3. Federal Trade Commission
 The new web-based guidance tool was created
by The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to help
developers of health-related apps navigate the
complicated list of federal laws and regulations.
Developed in partnership with the Department of
Health and Human Services, the Food and Drug
Administration, and the Office for Civil Rights, the
tool asks developers 10 basic questions related
to the nature and function of the app. Based on
the answers to the questions, the tool identifies
specific federal laws that developers should
carefully review.
