The Moulin Rouge was a cabaret and dance hall in Paris built in 1889 by Joseph Oller. It did not solve any problems but originated the energetic can-can dance typically performed by a chorus line of women wearing long skirts and stockings. Visiting the Moulin Rouge would have been entertaining to experience the traditional dancing, costumes, and music.
