Advantages And Disadvantages Of Pesticides
Pesticides are the only toxic substances released intentionally into our environment to kill living
things.
A pesticide is any substance used to kill, repel, or control certain forms of plant or animal life
that is pests. Pesticides include herbicides for destroying weeds and other unwanted vegetation,
insecticides for controlling a wide variety of insects, fungicides used to prevent the growth of
molds and mildew, disinfectants for preventing the spread of bacteria, and compounds used to
control mice and rats. Because of the widespread use of agricultural chemicals in food production,
people are exposed to low levels of pesticide residues through their diets. We cannot syet have a
clear understanding of the health effects of these pesticide residues. Other evidence suggests that
children are very susceptible to adverse effects from exposure to pesticides, including neurological
developmental effects.

Benefits
There are many positive effects of using pesticides and the environment is getting the direct or
indirect results of pesticide application.
One of the important benefit of pesticide use is the eradication of certain species which cause
threats to forest trees. Example, budworms or loopers can kill thousands of trees due to defoliation.
To overcome this, scientists have studied the Bacillus thuringiensis var. a bacterium that naturally
occurs in the environment. It will kill insects, hemlock looper, larvae, and budworms.

Comparison Of The Lost Generation In The Great Gatsby
The 1920s witnessed a dramatic social and political change. The nation s total wealth had doubled
between 1920 and 1929, and this economic growth swept many Americans into an affluent but
unfamiliar consumer society. Moreover, The Lost Generation represented a group of writers in
1920s who shared the belief that they were lost in a greedy, materialistic world that lacked moral
values and often choose to flee to Europe. And one particular example was F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald was the only son of an unsuccessful father and a provincial mother.
His father was obsessed with the literature in his time, so he named Fitzgerald after the author of
The Star Spangled Banner , Francis Scott Key. He spent two years of... Show more content on

In July 1918, while he was stationed near Montgomery, Alabama, he met Zelda Sayre, the
daughter of an Alabama Supreme Court judge. They fell deeply in love, and, as soon as he
could, Fitzgerald headed for New York determined to achieve instant success and to marry
Zelda. In 1920, their marriage was held and spent most of his life with Zelda in New York. Zelda
was a wild child, who smoked, drank alcohol, and snuck out of her parents house to spend time
with boys when she was in high school. Her friends described her as fearless, daring, and
attention seeking. Their marriage was incredibly tumultuous. It was reportedly a toxic marriage,
complete with alcoholism, mutual infidelity, and jealousy. . In 1924, Fitzgerald got a flight to
France and joined The Lost Generation . Then, in 1934, he published Tender is the Night ,
which described this society. In 1930, Zelda suffered her first nervous breakdown and moved to
various clinics in Switzerland. Fitzgerald published the short story One Trip Abroad, about an
American couple who fall apart in Europe. Then he met Ernest Hemingway and had a rocky
friendship with him. However, Zelda was over jealous and accused her husband of having a gay
relationship with his friend and fellow writer Ernest Hemingway. And in the end, he died of a heart
attack while writing his last novel, The Last Tycoon.

Betrayal And Deception In Macbeth
Betray a friend, and you ll often find you ruined yourself, once said Aesop. There are
consequences of betraying and deceiving a friend, and it will change one s life for the worse. One
author who emphasizes the ideal of betrayal and deception is Shakespeare, and it can be seen
throughout the play Macbeth. In the play, Macbeth was an honored and respected high ranking
noble in King Duncan s eyes, and betrayed his king to gain power. Macbeth and his fellow, Banquo
were told by mysterious witches that Macbeth would be crowned king. The prediction from the
witches gave Macbeth and Lady Macbeth a dangerous dose of ambition, which led to them killing
the ones closest to them to become king, including King Duncan and Banquo. Throughout Macbeth,
Shakespeare illustrates the concept... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Human nature is centered covering up one s flaws and Macbeth s ambition for power lead him
to kill King Duncan s servants to cover up his own murder, O, yet I do repent me fof my fury,
that I did kill them (Shakespeare II.3.106 107) Macbeth admitted. He admitted to killing the
servants because they killed King Duncan only to cover up his deed, shows his acts of deceit.
Along with covering flaws, human nature emphasizes on the positives of a bad choice and blocks
out the negatives. Macbeth killed Banquo to make sure no one is in the way of him gaining
power, and looked beyond betraying and hurting his best friend and Macbeth tells the murders, It is
concluded. Banquo, thy soul s flight, if it find heaven, must find it out tonight (Shakespeare III.2.

someone you hate, even if they are innocent or have done no wrong. Macbeth decided to murder

Fate And Chance In Hiroshima, By John Hersey
In the novel, Hiroshima by John Hersey, the importance of fate and chance is illustrated
throughout the lives of the survivors from the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings in 1945.
There are several coincidental events that seem too fictional to be believed. The survivors of the
bomb include Miss Toshiko Sasaki, a clerk in the personnel department of the East Asia Tin
Works; Dr. Masakazu Fujii, a physician who owned a private hospital; Mrs. Hatsuyo Nakamura,
a tailor s widow and a mother of three; Father Wilhelm Kleinsorge, a German priest of the Society
of Jesus; Dr. Terufumi Sasaki, a young surgeon of the city s Red Cross Hospital; and The Reverend
Mr. Kiyoshi Tanimoto, pastor of the HiroshimaMethodist Church. (p. 1 4) Out of the one hundred

Pros And Cons Of Genetic Counseling
Prompt I On July 27th, 1997, my life and my family s lives changed. My mother received a
phone call from my pediatrician, letting her know that her three year old daughter had a
positive result for cystic fibrosis (CF). When she describes that moment in her life, she says that
it was the most stressful time she can remember. As a pharmacist, she had always known what
CF was but she had no idea how to raise a child who had been diagnosed with it. To ease her
mind my pediatrician referred her to a genetic counselor (GC). I was three when I was sitting
across from a genetic counselor, so I never knew what the role of a genetic counselor was or any
specifics of the profession. When I was in high school my mom mentioned her visit to a genetic
counselor and I asked her to expand on that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of the relationship between GC and consultand, items discussed would include: medical
history, genetic history, familyhistory, and risk assessment. If a consultand is seeing a GC that
specializes in cancer, cancer will be the main focus of that conversation. If a consultand is seeing
pre natal counselor, family histories of miscarriages, autosomal disorders, and congenital
malformations will be the topics of conversation. The influence of genetics on the life of the
consultand is the main goal of the professional relationship. This kind of relationship is also
defined by its limitations. According to the National Society of Genetic Counselors, a genetic
counselor is someone who uses the process of helping people understand and adapt to the medical,
psychological, and familial implications of the genetic contributions to disease . These main goals
of a genetic counselor outline the limitations of the relationship. All professions that involve one on

Theft Definition Essay
Criminal Law, 26/04/11, Dr.Filletti
Theft
No definition of the offence of theft; Carrara gives us a definition which has been taken up by our
courts, The malicious taking of an object belonging to others without the owner s consent with the
intent to make gain. This is the definition which our court uses, our law simply creates one
distinction for these offences. The law creates two types of theft: Simple Theft and Aggravated
Theft.
Simple Theft:
First element is contrectazio this is the taking away, this element has 3 schools of thought: 1.
Carrara: Says amozio (movement), as soon as you have movement of the object, or as soon as the
offender lays his hands on the object and simply moves it the offence of theft is complete. ... Show

Violence: Manzini writes that violenece doesn t have to be addressed to the victim but against any
other person present during the crime. This is because the fundamental element of aggravation and
applies to all aggravations is that the aggravation must have facilitated the commission of the
crime. This was established in Pulizija vs Emmanuel Testa, Testa was a bus conductor who was
charged with violent indecent assault for having groped an 18 year old s breast on a bus. Was
charged with violent indecent assault aggravated by a public office, the fact alone that he was a
bus conductor, as a public officer. But this position as a public did not facilitate the aggravation
and the court agreed that it did not facilitate the crime. So he couldn t get an aggravation because
he was a public officer.
Our law speaks of bodily harm or threats of bodily harm, there must be real or perceived bodily
harm. What is essential is that this threat must necessarily be an influence on the victim s mind.
Violence can be used against a thing in so far as it instils fear of further harm to one s self. The
violence and the threat has to be such that it instils fear into the victim.
Another form is violenza numerica , more than 2 thieves present themselves. By the term present
themselves they don t need to know they are all there, the victim has to know there are more than
two they need not be in front of the victim. The rule is that you have to be

Annabel Beam s Life In The Movie Miracles From Heaven
Miracles still exist in today s world and Annabel Beam s story is a very touching and exceptional
example of one as portrayed in the movie, Miracles from Heaven . Annabel had an incurable
condition that was likely to lead to death but Jesus changed her life. What should have been a
deadly accident cured Annabel and when she awoke she had been to Heaven and back. Jesushad
spoken to her and told her that he was going to heal her, and that he did. Annabel experienced a
true miraclein which her incurable condition was cured. She met with Jesus in Heaven and her
whole life was changed in one accident where the result contradicted natural law, making it a
miracle. Annabels life was turned upside down at age four when her stomach and intestines began
not working correctly. Annabel s mom, Christy, told MOnique Crawford about her daughter s
condition, ...pseudo obstruction motility disorder, which is an incurable condition that had plagued
Annabel her entire life. This led to many emergency surgeries and lots of time spent at the doctors
office. Due to Annabel s condition, prior to the fall, she was unable to live a normal life as Kathy
Schiffer explains, Despite taking ten prescription medications, she still couldn t eat or drink
normally and she required a feeding tube. Annabels life was moving closer to death when at age
eight she went outside to climb a tree for fun. Suddenly the branch she was sitting on snapped and

Argumentative Essay On The Insanity Defense
The insanity defense is very controversial topic because it misunderstood. Society has long
recognized the need for judges and juries to discern which defendant are criminals responsible.
Many people do not understand therefore do not support it. The insanity defense is a defense
available to individuals who committed a crime but are not found criminally responsible reason
due to insanity. It is rarely used but when it is it stirs controversy. When it is used it has a low
chance of it being successful, a twenty six percent chance (Fersch, 2005). Some famous cases
where the insanity defensewas successful are; the officer Robert Tornsey case and the John
Hinckley Jr. case. In both cases the individual was sent to a mental institution. There are some
cases that weren t as successful; the Esposito brother s case, Dan White case, John DuPont case,
and the Jeffrey Dahmer case. More times than not it is unsuccessful. The insanity defense is kept
in place to keep a moral check on a system to humanize the criminal system. The insanity defense
should not be abolished because it gives people a second chance, people who are insane are not
aware of their actions, mentally ill people cannot control their impulses, taking the insanity defense
away is a cruel thing to do, insanity affects competence, mentally ill people are vulnerable, and the
insanity defense keeps the people out of jail.
Background: In 1843 Daniel M Naghten attempted to kill Robert Peel, the British prime
minister, but shoot his secretary instead. His defense team argued that he was insane because of
his paranoid ideation, the judge found him non responsible. Fersch states Subsequently because
of outrage at the acquittal, a panel of judges responded to house of lords questions and set forth
the test that will be known as the M Naghten test (fersch, 2005). In 1851, the M Naghten rules
were adopted in the federal and most of the state courts of the United States. Under the prevailing
M Naghten standard a person cannot be convicted if, at the time the criminal act was committed,
that person was laboring under such a defect of reason as not to know the nature of the act he or
she was doing. The word know has been a source of controversy and criticism

The Immigration Of Americ The Land Of The Free
The idea of immigration to America has been an extremely important part of the history of the
country for hundreds of years. Some of the original immigrants to America were the settlers in
1607, when a group of men from England started a colony admits the swamplands of current day
Virginia. Several years later in 1620, a group of puritans known as the Pilgrims also made their
way to America to start a new life. Since then, millions have traveled across the ocean in hope of a

Almost immediately after settlers started immigrating to America, Christian missionaries
followed closely behind, feeling it was their duty in the eyes of God to witness to the native
people, and tell them about what they believed to be the one and only true religion. Father
Joseph LeCaron was one of the first missionaries to come to America in the year 1615 (21).
Several years later in 1665, Father Claude Allouez also traveled from France to the Great Lakes
when he first encountered some Natives and their religious practices. He explains in a letter to
his superiors in France that the natives were worshiping a lake. The savages revere this lake as a
divinity and offer it sacrifices, whether on account of its size, or because of its goodness in
furnishing fish...One often finds at the bottom of the water pieces of pure copper...I have several
times seen such pieces in the savages hands; and, since they are superstitious, they keep them as so
many divinities or as presents which the gods dwelling beneath the water have given them and on
which their welfare is to depend (Primary Document, 13). Another primary document dating back
to the year 1669, tells of when Adrien Jolliet, a French explorer and missionary encountered a
group of Natives practicing their religion. He explains in his writing that he and his men had to set

INTRO 500words
For my Personal Interest Project I have chosen to study extreme altruism, people who risk their for
the good of another person. The reasoning that got my attention at choosing this topic was that of a
personal family death which involved Altruism that occurred when I was younger.
My links to the course are conformity and non conformity, continuity and change and how people
behave in groups, also what aspect of identity or self encourages some to care to the extreme and
express a willingness to risk their life while others do not. My link to continuity and change
focuses on past generation and whether people were more or less likely inclined to help others.
My research methods include interviews, data analysis and a questionnaire. I used interviews to
create three case studies about people who have risked their life to save other people. Data
analysis was used to analyse the nature of recipients of the 2015 bravery awards in Australia and
to establish any trends in the nature of the altruistic behaviour. My questionnaire involved 540
respondents, chosen from a variety of workplaces, schoolmates and family and friends in a
provincial city, I chose this technique as it allows me to get a more accurate first person response
and gives me an access a range of opinions.

The Effects Of Parental Involvement On Student s...
A.
Share something that you learner from the webcast that was new to you. Then, talk about ways that
you see yourself using that information within your school setting.
The webcast was very informative. A few factors that were shared never crossed my mind as being
influential in regards to parental involvement. The webcast suggested that the student s attendance
rate was greatly influenced by the involvement of their parents in their educational process.
However, this statement makes sense, but it s never crossed my mind. The webcast also shared that
a student s attitude towards their educational endeavors was also a direct relationship with the
degree of parental involvement in the student s education. Subsequently, the webcast also shared
that the more parental involvement the student has from their family; the chances of experiencing
discipline problems decrease. It s amazing how the involvement of the parents can cause a student
to have such a positive disposition towards their education. Parental involvement shows the students
that the parents are serious regarding their educational career; as a result it makes the student more
accountable for their education.
The webcast also shed some light on the phrase parental involvement. At first glance, most people
simply think that parents volunteering, sending in school supplies, attending PTA meeting, taking
part in parent teacher conferences sufficed as parental involvement. However, this is not the case at
all. Parental

How Does Stephen Albert Create A Labyrinth
Simultaneous Futures: The Role of Time in The Garden of the Forking Paths In The Garden of the
Forking Paths by Jorge Luis Borges, Stephen Albert is studying the work of TsК№ui PГЄn. His
work is not only a book, but also a labyrinth. Many people think that the book and the labyrinth are
two different things, but Stephen Albert has a different theory; it is the theory of a never ending
book. It is never ending because TsК№ui PГЄn has chosen all possible futures simultaneously.
TsК№ui PГЄn has written a book and a labyrinth, which is a never ending story of endless possible
futures that demonstrates the possibility for many different futures in real life. TsК№ui PГЄn has
written a never ending book that he also classifies as a labyrinth. Albert has just met Dr. Yu Tsun
and is discussing with him the works of his ancestor, TsК№ui PГЄn. Albert, while showing Dr. Yu
Tsun the labyrinth, says, К»TsК№ui PГЄn must have said once: I am withdrawing to write a book.

Density Investigation

Are these Objects Made of the Same Material?
Every substance has its own unique density due to all of the atoms mass, size, and arrangement
being different for each atom. Density is the relationship between two characteristics of matter
which are mass and the occupied space. Density is a characteristic property, meaning the density of
a substance will stay the same. In an investigation the objects densities would be calculated to
determine whether the objects are made of the same material. The objects are all different colors,
sizes, textures and shapes. In order to find density, the mass and volume would need to be
calculated.
In order to calculate the density of an object two things must be calculated the mass and volume of
the object. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The blue object has a density of 1.19g/cm3, while the black object has a density of 1.41g/cm3, and
the clear object has a density of 1.04g/cm3. Although the density difference is in the tenths it still is
a difference in the densities. For example, the difference in the density of neon versus sodium is
0.03 which is a small difference and because of the different densities the two substances are
completely different. The measurement of the volume in mL could have been better if the 10mL
graduated cylinder was used in place of the 50 mL. The calipers and graduated cylinder only
measures to the tenths which does not give as precise measurements as the balance. The human
error causes the non identical cm3 to mL measurement of the same objects causing a slight
difference in the densities of the same object. When comparing my data to another group doing the
same experiment I found a possible miscalculation of volume in mL for the clear object in my own
experiment. Aside from the possible miscalculation, the volume measured in the other group was to
the ones place of a number while our group measured to the tenths place. Since the top loader
balance the other group used was different, the masses were also different in the hundredths. They
also stated that the objects are made of the same material which according to their data is not

Hinduism Is The Major Religion Of India And Is Monism Essay

Masculinity In Bhagavad Gita
In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna is transforming Arjuna masculinity through persuading him to follow
his dharmic duty, discovering the true meaning of his actions for the killing and displaying his
divine supreme being. According to Arjuna, the war was pointless; due to his false dharmic belief,
which is killing his family is not what a man does. Krishnaconfronts Arjunaby explaining his pure
dharmic duty; a wise man is untouched by the misperception of ideas and is united merely to do the
right thing without considering the consequences. Meaning a masculine character follows his
dharmic duty without thinking about the odds, this in a way penetrates Arjuna masculinity because

Cosmogony myths and stories are seen throughout many cultures and religions and more often then

Hesiodic, Platonic and Biblical cosmogonies and why this may be, focusing on divine
craftsmanship/creation of the world, the creation of man and woman and paradise and the humans

Although all traditions have chaos brought to order the obvious difference between having
creators and Gaia mother earth, is the idea of this ordered world being innately good or bad. The
creator myths paint the world as inherently good, for example, in Genesis it is Yahweh s will that
the universe would be good and God saw that it was good (Genesis 1.10 ). Similarly in the Timaeus,
Plato has the Demiurge and the idea of good fused together He was good... and being free from
jealousy he desired that all things be like himself (Timaeus 4). In contrast to the above examples,
Hesiod s Theogony holds a very pessimistic view of the world explaining it to be inherently bad.
This is particularly seen in his account of the five ages of men, which will be discussed later,
and in the generational rivalry that is ongoing from the beginning of the myth. It is suggested by
E.E Pender that Plato s Timaeus myth is aiming to replace the moral chaos that is seen in the
Theogony, as he could not believe that the world is built around deception and violence. It can be
argued that Plato wrote this new creation myth to make the world good but also in a way that
science and math could be added. It is unclear if Hesiod made up the Theogony or simply wrote a
well known story down.

Improving The Health Care System
Working to continually improve the health care system there are three aims that are required and
must be implemented simultaneously. A triple aims that has an impact on the cost decisions in
managed care are; improvement of the experience of care; amending the health care system as it
relates to communities, and reducing per capita costs of health care. Appropriate integration of
these three rolls known as the triple aim are five components of evaluation: partnership between
providers and those receiving care, redesigning of the primary care system, expansion of the
population health management, identification of financial management, and integration of the
macro system. Reaching a system that provides quality care with a decrease in cost is technical
by nature, but unfortunately influenced politically. One of the goals in managed care in relation
to the triple aim is the development of care for individuals that will allow them to expand and
thrive. In the aggregate, we call those goals the Triple Aim : improving the individual experience
of care; improving the health of populations; and reducing the per capita costs of care for
populations, (Berwick, Nolan, Wittington, 2008, p. 759). By balancing this form of an advanced
system the society would see a continual improve the cost impact of managed care. The overall
advancement of managed care in which there is a significant impact on cost is of cultivating
interest to health care leaders. In a continuum to improve

Student Loans Cons
Student Loans
With the average student loan debt being almost $30,000 for people fresh out of college as of
2013, it s no wonder that many high schoolers around the country are worried about whether they
will be able to pay off their student loans. Most are desperately trying to get scholarships and
grants in order to try and remove the burden that is student debt off their shoulders. Others are
going to cheaper, local, community colleges, whether temporarily or for their whole degree, in fear
of these student loans. Even those who try to reduce the amount of debt they get into after college
will still find themselves having to pay thousands in student loans. My friend had gone to Ivy Tech

Supernatural Elements And Supernatural Elements In...
Supernatural and temporal elements are popular devices used in romantic literature.
Supernatural elements are things that go beyond the natural realm such as spirits and demons,
and temporal elements are a part of the physical world such as nature and flaws in humanity.
Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, a romantic novel, consists of mystic and secular
facets that enhance the plot and tone of the novel as well as creating conflicts. Supernatural
elements provide contrast between Puritan beliefs and witchcraft, and temporal elements
provide contrast between the sins and flaws of society and the purity of nature. The devil is a
supernatural being that imposes itself into the character, Roger Chillingworth. The temporal
fault of hypocrisy shows in Dimmesdale s character and the judgmental nature of the
townspeople. The role of the forest is both a supernatural and temporal element because it is a
very spiritual place and provides an escape from the secular world. Hawthorne uses dark
supernatural elements to characterize Roger Chillingworth. Hester s affair makes Chillingworth
an envious and vengeful man, and his need for revenge turns him into a fiend. Chillingworth s
physical appearance changes for the worst in the course of seven years, old Roger Chillingworth
was a striking evidence of man s faculty of transforming himself into a devil (Hawthorne 156).
Chillingworth s appearance changes from a studious and scholarly man to a stooped and
deformed creature with red glowing eyes. Pearl observes Chillingworth s hideous and terrifying
features and suspects that he is the Black Man. Not only is Chillingworth s appearance effected
by the supernatural elements of the devil, his demonic character is exposed when he leeches onto
Dimmesdale. Chillingworth seems to embrace his demonic identity when Hester condemns him
for torturing Dimmesdale and making his life hell. Chillingworth admits to doing so, but refuses
to stop because Dimmesdale deserves it. Hawthorne uses the evil supernatural elements of the
devil to make Roger Chillingworth a symbol of the Black Man. His reason for doing so provides
grave conflict in the lives of Hester, Pearl, and especially Dimmesdale. The comparison of
Chillingworth to the devil

The Kray Twins Life, Criminal Careers, And Final Downfall
The Kray Twins were two of London s most notorious and deadly gangsters during the 1960s. An
examination of the Kray twins lives, criminal careers, and final downfall all help one understand
how these two men dominated London s criminal world in the 1960s. Ronald and Reginald Kray
were born on October 24, 1933, to mother Violet and father Charles in Hoxton, East England. They
were born with an older brother named Charlie, and after the twins birth their mother was pregnant
with a little girl she named Viola, but unfortunately, Viola died shortly after birth ( Criminal

This is the longest the twins had been separated from each other. Reggie was back in his home in
Hoxton with his mother and grandfather, Jimmy Lee, while his poor brother Ronnie suffered
alone at the hospital. Due to this, Ronnie was constantly begging for his mother s attention. He
was lonely and demanded his mother s love at all times. She took him out of the hospital on her
own accord since she knew he would only get worse lying in the hospital all day. She was right
and Ronnie started slowly improving. Violet and Reggie also noted a change in Ronnie as the
days went by. No longer was he the playful, outgoing boy he used to be. He was more shy and
reserved, and much less talkative. Since Ronnie was so young when he had diphtheria, it could
have caused permanent impairment. Ronnie and Reggie started to act up more as they got older,
and Ronnie constantly tried to outdo his seemingly perfect brother (Pearson 25 26). Reggie was
charming and adored, and Ronnie didn t like his brother getting all the attention that Ronnie
wanted. If Reggie even got the slightest bit more food than Ronnie, he would be furious. They
started fighting with each other more often, and while their family tried to break up the fights,
they never were successful. Once they were done fighting, they would immediately go back to
being best friends, as if they didn t just have a fight. The twins soon moved back to Violets old
stomping grounds in Bethnal Green (Pearson 27 28). The

Court to a 2 year term. There are 57 circuit court districts in Michigan, with one State of Michigan
Circuit Court in each district. The circuit court handles all civil cases with claims of more than
$25,000 and all felony criminal cases in which jail time exceeds 1 year. In each district there are
also numerous limited jurisdiction courts such as Michigan District Courts which handles traffic
matters, criminal cases in which the punishment is less than a year in jail, and civil cases for
between $3000 and $25,000 in damages is sought. Michigan Small Claims Courts in which civil

paternity, adoption, personal protection orders, delinquency, divorce and Michigan Friend of Court
which hears parenting time, custody, and child support issues. The Michigan Court of Claims hears
lawsuits for more than $1,000 against the State of Michigan. In conclusion, the State of Michigan is

Paul s Life And Ministry
Paul s Life and Ministry There is much to be learned from the life and ministry of the Apostle
Paul. Far from ordinary, within the scope of God s purpose was the selection of a man who would
be chiefly responsible for carrying out the postresurrection commission of Jesus to the Twelve by
proclaiming the fulfilment of the promise of Abraham (McRay, 2003). This man was Paul of Tarsus
(Gal. 1:15 16), who s story is one of redemption in Christ coupled with a testimony that no one is
beyond the saving grace of the Lord JesusChrist.
Paul s early life
Paul, who was actually named Saul was born and spent his earliest years in the Diaspora, the
dispersion of the Jews outside the borders of the Holy Land (McRay, 2003). He was from a
devout Jewish family that residing in the city of Tarsus in Cilicia, which at the time was
considered as one of the largest trade centers on the Mediterranean coast. Not much is known as to
how Paul s family became Roman citizens, but Paul himself was identified as a born citizen (Acts
22:27 28). However, his lineage can be traced to the Hebrew tribe of Benjamin. In addition to being
associated with the tribe of Benjamin, the family had a history of religious devoutness. For the
family s religious devoutness was further revealed when traces of extensive attachment to Pharisaic
traditions and observation throughout the generations were unveiled (Gundry, 1970).

Essay on William Morris
William Morris
William Morris (1834 1896) was perhaps the most important British decorative artist of the 19th
century. A prolific designer, craftsman and decorator, his work and ideas have had a major
influence on the development of modern interior design.
William Morris was one of the most influential figures in the
Victorian and Edwardian art world. As a young man at Oxford he became involved with the Pre
Raphaelite movements, mixing with such artists as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Holman Hunt
and Edward Coley
Burne Jones.
Always a man of innovation, Morris soon tired of the subject matter and philosophy of the Pre
Raphaelites. His desire for social reform was also an important factor in his artistic growth and he

Instead of using a genuine shade of indigo, the design was printed in a Prussian blue, the nearest to
indigo that could be achieved using modern aniline dyes. This led William Morris to speak out
against the capitalist forces, which he considered had brought his industry to a very bad state.
Henceforward there is an absolute divorce between the commercial process and the art of printing.
Anyone wanting to produce dyed textiles with any artistic quality in them must entirely forego the
modern and commercial methods in favour of those which are at least as old as Pliny...
In other words, William Morris ended his connection with Clarkson (who printed the design) and
abandoned production of Tulip and Willow. He also set up a tiny dye house in the basement and
scullery of his house in Queen Square, hoping that he might find his own solution to the problem.
In fact it was only in 1883, after he had established himself at Merton Abbey, that he was finally
able to produce a satisfactory printing of Tulip and Willow.
Preliminary Design
Morris s intricate flower patterns, which seem so effortless and casual in their final form, were
achieved after long hours of patient designing and the production of dozens of different designs.
This preliminary stage was important, as Morris recognised. In a lecture called Making the Best
of It , delivered in 1879, he offered these words of advice to potential designers: no amount of

Smoke Bomb In The Culling
Smoke bomb is a projectile in The Culling. It breaks on effect, making a large cloud of smoke
and applying a temporary blindness to opponents. It is particularly powerful for fleeing and
baiting enemies into traps. It can also be very effective when paired with blades and Brutus by
blinding an opponent and backstabbing him. It is make with only a rock at a gas tank, and can

The first bomb were invented in China in the 13th century. The Chinese initially started using
gunpowder in hand held grenades and created smoke bombs. One of these bombs, the thunderbolt

This reaction is moderated by the baking soda so that the smoke bomb creates smoke for a longer

will be oxidized to carbon dioxide and water. The nitrogen in the potassium nitrate will be reduced
to nitrogen gas. The potassium will end up as potassium carbonate (the carbon coming from the

White Horse Descriptive Writing
What just happened? I sat at the window, wondering about what I just saw. It was 3 am when I

blinded. When I looked back at where the horse was, I was astonished. Nothing!! Where did he

Abruptly, I see a flash of white and I am falling from the sky. Pegasus swoops under and catches

Distribution Model for ESD
In some ways, electronic software distribution is the same as conventional physical delivery
models. For one, the publisher, distributor and reseller all work together to provide end users with
software and customer service, while protecting the publisher s intellectual property and sales.
However, the roles and responsibilities of traditional channel partners are not identical in the online
world. ESD and electronic commerce have opened the door for new players and nontraditional roles.
There are three commonly used distribution models: Direct Distribution = Publisher End User
In direct distribution, publishers benefit by controlling the process of delivery to the end user.
Furthermore, publishers build direct relationships with their customer base. Drawbacks for the
direct model for publishers include the time required to manage the process and the difficulty of
achieving the maximum number of distribution points for their products. Single Tier Distribution =

The Role Of Women In The Femme Fatale
For example, Larry chose Suzanne out of all the women in the bar. As he was seen looking from
woman to woman, but stopped and smiled at Suzanne as soon as he saw her. She is also desired
by the TV guy when he is presenting his speech he is seen stopping and admiring Suzanne, and
later rubbing her leg under the table. She is also the key desire of James, who kills her husband
for her and takes the blame. Given that, Suzanne uses her looks (sexuality) to gain the attention
and control of men seen within the film. She uses sex and love to gain the influence of men, and
get them to do whatever she wants (dirty work). In fact, she gets the attention of James and then
has sex with him in order to win his love and get him to murder Larry. She is able to manipulate
men, and get them to do anything she wants. She recognizes the function that women serve in
narrative and exploits it to disguise her own plotting (Week Ten Recap: The Femme Fatale).
Correspondingly, Suzanne is best understood as a gender critic. She understands that gender
requires us to perform or act dichotomously. Suzanne knows how to be feminine, and acts feminine
when it suits her purposes, often directing her actions at the men around her. Acknowledging them,
she is able to appeal to their interest and grab their attention and pretty much take over their minds.

The Importance Of Traffic Laws
Laws are rules that bind all people living in a community. Laws protect our general safety and
ensure our rights as citizens against abuse by other people, organizations and by the government.
Laws exist at the local, state and national level. There are laws that protect the rights of citizens
such as the Bill of Rights that protect our freedom of speech, religion and the press. There are
laws that protect people from discrimination of race, gender and age and disabilities. There are
also rules and laws to ensure safety on the roads. Laws that protect citizens on the street are known
as trafficlaws. Traffic laws have developed over time to help facilitate the orderly and timely
flow of traffic safely. There are a number of reasons traffic laws are necessary such as safety, to
reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on the roads. According to the national safety
council, an estimated 40,000 people died from motor vehicle crashes in 2016 a rise of 6% from
2015. The national safety council suggests that lower gas prices and increased motor mileage
coupled with risky activities while driving such as texting, playing with the radio and speeding
are responsible for the rise in fatalities and injuries. Most people recognize that driving and
vehicles can be dangerous for everyone on the roads including passengers, pedestrians, cyclists; it
is imperative that all drivers abide the traffic laws. Many people become careless drivers and

The Change Management Model And Kotter s 8 Step Model
Academics such as Lewin and Kotter have outlined frameworks which fellow re searchers can
refer to when trying to implement organisational change successful ly. Although there are many
theories regarding change management, this research will focus Lewin s change management
model and Kotter s 8 step model. 3.1 Lewin change model The force field analysis by Lewin
(1951) demonstrates that there are three neces sary processes which organisation need to
consider when processing or imple menting change. The force field analysis aims to investigate
the balance of power between the driving forces of change and the resisting force or barriers to
success ful change implementation. It argues that there is a need to identify the key players
involved in the decision making and identify methods to influence those against change (Wagner
et al. 2011). The term force refer to any factor that has the potential of affecting the change
process within the organisation (Schwering, 2003). The three processes are specifically known
as Unfreeze stage, Change stage and final ly Refreezing stage. The unfreezing stage can be
regarded to some degree as a pre stage to change. The point of this stage is to get ready people to
change and making the organisation prepared to move from the present position to the new sought
one. Since amid the unfreezing stage people could feel the present state of affairs debilitated, it is

Impact Of The United Kingdom On Britain s Current Issues...
With the United Kingdom being the 3rd European country with the highest GDP it is rather
difficult to assume that issues such as negative economic growth, rising unemployment
(Mooney and Scott, 2012) and consequently poverty would have any magnitude in its territory.
However poverty does appear to be an issue in Scotland, even though it contributes as the 2nd
largest percentage on UK s GVA (7.7% ONS, 2012). With the acceptance of the referendum
Scotland was aiming for independence and therefore taking in its own hands decision making
regarding sectors such as the economic one by prioritizing and making the right decisions in
order to tackle issues such as that of poverty. After September 18th 2014 economic changes
concerning currency, unemployment and natural resources would have an impact on Scotland s
current issues regarding poverty. An issue that has been in Scotland s economic agenda afore
the economic crisis of 2008/09 is poverty despite the fact that Scotland s economy was growing
steadily until 2007 (McKendrick, J., et al. 2011). By 2013 Scotland had a greater relative poverty
rate than the UK with 16% , which is an increase since 2007 when the case was in reverse
positions. These statistics indicate an adverse development in Scotland s relative poverty rates over
the past eight years to which economic factors come from both macroeconomic as well as
microeconomic spectrums. The four main macroeconomic objectives (high economic growth, low
inflation, balance of

Dienophile, N-Methylmaleimide
For this study, each group had the same dienophile, N methylmaleimide, but different dienes,
anthracene 9 methanol or anthracene 9 carboxaldehyde. Initial reaction conducted with anthracene
9 methanol and N methylmaleimide was successful in generating a generous amount of product;
however, due to errors performed during the purification method by recrystallization, some product
was lost, thereby resulting in a low yield. Upon completion of the reaction, the Diels Alder adduct
was subjected to analysis by NMR spectroscopy, specifically, Proton NMR. The percent yield of
this reaction was expected to be high, however, the reaction yielded a percent yield of 4.88%, which
is significantly low. Typically, a low percent yield is an indication of an inefficient reaction;
however, in this case, this cannot be concluded due to errors that occurred during the reaction.
Theoretically, dienophiles and dienes can have different electron donating and electron withdrawing
substituents, thereby changing either can impact the percent yield of the reaction. An electron
donating substituents on the diene will increase the percent yield as the chances of the reaction
occurring is increased with the increase in the number of electron donating groups. The Reverse is
true for dienophiles, as an increase in the number of electron withdrawing groups with lower the

Foreign Relations Between America And China

AAS 390
How would you rate Xi Jinping s visit to the US (Sept.24 25) on a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is utter
failure and 10 is an unqualified success ? Provide detailed reasons in support of your answer
On September 25th, 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a state visit to the United States in a
gesture meant to reciprocate United States President Barack Obama s trip to Beijing last November
in 2014. The visit served as an opportunity to bolster US China relations and cooperation among a
variety of global and bilateral issues, endeavoring to close their discord and strive for progress. It
also served as a strategic move to improve the relationship between America and China so that they
stay on track with their Bilateral Investment Treaty negotiations. The two leaders both addressed
issues such as China s alleged cyberespionage, military relations, people to people exchange, and
China s act of intimidation in the off the Alaskan coast. Moreover, Xi Jinpingintended to meet
with American tech leaders with a desire to boost the economies of both nations. The question
at hand is the measure of success this visit and to what extent it lived up to its intention of
expanding and deepening cooperation . If I were to put this visit up to a scale of 1 to 10, I d rate it
a 7/10 which is what I d like to call success with caution . There are many aspects of the visit that I
believe greatly improved US China relations. On the other hand, there are gray areas

Analyzing Steven Pinker s The Stuff Of Thought
Module 3 Assignment
1.Write at least a one paragraph summary of the entire lecture in your own words (no quotes). It
must be obvious after reading your summary that you watched the entire lecture.
In the lecture The Stuff of Thought, Steven Pinker, a renowned anthropologist talked about
different aspects of language. He started out by describing space in language which states how
people uses words such as, on, over, under, and so forth instead of right, left, and so forth.
Moreover, he states that people uses dimensions and width to describe objects. For example, a line
is described as one dimensional object versus a surface that is described as two dimensional space.
There are various substances in language such as, countable things, masses, ... Show more content

Pinker explains that swearing is used as a weapon in order to create negative emotions for the
listeners. Swear words are different across cultures. A taboo word in one country may not be taboo
in a different country. Pinker provided explanations for people wanting to create negative emotions
with each other using swear words (e.g. making a strong point to force the listeners to understand
certain things, letting off steam, etc.). He distinguished between various types of swearing styles in
the video.
Moreover, Pinker described indirect speech acts and explained how people try to give hints to
each other by saying something else instead of directly saying what they want to say. According to
Pinker, language is a good way to gain mutual understanding between people whether it is direct or
indirect. Relationships are built better when indirect languages are used because indirect language
prevents legal issues.
2.Describe how this lecture relates to the information we are studying in Module 3. Please support
your arguments with information and citations (APA style) from the readings as well as your own

The Growing Up Of A Refugee Camp
Moving to America was the biggest change in my life. Before, I know very little of this world
and my thoughts and opinion were very narrow. I did not have the best education and I think little
about my future since I lived in a refugee camp. I also could not open myself up to people of
different background because of the lack of diversity while living in the camp. But moving to
America I was introduced with a new culture, education, and diversity that changes my life and my
views.
Before I moved to America I lived in a Thailand refugee camp called Mae La. Growing up in Mae
La camp there was not a lot of diversity since most people who live there were Karen people. All
my neighbor were Karen, therefore I was not close to people of different background or people
with different ethnicity. I could not open up to them easily since I only speak Karen language. I
was more comfortable with the Karen people too since I know mostly Karen people and my school
was full of Karen kids. I went to a mission school in Mae la and the school in Mae La refugee camp
was not well made like the one in US, it was made of bamboo and there was no floor. Mae La also
have a poor education system so many Karen student including myself did not get a full advance
education like the one in America. Since I was still a kid when I lived in Mae La camp, I did not
know about the struggle of living in refugee camp.
One day I come home from school and my family told me that we were moving to America. I could

Jurassic Park Research Papers
Jurassic Park is a movie based on the novel Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. The movie of
course, like all films based off of books, is slightly different from the original novel. Yet, this title
shares a similar theme with its original piece of work. The recreation of dinosaurs. Sadly the
Jurassic Parkversion of dinosaurrecreation will only make it harder to bring these extinct animals
back to life. Our real life scientists may be able to somewhat recreate dinosaurs through Artificial
Embryo Twinning or Somatic Cell Nuclear transfer. We have successfully cloned 20+ animals or
recreated extinct animals such as the Bucardo or Pyrenean Ibex.
The InGen scientist in Jurassic park use a form of Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer. The scientists...

Through this technique the scientist would have to grind up the Dinosaurs bones to extract
blood cells and proteins (Cloning and Dr. Loy). The only negative point in this form of
recreation or cloning is that it is ...used only as a backup to the cloning that produces a full
strand of DNA... . Another way would be like the InGen scientist using Somatic Cell Nuclear
Transfer. The only precaution would be to ensure that the blood or cells being extracted are
actually from dinosaurs which at this point is extremely difficult. Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer
is when and ovum is created with a donor nucleus. First, the nucleus (containing the DNA) is
removed and the rest of the cell is thrown out while the nucleus of an egg cell is also removed.
Next, the nucleus of the somatic cell is inserted into the egg cells nucleus place. After the insertion,
the host cell reprograms the somatic cell nucleus. The egg will begin to divide. Lastly, after many
mitotic divisions the single cell can form a blastocyst with closely identical DNA to the original
organism (SCNT).
Our efforts on recreating animals have been successful to an extent. Dolly the Sheep is a perfect
example of recreation (Roslin Institute, Scotland). Also animals such as the Bucardo (Bringing
them back to life) , Carp, Cumulina the mouse etc. (20 animals...). The Bucardo was successfully

Britain has gone through many royal deaths and many more monarchs, but no death more tragic
than Princess Charlotte of Wales and no monarch greater than Queen Alexandrina Victoria. The

Victoria. Kate Williams shares the twists and turns through the history of Great Britain s different

The Tragedy And Horror Of The Joplin Tornado
It is my belief that the attachment of positive interpretations to the tragedy and horror of the Joplin
tornado, and the repetition of such themes through continuous narration, directly affected
community ethos. This, in turn, helped further select the features of the collective narrative shared
with the nation through national news. The national attention to Joplin, spurred those wanting to
help in the wake of such devastation and those in admiration of the community s own resilience to
volunteer time and resources to the recovery effort. Cast as an all American city in the Heartland of
the nation, the positive ethos and determination demonstrated by Joplin citizens transformed the
community s identity from a virtually unknown place in Missouri to a symbol of the nation, a
transformation further encouraged through the wording of public statements by President Obama
and Governor Nixon as well as featuring Joplin on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and other
television shows. To the nation, Joplin became a place amid an undifferentiated region, except to
locals, known as fly over states. Theoretical Implications Disasters are totalizing events, impacting
and influencing every aspect of a community when they occur. As the anthropology of disaster
grows, both in the number of publications and the number of researchers, the scope of topics related
to disasters will also grow. Economic implications, vulnerable populations, and human ecology

Characteristics Of A Successful Time Period During Late...
The traits that define a successful time period in late Imperial China are necessary expansion,
unifying the people, and the construction of an effective and incorrupt political structure. The
effects of meeting these criteria is sustained influence in following Chinese time periods both short
term and long term, as other rulers will benefit from what their predecessors have accomplished, or
try to imitate successful policies. As a team, the Kangxi emperorand his successor, the Yongzheng
emperor, were able to achieve all of the goals for a prosperous period in Chinese history. Although
it was a relatively short period, the Kangxi and Yongzheng emperor s times on the Qing throne were
extremely complementary, and ultimately came together to form the most successful time period in
late Imperial China.
The Kangxi emperor s greatest contributions to the Qing Dynasty were his impressive military
forces used to expand his lands and keep peace within them, and his ability to establish a
foundation for order in those lands. The Kangxi emperor was on the throne for sixty one years, and
brought expansion and a stable government to the Manchu Qing dynasty by integrating Manchu and
Chinese interests and making traditional Chinese institutions function again. The Kangxi emperor s
long reign...is the crucial period during which Manchu rule took form...With vigor and insight he

Carnival Cruise Industry
Introduction The cruise line industry has changed drastically over the past several years. What
was once thought of as a luxury to most people, is now affordable and convenient. The industry
now focuses on targeting the working middle class, as well as the upper class. One cruise line in
particular, Carnival, has mastered the informal cruise for the mass market. Carnival offers
numerous cruises that are inexpensive and exciting. Nevertheless, Carnival operates internationally
with shipyards and ports all over the world. Being an international business, Carnival is affected
by many global forces, both controllable and uncontrollable. In order to maintain the corporation s

Carnival also minimizes staffing costs by sourcing employees on a global basis. The employees are
a key element to ensuring excellent customer service on the boats, therefore, customers will return
satisfied.
International Differences A few international differences affect the operations of cruise lines.
Differences include political/legal, geographic, economic, or sociocultural. Since cruise lines are an
international business, they are affected by these differences. Many cruise lines choose to flag their
vessels in countries that have lower taxes and less stringent employment practices required by the
laws of those countries (The Cruise). However, some governments may choose to subsidize the ship
industry in order to secure contracts for their domestic firms. Many ships are built in order to be
appealing to the eye, but with cruise ships going to so many different places, they have to be
designed not only to accommodate the economic reality of the mass market, but also the cultural
preferences of the clientele. Carnival designed seasonal cruises that sail to different destinations.
The themes chosen are based on the locations the ship will be travelling to. Also, buffet options
are available in order to provide a variety of food options for the customers and avoid cultural
preferences.
International Sales Effective marketing is crucial when selling cruises internationally. The majority
of customers who board of a cruise ship are men and women from 18 50

Weaker Yen Essay
I. Introduction
Japan s exports rate last month at the fastest annual rate in more than two years. The weaker yen
also boosted the energy heavy import bill, although the rose 10 per cent from a year earlier,
economists said the net effect of the yen s retreat remained positive, because higher export revenues
translate into higher exporter earnings and consequently more investment and worker s bonuses.
Japan s stock market is heavy on exporting, The Prime Minister Abe s government also hopes that
the export windfall will shore up general business and consumer confidence. This is way to aim to
pull Japan out of its liquidity trap and end nearly two decades of economic stagnation and deflation.

III. Objectives and Effects of Weaker Yen
The Prime Minister Abe tried to make lower currency of Yen with two strategies. First strategy is
Printing Money and second strategy is Buying Yen from other countries . Both of strategies

Weaker Yen sounds like loss of Japan. Actually, it brings a lot of benefits to Japan. There are many
effects from weaker Yen.
3.1 Growth of Export Companies
Japan s fiscal policy is demand pull for international consumers and Cost Push for domestic
consumers.
DPJ (Democratic Party of Japan) thinks that cost push inflation will increase the cost of goods and
services however, having demand pull is more important. It means growing demand will pull the
economy into stability (J. Metcalfe, May 2013). Lower value Yen is same as income for household.
It means an international consumer is able to buy Japanese products in lower cost.

In Figure 3.1, previous currency of Yen was Y0 and after weaker Y1, it turned as income for
international consumers. Thus, aggregate demand for Japanese products. Increased exporting will
activate economy of Japan and there will be Inflationary gap between Y0 and Y1. It is enough to
stimulate to recover Japanese economy. The Minister Abe thought weaker Yen will bring increase
of export and demand for domestic products and services and it is true. The exporting rate of

Summary Of King Henry V Speech
In the middle of the siege of Harfleur, when the English were severely and harshly outnumbered,
and the French were against them Henry V gave his second famously motivational speech that
helped the English soldiers to get back in the war and win the battle. King Henry V s speeches
that were used in the war, had been played in day to day speeches, as it has been played on Allied
ships crossing the English Channel to Normandy during WWII. Once more unto the breach,
dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our English dead. In peace there s nothing so
becomes a man As modest stillness and humility: But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair
nature with hard favoured rage; Then lend the eye a terrible aspect; Let pry through the portage
of the head Like the brass cannon; let the brow overwhelm it As fearfully as doth a galled rock O
erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill d with the wild and wasteful ocean Now set the teeth
and stretch the nostril wide, Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit To his full height. On,
on, you noblest English. Whose blood gets from fathers of war proof! Fathers that, like so many
Alexanders, Have in these parts from morn till even fought And sheathed their swords for lack of
argument: Shakespeare s use of chorus gives the play a significant atmosphere.

How does lobbying work in government
1. How does lobbying work in government?
Lobbying is an enormous business. A lobbyist is an advocate who seek outs to influence
members of the government (like members of Congress) to endorse legislation that would
advantage their group. The lobbying occupation is a lawful and essential part of our democratic
political procedure that is not extremely well implicit by the broad population. While the majority
people think of lobbyists only as paid experts, there are as well a lot of volunteer lobbyists.
Anyone who appeals the government or contacts their member of Congress to say an view is

A good quality lobbyist can construct four or five times what a legislator or high ranking official

Lab Report On Osmosis
The Osmosis and Diffusion lab was conducted to provide us with information on how built up
mucus affects those conflicted by the recessive genetic disease, Cystic Fibrosis., due to a mutation
to the membrane regulating chloride (Cl ). This mutation prevents the Cl from leaving the cell
causing the amount of sodium (Na+) in epithelial cells, which results in extreme mucus on the
lungs and airways causing this disease to be fatal if not treated but treatment does not equate to a
long lifetime. During the lab we took the data from three parts: Diffusion, Osmosis in an Elodea
Cell, and finally the Role of Osmosis in Cystic Fibrosis. During Part 1 we looked at diffusion across
a semipermeable membranefor starch and glucose, which resulted in both having a negative
solution when placed in a semipermeable membrane. Then we looked at osmosis in the Elodea
Cell to watch for the occurrence of Plasmolysis, when a cell s plasma membrane pulls away from
the cell, and how a plant cell is affected by both hypertonic and hypotonic solutions. Finally, we
observed the role of Osmosis in Cystic Fibrosis using dialysis bags to represent a normal cell and
a Cystic Fibrosis cell with the normal containing 1% NaCl while the Cystic Fibrosis bag
contained 10% NaCl. After we ran the experiment, we looked at the Percent Change in Mass and
compared them after 30 minutes. We found that Cystic Fibrosis cells didn t change mass as much
as the normal cell ending with a change in mass over 1%. The

The Harrr s Case Of Kaspar Hauser
6. Kaspar Hauser In May of 1928, a teenage boy was found wandering the streets of Nuremberg,
Germany, clutching a handwritten note addressed to a captain of a German cavalry regiment.
The note claimed that the boy, Kaspar, had been adopted as an infant by an anonymous person
and raised in near total isolation somewhere near the Bavarian border; the note instructed the
captain to take him in or hang him. The boy was jailed as a vagrant, and appeared to only know
a few scattered Hungarian words and three German phrases I want to be a cavalryman, as my
father was , Horse! Horse! and Don t know . He gradually learned to speak, and claimed he had
been raised in an isolated cell by a mysterious man who taught him to repeat those phrases without
understanding what they meant. Numerous caretakers took Kaspar in, only to find him spiteful
and deceitful. He was eventually stabbed in the chest by an unknown person on December 14th,
1833. At the site of his stabbing, police found a purse that contained a note written in mirror
writing, that claimed Kaspar could tell police the killer s identity, and offered clues. The
circumstances of Kaspar s life and death remain suspicious, and to this day no one is sure who he
really was, what his motives were, and whether or not his fatal stab wound was self inflicted.

When she describes that moment in her life, she says that it was the most stressful time she can remember. This is the definition which our court uses, our law simply creates one distinction for these offences. The law creates two types of theft: Simple Theft and Aggravated Theft. Simple Theft: First element is contrectazio this is the taking away, this element has 3 schools of thought: 1. Carrara: Says amozio (movement), as soon as you have movement of the object, or as soon as the offender lays his hands on the object and simply moves it the offence of theft is complete. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Violence: Manzini writes that violenece doesn t have to be addressed to the victim but against any other person present during the crime. This is because the fundamental element of aggravation and applies to all aggravations is that the aggravation must have facilitated the commission of the crime. This was established in Pulizija vs Emmanuel Testa, Testa was a bus conductor who was charged with violent indecent assault for having groped an 18 year old s breast on a bus. Was charged with violent indecent assault aggravated by a public office, the fact alone that he was a bus conductor, as a public officer. But this position as a public did not facilitate the aggravation and the court agreed that it did not facilitate the crime. So he couldn t get an aggravation because he was a public officer. Our law speaks of bodily harm or threats of bodily harm, there must be real or perceived bodily harm. What is essential is that this threat must necessarily be an influence on the victim s mind. Violence can be used against a thing in so far as it instils fear of further harm to one s self. The violence and the threat has to be such that it instils fear into the victim. Another form is violenza numerica , more than 2 thieves present themselves. By the term present themselves they don t need to know they are all there, the victim has to know there are more than two they need not be in front of the victim. The rule is that you have to be ... • 10. Argumentative Essay On The Insanity Defense The insanity defense is very controversial topic because it misunderstood. Society has long recognized the need for judges and juries to discern which defendant are criminals responsible. Many people do not understand therefore do not support it. The insanity defense is a defense available to individuals who committed a crime but are not found criminally responsible reason due to insanity. It is rarely used but when it is it stirs controversy. When it is used it has a low chance of it being successful, a twenty six percent chance (Fersch, 2005). Some famous cases where the insanity defensewas successful are; the officer Robert Tornsey case and the John Hinckley Jr. case. In both cases the individual was sent to a mental institution. • 11. The Immigration Of Americ The Land Of The Free The idea of immigration to America has been an extremely important part of the history of the country for hundreds of years. Some of the original immigrants to America were the settlers in 1607, when a group of men from England started a colony admits the swamplands of current day Virginia. Several years later in 1620, a group of puritans known as the Pilgrims also made their way to America to start a new life. Since then, millions have traveled across the ocean in hope of a new life and future in what is known as The Land of the Free. Just like much of the eastern side of the country, the immigration of Europeans to America played a very important role in the history of Michigan as well. Almost immediately after settlers started immigrating to America, Christian missionaries followed closely behind, feeling it was their duty in the eyes of God to witness to the native people, and tell them about what they believed to be the one and only true religion. Father Joseph LeCaron was one of the first missionaries to come to America in the year 1615 (21). Several years later in 1665, Father Claude Allouez also traveled from France to the Great Lakes when he first encountered some Natives and their religious practices. He explains in a letter to his superiors in France that the natives were worshiping a lake. My links to the course are conformity and non conformity, continuity and change and how people behave in groups, also what aspect of identity or self encourages some to care to the extreme and express a willingness to risk their life while others do not. My link to continuity and change focuses on past generation and whether people were more or less likely inclined to help others. My research methods include interviews, data analysis and a questionnaire. I used interviews to create three case studies about people who have risked their life to save other people. Data analysis was used to analyse the nature of recipients of the 2015 bravery awards in Australia and to establish any trends in the nature of the altruistic behaviour. My questionnaire involved 540 respondents, chosen from a variety of workplaces, schoolmates and family and friends in a provincial city, I chose this technique as it allows me to get a more accurate first person response and gives me an access a range of opinions. • 13. The Effects Of Parental Involvement On Student s... A. Share something that you learner from the webcast that was new to you. Then, talk about ways that you see yourself using that information within your school setting. The webcast was very informative. A few factors that were shared never crossed my mind as being influential in regards to parental involvement. The webcast suggested that the student s attendance rate was greatly influenced by the involvement of their parents in their educational process. However, this statement makes sense, but it s never crossed my mind. The webcast also shared that a student s attitude towards their educational endeavors was also a direct relationship with the degree of parental involvement in the student s education. Subsequently, the webcast also shared that the more parental involvement the student has from their family; the chances of experiencing discipline problems decrease. It s amazing how the involvement of the parents can cause a student to have such a positive disposition towards their education. Parental involvement shows the students that the parents are serious regarding their educational career; as a result it makes the student more accountable for their education. The webcast also shed some light on the phrase parental involvement. At first glance, most people simply think that parents volunteering, sending in school supplies, attending PTA meeting, taking part in parent teacher conferences sufficed as parental involvement. How Does Stephen Albert Create A Labyrinth Simultaneous Futures: The Role of Time in The Garden of the Forking Paths In The Garden of the Forking Paths by Jorge Luis Borges, Stephen Albert is studying the work of TsК№ui PГЄn. His work is not only a book, but also a labyrinth. Many people think that the book and the labyrinth are two different things, but Stephen Albert has a different theory; it is the theory of a never ending book. It is never ending because TsК№ui PГЄn has chosen all possible futures simultaneously. TsК№ui PГЄn has written a book and a labyrinth, which is a never ending story of endless possible futures that demonstrates the possibility for many different futures in real life. TsК№ui PГЄn has written a never ending book that he also classifies as a labyrinth. Albert has just met Dr. Yu Tsun and is discussing with him the works of his ancestor, TsК№ui PГЄn. Every substance has its own unique density due to all of the atoms mass, size, and arrangement being different for each atom. Density is the relationship between two characteristics of matter which are mass and the occupied space. Density is a characteristic property, meaning the density of a substance will stay the same. In an investigation the objects densities would be calculated to determine whether the objects are made of the same material. The objects are all different colors, sizes, textures and shapes. In order to find density, the mass and volume would need to be calculated. In order to calculate the density of an object two things must be calculated the mass and volume of the object. ... For example, the difference in the density of neon versus sodium is 0.03 which is a small difference and because of the different densities the two substances are completely different. The measurement of the volume in mL could have been better if the 10mL graduated cylinder was used in place of the 50 mL. The calipers and graduated cylinder only measures to the tenths which does not give as precise measurements as the balance. The human error causes the non identical cm3 to mL measurement of the same objects causing a slight difference in the densities of the same object. When comparing my data to another group doing the same experiment I found a possible miscalculation of volume in mL for the clear object in my own experiment. Aside from the possible miscalculation, the volume measured in the other group was to the ones place of a number while our group measured to the tenths place. Krishnaconfronts Arjunaby explaining his pure dharmic duty; a wise man is untouched by the misperception of ideas and is united merely to do the right thing without considering the consequences. Although all traditions have chaos brought to order the obvious difference between having creators and Gaia mother earth, is the idea of this ordered world being innately good or bad. The creator myths paint the world as inherently good, for example, in Genesis it is Yahweh s will that the universe would be good and God saw that it was good (Genesis 1.10 ). Similarly in the Timaeus, Plato has the Demiurge and the idea of good fused together He was good... and being free from jealousy he desired that all things be like himself (Timaeus 4). In contrast to the above examples, Hesiod s Theogony holds a very pessimistic view of the world explaining it to be inherently bad. This is particularly seen in his account of the five ages of men, which will be discussed later, and in the generational rivalry that is ongoing from the beginning of the myth. It is suggested by E.E Pender that Plato s Timaeus myth is aiming to replace the moral chaos that is seen in the Theogony, as he could not believe that the world is built around deception and violence. It can be argued that Plato wrote this new creation myth to make the world good but also in a way that science and math could be added. A triple aims that has an impact on the cost decisions in managed care are; improvement of the experience of care; amending the health care system as it relates to communities, and reducing per capita costs of health care. Appropriate integration of these three rolls known as the triple aim are five components of evaluation: partnership between providers and those receiving care, redesigning of the primary care system, expansion of the population health management, identification of financial management, and integration of the macro system. Reaching a system that provides quality care with a decrease in cost is technical by nature, but unfortunately influenced politically. • 22. Supernatural Elements And Supernatural Elements In... Supernatural and temporal elements are popular devices used in romantic literature. Supernatural elements are things that go beyond the natural realm such as spirits and demons, and temporal elements are a part of the physical world such as nature and flaws in humanity. Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, a romantic novel, consists of mystic and secular facets that enhance the plot and tone of the novel as well as creating conflicts. Supernatural elements provide contrast between Puritan beliefs and witchcraft, and temporal elements provide contrast between the sins and flaws of society and the purity of nature. The devil is a supernatural being that imposes itself into the character, Roger Chillingworth. The temporal fault of hypocrisy shows in Dimmesdale s character and the judgmental nature of the townspeople. The role of the forest is both a supernatural and temporal element because it is a very spiritual place and provides an escape from the secular world. Hawthorne uses dark supernatural elements to characterize Roger Chillingworth. Hester s affair makes Chillingworth an envious and vengeful man, and his need for revenge turns him into a fiend. Chillingworth s physical appearance changes for the worst in the course of seven years, old Roger Chillingworth was a striking evidence of man s faculty of transforming himself into a devil (Hawthorne 156). Chillingworth s appearance changes from a studious and scholarly man to a stooped and deformed creature with red glowing eyes. Pearl observes Chillingworth s hideous and terrifying features and suspects that he is the Black Man. Not only is Chillingworth s appearance effected by the supernatural elements of the devil, his demonic character is exposed when he leeches onto Dimmesdale. Chillingworth seems to embrace his demonic identity when Hester condemns him for torturing Dimmesdale and making his life hell. Chillingworth admits to doing so, but refuses to stop because Dimmesdale deserves it. Hawthorne uses the evil supernatural elements of the devil to make Roger Chillingworth a symbol of the Black Man. Far from ordinary, within the scope of God s purpose was the selection of a man who would be chiefly responsible for carrying out the postresurrection commission of Jesus to the Twelve by proclaiming the fulfilment of the promise of Abraham (McRay, 2003). This man was Paul of Tarsus (Gal. 1:15 16), who s story is one of redemption in Christ coupled with a testimony that no one is beyond the saving grace of the Lord JesusChrist. In addition to being associated with the tribe of Benjamin, the family had a history of religious devoutness. During the combustion of the smoke bomb, the sugar will be oxidized to carbon dioxide and water. The nitrogen in the potassium nitrate will be reduced to nitrogen gas. The potassium will end up as potassium carbonate (the carbon coming from the CO2 from the sugar). (Smoke Bombs, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Carefully, I went to sit on the window seat to gaze at the dark, rolling clouds above. Lightning flashed and thunder roared. Wait! What was that? It was a white horse. Standing in the pasture, staring right at me. He was calm, almost as if he was waiting for someone, or something. Suddenly, a huge lightning bolt flared. Momentarily, I was blinded. When I looked back at where the horse was, I was astonished. Nothing!! Where did he go? Still confused, I get back into bed and drift into a deep sleep filled with white horses galloping through the sky. The next morning, I sit up and yawn. All at once, I remember... Carefully, I calm the horse down, muttering soothing words to him, and he looks up at me with trusting liquid eyes. Scrambling around Pegasus, I reach underneath the tightly wedged hoof and wiggle it from between the posts. At last, Pegasus is free. With a glance in my direction, he trots towards the clouds in the distance. I begin to follow, but an unknown force sweeps me off my feet and carries me into the sky. I look up at the force, and see an enormous bird carrying me into the sky. Abruptly, I see a flash of white and I am falling from the sky. Pegasus swoops under and catches me, then carries me back into the sky above. We peacefully glide above the clouds, gathering speed until the world around me is a blur. The blur slows down slowly, and I find Pegasus and myself flying towards a majestic mountain with a Greek palace on top of it. Distribution Model for ESD In some ways, electronic software distribution is the same as conventional physical delivery models. For one, the publisher, distributor and reseller all work together to provide end users with software and customer service, while protecting the publisher s intellectual property and sales. However, the roles and responsibilities of traditional channel partners are not identical in the online world. ESD and electronic commerce have opened the door for new players and nontraditional roles. There are three commonly used distribution models: Direct Distribution = Publisher End User In direct distribution, publishers benefit by controlling the process of delivery to the end user. Furthermore, publishers build direct relationships with their customer base. Drawbacks for the direct model for publishers include the time required to manage the process and the difficulty of achieving the maximum number of distribution points for their products. Single Tier Distribution = Publisher Reseller End User Single tier distribution was the most common model used at the onset of Internet based ESD growth. Although there are many theories regarding change management, this research will focus Lewin s change management model and Kotter s 8 step model. 3.1 Lewin change model The force field analysis by Lewin (1951) demonstrates that there are three neces sary processes which organisation need to consider when processing or imple menting change. The force field analysis aims to investigate the balance of power between the driving forces of change and the resisting force or barriers to success ful change implementation. It argues that there is a need to identify the key players involved in the decision making and identify methods to influence those against change (Wagner et al. 2011). The term force refer to any factor that has the potential of affecting the change process within the organisation (Schwering, 2003). The three processes are specifically known as Unfreeze stage, Change stage and final ly Refreezing stage. The unfreezing stage can be regarded to some degree as a pre stage to change. The point of this stage is to get ready people to change and making the organisation prepared to move from the present position to the new sought one. With the United Kingdom being the 3rd European country with the highest GDP it is rather difficult to assume that issues such as negative economic growth, rising unemployment (Mooney and Scott, 2012) and consequently poverty would have any magnitude in its territory. However poverty does appear to be an issue in Scotland, even though it contributes as the 2nd largest percentage on UK s GVA (7.7% ONS, 2012). With the acceptance of the referendum Scotland was aiming for independence and therefore taking in its own hands decision making regarding sectors such as the economic one by prioritizing and making the right decisions in order to tackle issues such as that of poverty. After September 18th 2014 economic changes concerning currency, unemployment and natural resources would have an impact on Scotland s current issues regarding poverty. An issue that has been in Scotland s economic agenda afore the economic crisis of 2008/09 is poverty despite the fact that Scotland s economy was growing steadily until 2007 (McKendrick, J., et al. 2011). By 2013 Scotland had a greater relative poverty rate than the UK with 16% , which is an increase since 2007 when the case was in reverse positions. He distinguished between various types of swearing styles in the video. Moreover, Pinker described indirect speech acts and explained how people try to give hints to each other by saying something else instead of directly saying what they want to say. According to Pinker, language is a good way to gain mutual understanding between people whether it is direct or indirect. The national attention to Joplin, spurred those wanting to help in the wake of such devastation and those in admiration of the community s own resilience to volunteer time and resources to the recovery effort. • 52. Summary Of King Henry V Speech In the middle of the siege of Harfleur, when the English were severely and harshly outnumbered, and the French were against them Henry V gave his second famously motivational speech that helped the English soldiers to get back in the war and win the battle. King Henry V s speeches that were used in the war, had been played in day to day speeches, as it has been played on Allied ships crossing the English Channel to Normandy during WWII. Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our English dead. In peace there s nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility: But when the blast of war blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard favoured rage; Then lend the eye a terrible aspect; Let pry through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let the brow overwhelm it As fearfully as doth a galled rock O erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill d with the wild and wasteful ocean Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide, Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit To his full height. On, on, you noblest English. Whose blood gets from fathers of war proof! Fathers that, like so many Alexanders, Have in these parts from morn till even fought And sheathed their swords for lack of argument: Shakespeare s use of chorus gives the play a significant atmosphere. ... • 55. Lab Report On Osmosis The Osmosis and Diffusion lab was conducted to provide us with information on how built up mucus affects those conflicted by the recessive genetic disease, Cystic Fibrosis., due to a mutation to the membrane regulating chloride (Cl ). This mutation prevents the Cl from leaving the cell causing the amount of sodium (Na+) in epithelial cells, which results in extreme mucus on the lungs and airways causing this disease to be fatal if not treated but treatment does not equate to a long lifetime. During the lab we took the data from three parts: Diffusion, Osmosis in an Elodea Cell, and finally the Role of Osmosis in Cystic Fibrosis. During Part 1 we looked at diffusion across a semipermeable membranefor starch and glucose, which resulted in both having a negative solution when placed in a semipermeable membrane. Then we looked at osmosis in the Elodea Cell to watch for the occurrence of Plasmolysis, when a cell s plasma membrane pulls away from the cell, and how a plant cell is affected by both hypertonic and hypotonic solutions. Finally, we observed the role of Osmosis in Cystic Fibrosis using dialysis bags to represent a normal cell and a Cystic Fibrosis cell with the normal containing 1% NaCl while the Cystic Fibrosis bag contained 10% NaCl. After we ran the experiment, we looked at the Percent Change in Mass and compared them after 30 minutes. We found that Cystic Fibrosis cells didn t change mass as much as the normal cell ending with a change in mass over 1%. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 56. The Harrr s Case Of Kaspar Hauser 6. Kaspar Hauser In May of 1928, a teenage boy was found wandering the streets of Nuremberg, Germany, clutching a handwritten note addressed to a captain of a German cavalry regiment. The note claimed that the boy, Kaspar, had been adopted as an infant by an anonymous person and raised in near total isolation somewhere near the Bavarian border; the note instructed the captain to take him in or hang him. The boy was jailed as a vagrant, and appeared to only know a few scattered Hungarian words and three German phrases I want to be a cavalryman, as my father was , Horse! Horse! and Don t know . He gradually learned to speak, and claimed he had been raised in an isolated cell by a mysterious man who taught him to repeat those phrases without understanding what they meant. Numerous caretakers took Kaspar in, only to find him spiteful and deceitful. He was eventually stabbed in the chest by an unknown person on December 14th, 1833. At the site of his stabbing, police found a purse that contained a note written in mirror writing, that claimed Kaspar could tell police the killer s identity, and offered clues. The circumstances of Kaspar s life and death remain suspicious, and to this day no one is sure who he really was, what his motives were, and whether or not his fatal stab wound was self inflicted. source:https://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/ ... forest boy 7.
