Ghent University Library has a long history dating back to 1817. It serves over 38,000 students and 5,500 researchers across 11 faculties. While it has a great heritage collection from the French Revolution and 19th century librarians, the library recognizes the importance of digitizing and sharing resources so that knowledge can be more openly accessible. By joining The European Library, Ghent University Library aims to increase its visibility, collaborate within a network, and utilize the efficient digital infrastructure for aggregating resources.
