Dot 2 Dot game….
Main experience:
To create a top down 3D puzzle adventure game that takes
the idea of making a dot 2 dot image via player movement
in an environment.
The player’s goal is to connect the dots via a wire that they
trail and throw behind their player character.
Screen shot from my prototype: the player runs along the ground finding the dots in the correct
sequence, connecting them.
Technical and artistic aspects:
Technical:
At the start, the player will have a rope/wire tied to
the adjacent pole, player will move around to locate
the next pole while carrying the rope.
If player does not connect the ropes in consecutive
order, that rope connection will change from black
to red and disappear if player does not fix it.
Also for feedback, the player’s mouse tracking item
will work like a metal detector as the color will
gradient brighter to show the player is getting
closer to their target.
Art:
Visually this game will be very simple and make
tweaks to existing top down view. Textures and
colors will contrast to make player see the
connection they are making between dots.
