Based on a 2013 holiday shopping survey by Discover Financial Services: between $100 and $300 will be spent on holiday hosting by many consumers; online sales are expected to increase by 20% compared to Thanksgiving the previous year; mobile devices are used for 62% of insurance-related activities and looking up coupons while shopping; and fewer consumers plan to eat out due to financial concerns but most would pay more for a better shopping experience. The survey also found that Apple had over X million customer accounts on file at the time.
