The teacher conducted an exercise to demonstrate racism to her students by favoring those with brown eyes over those with blue eyes, replicating the mistreatment people of color often faced. She divided the class based on eye color, disrespecting and tormenting the blue-eyed students to illustrate what it can feel like to be judged for inherent attributes outside of one's control. The student felt the teacher effectively taught the class an important lesson about racism through this powerful reenactment of discriminatory behavior.

- 1. Kwesi Wilkerson FYS Eye response In response to the eye video, I felt that the teacher was reenacting racism that still happens today, but was seen more in the earlier days. I believe she taught the students a valuable lesson on what it was like to be mistreated because of something that’s constant and is a particle of an individual. The teacher’s demonstration divided the brown eyed students from the blue. The students with the blue eyes were disrespected compared to the people with brown. The teacher acted as if she despised the student with blue eyes and tormented them.
