2. These stunning earrings are deceptively easy to create using a
strand of beads and basic wire wrapping techniques.

M A R K E T I N G G O A L S
Materials Note Tools
1 pair ornate bead caps,
size 10 mm or larger
approx. 100 gemstone
beads. size 2mm to 4mm
2 beads large enough to
cover bead cap hole
approx. 18 ball headpins,
1-inch long, 26 gauge
2 headpins, 2-inches long
approx 5' wire, 26 gauge
1 pair ear wires
The number of beads and
headpins needed will
depend on the number of
holes in the bead caps and
the desired length of your
earrings.. I used 9-hole caps,
so I needed 20 headpins.
My tassels are 5 beads long,
so I used 90 beads plus 2 ear
wire beads.
round nose pliers
chain nose pliers
flush wire cutters
sharpie (optional)
4. Step 1: create first row in tassel strands
Starting with the bottom row of each tassel strand, we'll work our way up to the cap.
To keep your loops uniform, mark the place where your form your loops on your round nose pliers with
the Sharpie.
Thread 1 bead on a headpin.
Form a simple loop and close with one or two wraps. Be sure to wrap each bead the same number of
times to keep the tassel lengths even.
Cut wire and tuck in ends.
Repeat steps for each strand.
5. Step 2: attach second row
Use the 26 ga wire to form the rest of the strands.
Form a simple loop and attach it to the headpin-wrapped bead.
Thread the second row bead(s) on to the wire
Close the row with simple wrapped loop. Cut wire and tuck end in.
Repeat steps for each strand.
6. Step 3: create the tassel caps
This is a good point to create the tassel cap, so you can check the length of your earrings.
7. tassel caps continued
Thread 1 larger bead on 2-inch headpin. image a
Thread the beaded headpin through the under side of bead cap. The bead should be
larger than bead cap hole, but not as big as the bead cap. It is used to anchor the tassel
and help the ear wire hang straight. image b
Add bead(s) to the top side of bead cap. The number of beads you add here will
determine the length of your earrings from the ear wire. image c
Form a simple loop on top of the bead(s) and close with one or two wraps.
Repeat the steps for the 2nd bead cap.

8. Step 4: attach the final row
Form a simple loop and attach it to the 2nd row of beads.
Thread your final row bead(s) to the strand.
Form the top loop, making it slightly larger than the other loops, but do not close it yet.
Repeat steps for all of the strands.
9. Step 5: attach the strands
Slip the open loop of the strand into one of the openings on the rim of the bead cap..
Close the loop with 2 or 3 wraps. Trim the wire and tuck in the end
Repeat steps for both bead caps.
10. Step 6: attach ear wires
Adjust strands so they hang evenly from tassel.
Adjust anchor beads so ear wire hangs evenly.
Attach ear wire to the top loop on tassel.
11. All Done!
Now you're ready to sparkle in your new earrings!
