2. …A CHANGE OF HEART
Initially I felt gentrification was a big issue in my
neighborhood. However, deeper insight led me to
believe it was much more than that; it was the
mindset of a generation.
3. BUILDING A NEW CHICAGO
In March of 2012, Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced
the Building a New Chicago program. The $7 billion
program is supposed to be focused on
infrastructure costs and repairs.

4. PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS
In my neighborhood, the posters are usually in torn
down areas next to abandoned parks or deserted
buildings
In other neighborhoods, the posters are next to
actual construction sites; work is being done
7. CREATIVE SOLUTION
Introduction of an “Exposure Experience”
In school or after school program
Volunteers serve as role models
Combination of workshops (self
esteem, identity, unpopular history), field trips and
mentorship
Will help raise a better generation
Better goals/outlook on life
Will teach generations after them
