Garrett Hare's senior project involved building a freestyle BMX bicycle. His project facilitator was Jonathan Vejjajiva, the manager of Free-Flite Bicycles. Garrett wrote a research paper on the basics of bicycle construction, riding, and the history of BMX. After high school, he plans to open his own bicycle shop in Canton, Ohio where he will work on, build, and maintain mountain bikes, cruisers, and BMX bikes. For his project, Garrett stripped the paint from parts of the bike, sanded everything down, and painted the frame, spokes, and rims.
