantly returns home to face his fears of a monstrous entity
that could be real or merely a figment of his imagination.
9. Psychological/supernatural horror-thriller film.
A young lawyer Arthur Kipps (DR) travels to a remote village
where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is
terrorizing the locals.
He also learns that the woman lost her son drowned in the marsh
and she seeks revenge, taking the children of the traumatized
locals.
10. A true-crime writer finds a cache of 8mm "snuff" films that
suggest the murder he is currently researching is the work of a serial
killer whose career dates back to the 1960s.
True-crime writer Ellison Oswalt moves himself and his family in to a
house where an horrific crime took place earlier, but his family
doesn't know.
He is trying to find out more about the crime so he can write a new
book about it to help his flailing career. He uses some "snuff" film
that he finds which show the crimes to help in his research, but he
soon finds more than he bargained for. There is a figure in each of
the films, but who or what is it? As a result his family start to
suffer as does he. Things take a turn for the worst. Will they survive?
