MARKET WRAP
Nifty and Sensex were closed green; up 2.40%, 2.26% resp. this week.
US Unemployment Rate at 360K and AU Home loans m/m 1.8%.
Euro & U.S markets were green; while Asian markets were also green last week.
Indian equity markets ended green on Friday; on this week the Sensex and Nifty
were in bullish trend. Major sector which were up like IT Index, Pharma Index, Banking Index
and Top gainers are Infosys (up 14.17%), HCL Techn.(up 8.41%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up
7.89%), Reliance Infra (up 7.05%), TCS (up 5.21%), Sun Pharma (up 7.04%), Sesa Goa (up

On the economic front, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) for the month of May 2013 as
reported by the Central Statistics Office .The Index for the month of May 2013 stands at
167.6, which is 1.6% lower as compared to the level in the month of May 2012. The
cumulative growth for the period April-May 2013-14 over the corresponding period of the
previous year stands at 0.1%.
The government has drawn up a plan to remove bottlenecks holding back investment in
manufacturing at the state level, a move aimed at revitalising the flagging sector by aligning
states’ approach with the long-term strategy of the Centre. The rupee depreciation is likely to
hurt the inflation fight and restrict the Reserve Bank from cutting its policy rates at the
forthcoming monetary policy review by month end, says ratings agency Crisil.
