Agent Ichabod Crane is sent to investigate a series of murders in Sleepy Hollow where the culprit is believed to be the Headless Horseman. Crane falls in love with Katrina Van Tassel and discovers the murders are being committed by her stepmother, Lady Van Tassel, who is controlling the Headless Horseman. Crane defeats Lady Van Tassel by returning the Horseman's head, saving Katrina from becoming another victim. Crane and Katrina then leave Sleepy Hollow together.
