Government restrictions on food portions
Hook- Drinking chemicals and eating without seeking a source of nourishment has been a part of the normal everyday cycle, will a downsize help a little?
Background information- Fast-food restaurant chains have gone from big portions to enormous portions and it keeps increasing. Statistics show the average American calorie intake has gone 20 percent since 1970, which took it from 2,160 calories to 2,673 daily calories per person. Both plate sizes and portions sizes have increased, even the cups have supersized. Food is fuel for the body, and fast food is not necessarily bad but in most cases it is highly processed and contains large amounts of sugars, unhealthy fats, sodium and carbohydrates. Even though fast food is very high in calories, yet it serves little or no nutritional value. Diseases have increased greatly in number, approximately 10 percent of American adults were classified obese in the 1950’s and in 2012 the CDC reported an approximate 35 percent. The costs of obesity are currently estimated $190 billion per year, and that is more than what is spent on health care for smoking. Fast food is generally more affordable and faster to have and consume, but having high quality foods are more valuable for the body than portion size. Other problems that are associated with low quality food options are laziness, depression, high blood pressure, diabetes and many others.
Thesis- Governments should have restrictions on low nutrient foods and guide people and families to choose a variety of good food options to serve individuals and families. People should eat what energizes them, and not what makes them lazy or sleepy.
Claim 1 – (Growing up) Children do not always understand the health consequences of their eating habits and junk food may appear appetizing and appealing. When they are the choice to eat as much as they want of desserts or chips or candies, children tend to eat more junk food and less fruits and vegetables. They artificial sweeteners can maintain a craving for sweets. Children find the colors and logos of fast food restaurants interesting and easy to spot and remember in a public area, especially when there is an advertisement that is directly for children. However, children that regularly consume fattening fast food can get addicted and this habit could lead to diseases such as obesity, low-self esteem, chronic illness and depression. It can also affect their academic and physical performance.
Children learn eating habits from the family table.
Evidence (3) (Laziness) According to Women’s and Children Health Network, diet has an important effect on children’s study habits. Food options with higher level of sugar can lower the ability to concentrate for a longer period of time, which is needed in school. Physical activity is crucial for everyone and eating junk food on a regular basis does not provide the nutrients needed for sufficient energy level to engage and perform in physical ...

How to Build a Module in Odoo 17 Using the Scaffold MethodCeline George
Odoo provides an option for creating a module by using a single line command. By using this command the user can make a whole structure of a module. It is very easy for a beginner to make a module. There is no need to make each file manually. This slide will show how to create a module using the scaffold method.
This presentation was provided by Steph Pollock of The American Psychological Association’s Journals Program, and Damita Snow, of The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), for the initial session of NISO's 2024 Training Series "DEIA in the Scholarly Landscape." Session One: 'Setting Expectations: a DEIA Primer,' was held June 6, 2024.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

8. Before eating food sold by vendors on the street,
you should be aware that nearly all of this food and water is
contaminated by toxic residue. If you choose to eat at home,
you still have a 35 percent chance of eating rice which has
been contaminated by lead. If egg dishes are your fancy,
there is also a high probability that they have been
contaminated by various chemicals, regardless of whether
they are eaten at home or on the street.
9. It seems that nothing is safe, for even fruits, instant foods,
and beans may have been exposed to toxins at some point in
the production process. In the 1994-1995 survey by the Food Analysis
Division of the Department of Medical Science, it was revealed that
contaminated food is still very much a problem in the capital.
According to Supatra Im-urb of the Food Analysis Division,
there are two ways food can become contaminated: by chemicals
or heavy metals, or by microbes.
10. Lead is the main type of heavy metal contamination.
The survey indicated that nearly one hundred percent of
food samples taken from street vendors contain concentrations
of lead. Drinking water is easily contaminated in this way.
The source of this pollution is, of course, traffic congestion.
Every day automobiles release high levels of lead into the air
we breathe, which is why most food and drink sold by
street vendors was shown to contain traces of the substance.

1) 35% of rice eaten at home has been contaminated by lead.
2) there is high probability that fancy egg dishes are contaminated.

food and water.

understand basic nutrition. They skip breakfast and choose too many
high-fat foods when snacking or eating at fast-food restaurants.
Perhaps the worst offenders use teenage girls who diet all the time,
avoiding healthy foods they think are “too fattening”
13. Good eating habits begin in early childhood, and that’s
when parents should start setting a good example. During the
teenage years, however, parents have to be more subtle about
guiding food choices. They can’t control what teens eat-during
the day. But they can offer healthy choices at home.
14. Teens are impulsive eater, usually munching on
what’s right at hand. So stock the refrigerator with healthy
snacks (juice, cheese, or fruit). Serve a nutritious dinner
(this may be the only time of day your teen is offered
vegetables) and try to make mealtime enjoyable. Also,
be flexible about the time you eat dinner, taking into
account a teenager’s often hectic schedule.
