Brief Product Description: Center for Assessment of Radiological Science (CARS) with certification
from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is a patient safety organization (PSO)
which operates the Radiation Oncology Incident Reporting and Analysis System (RIRAS). This system is
used for reporting and learning from radiotherapy adverse events and near miss incidents. The RIRAS
system is a web based application that helps the radiation oncology community to maintain and improve
patient safety in radiation oncology.
Role: I have worked as an offsite Team lead and am responsible for all related development activities as
per the requirement specifications provided by University of Wisconsin. The application is hosted on cars-
pso.org. Presently the review of this application is carried on by ONC (Office of the National Coordinator
for Health Information Technology). I am responsible for any change management which includes
redesigning or modifying the application, based on the review/specification provided by ONC.

Project GenXViewer (Silverlight Application)

Brief Product Description: GenXViewer is a silverlight application to review the planning done by a
physicist on a patient’s CT scans. A physicist can plan the CT scans and submit these DICOM objects to a
cloud based central database repository. The person who submits these DICOM objects is called submitter.
Later a reviewer who will be sitting at remote location can review the planning done by submitter and give
their comments. Based on the comments given by reviewer, a submitter can change/modify the plans. This
product is used to improve the patient safety in Radiation Oncology.
Role: I was responsible to create a WCF service that handles the request coming from a
submitter/reviewer. This service stores the DICOM objects coming from a particular submitter to a cloud
based PACS Server/Image Archieve and redirects them to the designated reviewer when they are
requested. I also did the configuration settings to communicate Eclipse TPS (Varian Medical Systems)
with the GenXViewer, for the transfer of the planned DICOM objects (CT scans, RT structure set). Here
GenXViewer played the role of DICOM Storage Service.

Brief Product Description: EyePartner is an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for ophthalmology
based on IHE defined workflow. It integrates diagnostic imaging with PACS system. The EMR uses HL7
2.1 standard. The EMR is one of the first EMRs to introduce and develop CDA documents for Cataract and
General Eye routine examinations. These standards were introduced by IHE in 2011.
Role: My role and responsibilities were as follows:-

 Developing HL7 bridges between Practice Management Systems and CPT code based Billing system.
 Converting HL7 tags to DICOM elements to bridge and store imaging data in PACS system.

Brief Product Description: TSGiView enables a non-DICOM or DICOM ready ophthalmic Instrument to
integrate into IHE Eye Care Workflow. TSGiView have two independent IHE compliant modules.
 PACS:To provide all functions of patient EMR.
 Image Viewing station: For quick access and visualization of patient diagnostic images
TSGiView integrates HL7 and DICOM protocols for exchange of images from medical devices and EMR.
It supports all eye care related DICOM classes in multiple transfer syntaxes for storage including those of
refractive measurements.
Role: I have worked on the following modules:-
 Image Display module: I have designed the user interface to show multiple Eye care Procedures (VFA,
Glaucoma, Slit Lamp, A-Scan, BScan, Prescription, OCT etc) on a single form. A
Doctor/Physicist/Technician can select any procedure from the list of procedures available. He can view
all series of a particular procedure performed on a particular patient. He can also compare the images
between two or more series/dates. He can also compares the images between two modalities (say OCT
and Glaucoma).
 TSG OPD Card Designer and Viewer: Generally every hospital has its own OPD advice card format.
On this card a doctor can put patient demographics such as Patient Name Age, Sex, Diagnosis,
Allergies etc and stick those hardcopy cards in the patient’s file. Due to different card format of
different hospital design of a general electronic form was not possible. Initially this work was done by
taking the soft copy of the OPD card and then converting it into PDF and applying PDF
controls(form fields etc) to take the patient demographics values. But this requires PDF writer
license on the machine which means other cost overhead. I solved this problem by designing an OPD
card designer and viewer. This control removes the extra PDF writer license cost overhead from the
workstation. At present this control is being used by Dr. Benson Ophthalmology Center, US and
Wal-Mart Stores, US.
 Image Marking: A physicist can mark the images by applying various shapes (Rectangles, Ellipses,
Lines, Polygons, Interpolated lines, Zoom In zoom Out, Annotations, Measure length) to show any
critical or explanatory note on various images. All these information is stored as Presentation State IOD
(DICOM object) in the PACS system.
 Classes to Read/Write Encapsulated PDF, Ophthalmic 8-Bit/16- Bit/Tomographic image, Information
Object Definitions (IOD).
 Designed Refractive Measurements Forms (Subjective Refraction, Auto Refraction, Keratometry,
Visual Acuity and Lensometry) in HTML.

Project Radiation Oncology Incident Reporting and Analysis System (RIRAS) Duration 12 Months Team Size 04 Role Systems Analyst (Team Lead) Technology ASP.NET, C#,.NET Framework 4.0, jQuery, Bitbucket Database SQL Server 2008 Client CARS (Center for Assessment of Radiological Science, A Patient Safety Organization, USA) Brief Product Description: Center for Assessment of Radiological Science (CARS) with certification from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is a patient safety organization (PSO) which operates the Radiation Oncology Incident Reporting and Analysis System (RIRAS). This system is used for reporting and learning from radiotherapy adverse events and near miss incidents. The RIRAS system is a web based application that helps the radiation oncology community to maintain and improve patient safety in radiation oncology. Role: I have worked as an offsite Team lead and am responsible for all related development activities as per the requirement specifications provided by University of Wisconsin. The application is hosted on cars- pso.org. Presently the review of this application is carried on by ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology). Project GenXViewer (Silverlight Application) Duration 2 Months Team Size 06 Role Systems Analyst Technology WCF, C#, .NET Framework 4.0 Brief Product Description: GenXViewer is a silverlight application to review the planning done by a physicist on a patient’s CT scans. A physicist can plan the CT scans and submit these DICOM objects to a cloud based central database repository. The person who submits these DICOM objects is called submitter. Later a reviewer who will be sitting at remote location can review the planning done by submitter and give their comments. Based on the comments given by reviewer, a submitter can change/modify the plans. This product is used to improve the patient safety in Radiation Oncology. Role: I was responsible to create a WCF service that handles the request coming from a submitter/reviewer. This service stores the DICOM objects coming from a particular submitter to a cloud based PACS Server/Image Archieve and redirects them to the designated reviewer when they are requested. I also did the configuration settings to communicate Eclipse TPS (Varian Medical Systems) with the GenXViewer, for the transfer of the planned DICOM objects (CT scans, RT structure set). Here GenXViewer played the role of DICOM Storage Service.

It integrates diagnostic imaging with PACS system. The EMR uses HL7 2.1 standard. The EMR is one of the first EMRs to introduce and develop CDA documents for Cataract and General Eye routine examinations. These standards were introduced by IHE in 2011. Role: My role and responsibilities were as follows:-  Designing, development, coding.  Developing HL7 bridges between Practice Management Systems and CPT code based Billing system.  Converting HL7 tags to DICOM elements to bridge and store imaging data in PACS system. Project TSGiView(Windows Application) Duration 24 Months Team Size 04 Role Application Programmer Technology VB.NET,.NET Framework 2.0,3.5,4.0 Tools VSS ,Team Viewer ,VNC Brief Product Description: TSGiView enables a non-DICOM or DICOM ready ophthalmic Instrument to integrate into IHE Eye Care Workflow. TSGiView have two independent IHE compliant modules.  PACS:To provide all functions of patient EMR.  Image Viewing station: For quick access and visualization of patient diagnostic images TSGiView integrates HL7 and DICOM protocols for exchange of images from medical devices and EMR. It supports all eye care related DICOM classes in multiple transfer syntaxes for storage including those of refractive measurements. Role: I have worked on the following modules:-  Image Display module: I have designed the user interface to show multiple Eye care Procedures (VFA, Glaucoma, Slit Lamp, A-Scan, BScan, Prescription, OCT etc) on a single form. A Doctor/Physicist/Technician can select any procedure from the list of procedures available. He can view all series of a particular procedure performed on a particular patient. He can also compare the images between two or more series/dates. He can also compares the images between two modalities (say OCT and Glaucoma).  TSG OPD Card Designer and Viewer: Generally every hospital has its own OPD advice card format. On this card a doctor can put patient demographics such as Patient Name Age, Sex, Diagnosis, Allergies etc and stick those hardcopy cards in the patient’s file. Due to different card format of different hospital design of a general electronic form was not possible. Initially this work was done by taking the soft copy of the OPD card and then converting it into PDF and applying PDF controls(form fields etc) to take the patient demographics values. But this requires PDF writer
  • 5. license on the machine which means other cost overhead. I solved this problem by designing an OPD card designer and viewer. This control removes the extra PDF writer license cost overhead from the workstation. At present this control is being used by Dr. Benson Ophthalmology Center, US and Wal-Mart Stores, US.  Image Marking: A physicist can mark the images by applying various shapes (Rectangles, Ellipses, Lines, Polygons, Interpolated lines, Zoom In zoom Out, Annotations, Measure length) to show any critical or explanatory note on various images. All these information is stored as Presentation State IOD (DICOM object) in the PACS system.  Classes to Read/Write Encapsulated PDF, Ophthalmic 8-Bit/16- Bit/Tomographic image, Information Object Definitions (IOD).  Designed Refractive Measurements Forms (Subjective Refraction, Auto Refraction, Keratometry, Visual Acuity and Lensometry) in HTML. The measurement of Formation properties is done during the evacuation of the hole (LWD Logging while Drilling) or shortly thereafter through the use of tools integrated into bottom hole assembly (Wire Line logging). Role: This application was delivered in two versions: - Windows and Web.
