The Unplanned Christian
Life1. We can live randomly and ignorantly, driven here and there
by our lusts, desires, impulses and resentments.
2. We can live materialistic and meaningless lives chasing
money and fashions and driven by the need to meet the
social expectations of friends and relatives.
3. We can live legalistically by religious or philosophical rules
and be driven by guilt instead of by God.
4. We fall into these spiritual traps because we do not
CONSCIOUSLY PLAN to live a fully Christian life!
1. We need to be “grown-ups” and mature, in charge of our
lives, planning them by Christian principles, not blown
here and there by this-and-that!
2. We need to change and to live ‘from the inside out’
expressing who we were made to be in Christ ,and
making our plans and lifestyle choices accordingly.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for
good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we
should walk in them.
(Ephesians 2:10)

Living From The Inside
Out
You Are A Child Of God
1. Cats acts like cats, dogs act like dogs, and
Christians should act like Christ because they are
sons of the Living God!
2. Plan, think and act like a son or daughter of God
not like one whose life is entirely in this world
John 1:12
Galatians 3:26, 4:6,
Philippians 2:15
You Were Born To Love!
1. You were born-again to give and receive God’s love and to
live in love.
2. All our plans are to be loving plans
3. We need to actively plan loving actions otherwise busyness,
laziness and selfishness will naturally squeeze them out.
4. Promises that are not planned, end up being perjury!
5. The plans don’t have to be “huge” !
6. The plans need to be practical and to meet some real need.
1 John 4:7-12
1 John 3:16-18
Christians Plan By
Faith Romans 1:17
Galatians 2:20
2 Corinthians 5:7
1. Believers live from faith and to faith!
2. Christians live by faith not by sight
3. Christians plan first by faith, and then we apply reason and
due diligence - look to God, look in the Bible, look at the
details of the situation, and then make a strong decision.
4. Our plans should always keep God in mind
5. Our plans should keep God’s promises in mind and be
formulated so as to fulfill them.
In The “Rest Of
Faith” Colossians 2:21-23
Hebrews 4:9,10
1. Living strictly by rules is impossible.
2. Living by external rules is joyless and harsh and produces a
dark overwhelming sense of general condemnation.
3. Faith in God’s love and grace enables us to feel clean and
loved and whole as persons. We should plan from a place of
peace and rest inside us that comes from faith in Jesus.
4. We should plan our lives without feeling guilty and without
using words like “should, must, ought to, got to, have to, but
I’ll be a bad person if I don’t do X”. We should, of course seek
to live good and righteous lives.
In The Holy Spirit
1. We are to be “led by the Spirit” which means
that we are to make our plans by the generosity
and love of the Spirit (and not out of the carnal,
selfish meanness of the flesh).
2. Greedy plans are not godly plans.
3. Start with the fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace
etc. Are your plans loving, joyful, peaceful, good,
kind, faithful and so on.
Galatians 5:16-26
In Resurrection Power
Philippians 3:7-11
1. Christians dwell in a different dimension, we are
Citizens of Heaven who live by the power of His
(Jesus’) resurrection. This is hard to understand.
2. Sometimes we have to lose some things in order to
gain Christ, and we have to die to our old self in
order to find our true selves. We might have to
come to an end of one thing in order to come into
an even better thing.
3. We humans can only “connect the dots”
concerning the past, we have to trust God to
“connect the dots” into the future.
Anointed and Appointed
1 John 2:20,27
1 Corinthians 12:27,28
1. Every true born-again Christian has a
Holy Spirit anointing and a Holy Spirit
gifting.
2. We are to make plans according to where
God has positioned us in His body the
church e.g. teaching, hospitality, healing ,
as an anointed worship leader or anointed
prayer warrior and so on.
3. Seeking “position” and “permission” can
be a huge distraction!
Prayer
Heavenly Father, please give us the wisdom,
and the strength of purpose, to make loving
and godly plans this year.
Plans that are full of the Holy Spirit.
And plans which are true to who you have
made us to be in Christ Jesus.
In Jesus’ precious Name, Amen.
