This Georgian OCDS dataset is built with OCDS
Version 1.1. It is a modern scheme for publishing
releases and records about contracting processes. The
OCDS implementation in Georgia helps to make
contracting processes more transparent and
accountable by providing a comprehensive, filterable
OCDS dataset.
2. Georgian Open procurement system
The Georgian electronic Government
Procurement (Ge-GP) already ensure a
certain degree of transparency by enabling
electronic free of charge access to the
information.
System has collected a large amount of
reliable and accurate data since 2011.
3. Project Initiative
Jointly carried out by the World Bank and the SPA
developed Application Programming Interface
(API) is a broader initiative, Technical Assistance
project for Improving Efficiency and Transparency
in Public Procurement in Georgia for enhancement
of the Georgian eGovernment Procurement System
(Ge-GP).
4. Project Scope
The main objectives of this project are promoting and increasing
transparency, quality, and use of procurement data among different
target groups of users.
● There is no access to aggregated data on public procurement
in a machine-readable format. This practically restrains 1)
citizens interested in public procurement; 2) public officials
interested in the management of public contracting; 3)
citizens with technological skills and with the ability to
reuse data to create added value; 4) private sector
representatives from making use of the data from making
use of the data
● Improvement of data format to match the OCDS standart
which enables disclosure of data and documents at all stages
of the contracting process by defining a common data
structure and system of publishing information.

9. OCDS helpdesk review
In order to ensure the high quality of
the OCDS Export of Georgian Public
Procurement Data there was
involvement of OCDS helpdesk to
provide the feedback about quality of
dataset produced and about the
OCDS API solution.

● Analysts and citizens were enabled to work with procurement data
● Documented details about the procedure of releasing data and associated documents at
various stages of the contracting processes
● New framework for government to continuously collect, publish and reuse their
