1. Building a Better Future
And Shorter Supply Chains
Frank Dale has been on the front foot with our customers and suppliers. We have done this because we want
to keep our customers updated. Frank Dale have had all products containing beef DNA tested and today test
results in show no evidence of cross-contamination with horsemeat. We are now waiting for further FSA
announcements.
For more than 20 years Frank Dale has believed that being a responsible family food and farming business
means far more than just legal compliance. It is, and always has been, an integral part of who we are and what
we are about. We have always bought local ingredients from people with passion, which even before the
horsemeat scandal, created shorter supply chains, this has now been set out as our top new sourcing criteria.
Our culture and five founding Principles are the values that guide us and protect our business. These have
existed since we first established and were again further re-energised in 2012. They are second nature to us all
and are at the very heart of everything we do.
In May 2012 we also launched the Diamond Standard, which is our ‘Measure of Excellence’; we have been
building and strengthening the Diamond Quality strategy which is under the responsibility of the Managing
Director along with the technical manager, operations manager and sales & marketing manager reporting into
the Board for Governance & Ethics each month.
In November 2012 Frank Dale also launched the ‘13 Product Development Criteria’ and committed to the MD’s
Vision for 2013 – ‘The Year of Outstanding Quality & Performance’, this is a natural evolution to the way in
which we wish to operate, and are now even more passionate about taking even more steps supporting British
Food and Farming.
In December 2012, we launched the new vision with a strategic and special focus on enhancing even further our
Products and raw material quality and consistency. As proof of our commitment we have developed clear
measurable targets for outstanding quality and performance.
All our people are a real asset of the company and as guardians of our values, together; we have pledged to
make a re-invigorated contribution to supply chain, for our
customers, through increasing support to trustworthy
suppliers and local business partners wherever possible.
