This document summarizes various physical and health hazards. It lists examples of explosives, flammable gases and liquids, oxidizing substances, self-reactive substances, and gases under pressure. It also provides examples of hazards like skin corrosion, serious eye damage, respiratory sensitization, reproductive toxicity, and carcinogenicity. The document includes references for further information on hazard classifications.
SPICE is a general-purpose circuit simulation program used to simulate nonlinear DC, nonlinear transient, and linear AC analyses. It was developed in the 1970s at the University of California, Berkeley to save money by simulating circuits instead of physically building them. SPICE allows users to place circuit components graphically, change simulation parameters easily, and run simulations to obtain output, helping engineers learn circuit behavior without physical construction.
The document discusses how the student's music video conforms to conventions of real music videos. It illustrates the lyrics visually through images that match the descriptive lyrics. It also uses techniques like fast cuts and shaky camera during musical climaxes to match the music's pace. Color filters are applied to signify changes in the music. Voyeurism is heavily used by peering into private spaces like through windows and over shoulders. Intertextual references to games and albums are also included in the album packaging design.

he adoption rate of the BVP/PIPS or the Best Value approach (Kashiwagi 2010) has been rather high in the Netherlands (van de Rijt & Santema 2012). One of the largest industrial companies in the Netherlands, Tata Steel in IJmuiden (part of Tata Steel Group) has applied the principles of BVP/PIPS to select a vendor for a sewer renovation. BVP/PIPS is a procurement method that aims to select the most suitable vendor for the job, to spur this vendor on to highest performance, and to reduce the client’s management and control tasks. The case shows that a different way of procuring by the client leads to different behavior of the vendor and to a higher performance of the vendor and less risk.
- 64% of individual stocks underperformed the market index over their lifetime, with 18.6% dramatically underperforming. In contrast, 6.1% of stocks dramatically outperformed the index.
- The average annualized return of individual stocks was negative 1.06%, while the median was a more modest 5.1%. However, 25% of stocks were responsible for all of the market's gains.
- The distribution of returns is characterized as "fat tailed", with a small number of stocks delivering outsized gains and losses, challenging the assumption of a normal distribution.
Presented in this short document is a description of what is called a “Pipeline Scheduling Optimization Problem” and was first described in Rejowski and Pinto (2003) where they modeled the first-in-first-out (FIFO) and multi-product nature of the segregated pipeline using both discretized space (multi-batches, packs or pipes) and time (multi-intervals, slots or periods). The same MILP model can also be found in Zyngier and Kelly (2009) along with other related production/process objects.

A call to librarians to use their library powers in the community beyond the walls of their institutions as the open data folks need their knowledge!
Title:
Open Sesame: Open Data, Data Liberation and New Opportunities for Libraries
Abstract:
Cities and data producers are quickly embracing Open Data, albeit unevenly. The Data Liberation Initiative (DLI) has been a pioneer in broadening access to data for nearly two decades. This session will examine the relevance of Data Liberation in terms of Open Data and explore how librarians can step up to the plate to make Open Data/Open Government as successful as DLI.
Speakers:
- Wendy Watkins, Data Librarian, Carleton University
- Ernie Boyko, Adjunct Data Librarian, Carleton University
- Tracey P. Lauriault, Post Doctoral Fellow, Carleton University (tlauriau@gmail.com)

The blog Thrive was created in 2012 by the CGIAR Research Program on Water, Land and Ecosystems to further discussion around agriculture, ecosystems, and sustainability. Over its first 3 years, it published 369 posts from 174 authors from 76 organizations, receiving over 280,000 pageviews. It succeeded in engaging researchers and furthering discourse on important issues. Looking ahead, it plans to continue serving as an open forum while exploring partnerships and themes like WLE's Phase 2 research and the impacts of the Anthropocene on sustainable intensification. Budget constraints require examining opportunities for cost-sharing and involvement from other programs.

Breaking Down Silos: How to Win at Digtial MarketingJonathan Crannage
How encouraging collaboration and utilising talent & skills across teams has fostered a creative and successful approach to digital marketing at Loughborough University.
Social networking has become a major phenomenon, with over half of adults maintaining profiles and spending significant time engaged in online communities. While social media is popular among students and allows for collaboration and sharing, there are also risks to using these sites for educational purposes, such as a lack of instructor knowledge, content being publicly visible, and students not wanting to mix personal and school tools. Educators should consider both the advantages of actively engaging students online where they already spend time, as well as strategies to address risks like maintaining privacy and separating personal and academic use of social networks.
This document provides an agenda and information about assignments for an educational webinar on social media applications. It includes discussions on new digital learning, the digital divide, cyberbullying, and online safety. There are three main assignments: a social media project, a digital citizenship project, and an acceptable use policy project. The social media project involves creating a personal plan for using a social media site focused on a selected topic. The digital citizenship project is designing a public service campaign to promote safe and responsible social media use. The acceptable use policy project involves researching and developing a policy for social media use in education.

Creative Commons Open Business Models, Case Studies, & FindingsPaul_Stacey
Presentation given at Open Education Conference 2015 in Vancouver British Columbia, November 19, 2015.
Description: In March of 2015, with support from the Hewlett Foundation, Creative Commons launched an open business model initiative aimed squarely at showing how Creative Commons licenses can, and are, used by business, nonprofits and governments. This initiative emerged out of a need to show how organizations and creators can produce OER and other Creative Commons licensed works in a way that generates social good in sustainable and financially sound ways.
Creative Commons open business model initiative is being done in an interactive community-based way using an open business model canvas and an online community for sharing and discussion. Creative Commons directly collaborates with organizations using a process that supports both autonomous and collaborative design, development of open business model designs, and ensuing analysis of the results.
In this panel presentation, organizations who worked with Creative Commons to generate an open business model will share their experience. They will describe their motivations, explain how they engaged in the Creative Commons open business model process, outline what they learned, and reveal new opportunities and directions they took as a result.
Creative Commons will describe the tools and processes it used and how those tools and processes evolved and changed through community interaction. Latest versions of tools and process will be compared to starting ones and made available to all participants. Analysis insights from both panel organizations and Creative Commons will be shared.
Creative Commons will outline open business models lessons learned, the types and categories of open business models that emerged, and summarize key findings. Next steps, opportunities for participation and future plans will be described.
Attendees of this session will gain:
- an understanding of the open business model initiative and process
- hands on access to the open business model canvas and other tools they can use to develop their own open business model
- knowledge and insights into how open business models work
- strategies and tactics they can incorporate into their own open business model initiative
- the opportunity to get involved in the initiative in an open and collaborative way
