This document presents an app called forkit that aims to simplify splitting bills when dining out with groups. It notes current issues like using multiple cards or Venmo to pay separately and keep track of purchases. The proposed solution is to allow users to take a photo of a receipt, pick items belonging to each person, get a summary, and then pay. It compares forkit to similar apps like Splitwise and Tab that also use receipts to split costs but aims to provide a simpler photo-based solution.
