George Bernard Shaw was an Irish playwright, critic, and polemicist. He wrote over 60 plays, including major works such as Man and Superman, Pygmalion, and Saint Joan. Shaw was also an outspoken socialist and critic of established views in religion, education, morality, and sexual mores. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1925 for his work.
