The 2012 kit material is set to include:

• Register Signs (50 to Walmart/18 to Sam’s Club)
• Bar Code Sticker (you must download from WIRE)
• 1 Goal Chart
• 1 Poster for the bulletin board (Walmart only)
• 1 Fundraising Guidebook (will be on the WIRE)
• 1 Leadership Letter

                      Register Fundraising

New Register Prompt – when prompted the members/customers may
 want to know:

Where do the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
donations go?
• Answer: Our funds go to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

How are the funds used?
• Answers: The funds will buy new equipment needed in the physical
  therapy and Rehabilitation services department at Children’s
  Healthcare of Atlanta.

Incentives from WM foundation
           Incentives from the Walmart Foundation are BACK!

Incentives for stores will be as follows:
Walmart: Total of 12 winning locations, $10,000 donation/each

Sam’s Club: Total of 10 winning locations, $10,000 donation/each

Facilities that reach the goal amount and have the highest increase over
that goal/last year’s fundraising will be deemed a winning facility.

The money will be sent directly to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital
in the form of a grant check. Winners will be announced within two weeks
of the close of the campaign.

 • Establish a Campaign Leader
   - Meet with Hospital
   - Set Goal ($17,000 for Walmart;
   $11,000 for Sam’s Club or 5% Above last
   year)
   - Decide on weekly fundraiser outside register fundraising
   - Develop a team communication plan
   - Develop an associate milestone
     recognition plan

-What if I challenged my fellow associates to collect $100 each?
(How much would that be from my store? At least $30,000?)
-What if our store raised $25,000 for 25 years? (That would raise
$2.6 Million dollars for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta!!!)
-What if I helped raise a billion dollars a year? (Do I want to be a
part of something bigger than myself?)
-What if the research done at Children’s Miracle Network
Hospitals cured childhood cancer, diabetes, or sickle cell? (Think
of how many children would never set foot into a hospital with
those diseases)
-What if we helped fund equipment that saved lives every day?

Campaign Kits Missing Kits or supplemental items Walmart Foundation Hotline – Call from INSIDE a Walmart or Sam’s Club 800-530-9925 • Kits will arrive in stores around Aprill 27th or 28th • Kits for both Walmart and Sam’s Club will arrive by FedEx or UPS – CMN will have tracking numbers to help with delivery

Campaign Information Register Fundraising New Register Prompt – when prompted the members/customers may want to know: Where do the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals donations go? • Answer: Our funds go to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta How are the funds used? • Answers: The funds will buy new equipment needed in the physical therapy and Rehabilitation services department at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

  • 7. Incentives from WM foundation Incentives from the Walmart Foundation are BACK! Incentives for stores will be as follows: Walmart: Total of 12 winning locations, $10,000 donation/each Sam’s Club: Total of 10 winning locations, $10,000 donation/each Facilities that reach the goal amount and have the highest increase over that goal/last year’s fundraising will be deemed a winning facility. The money will be sent directly to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in the form of a grant check. Winners will be announced within two weeks of the close of the campaign.   • 11. What if… -What if I asked every customer? (what difference could I make for families that NEED my help?) -What if I challenged my fellow associates to collect $100 each? (How much would that be from my store? At least $30,000?) -What if our store raised $25,000 for 25 years? (That would raise $2.6 Million dollars for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta!!!) -What if I helped raise a billion dollars a year? (Do I want to be a part of something bigger than myself?) -What if the research done at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals cured childhood cancer, diabetes, or sickle cell? (Think of how many children would never set foot into a hospital with those diseases) -What if we helped fund equipment that saved lives every day? Together we can!

Editor's Notes

  1. Friendly reminder that Children’s Miracle Network fundraising is the only Home Office approved in-store fundraiser that Walmart and Sam’s Club participate in each year. CMN is the only national register fundraising campaign WM and SC take part in each year, and the goal for this year’s campaign is $25 Million – to go with the 25 th anniversary partnership between WM and CMN. Our job is to execute the campaign to the best of our ability. No only does aligning with CMN help families in need in all of Georgia, but it helps drive business to your stores. CMNH nationally advertises the May campaign, and CHOA locally sends out press releases and social media posts. By being ambassadors to CHOA in the community, your stores are recognized as loyal and charitable partners. The following information will be about how your store can implement the campaign and reach the $1.8 million local goal.
  2. CMN will also be mailing some to your location, but do not rely on these to be ready for the campaign – I do not know when I will get the download from the national CMN office.
  3. This does not take place of the ask, this is supplemental and should HELP with the ask. Do not rely on the display alone at the register – your cashiers will have to make the ask before they can complete the transaction. Hopefully the return from this new campaign initiative will be more funds raised for CMN. Make sure cashiers are educated on the 4 different donating options (Barcodes) before the campaign. Make sure your new employees are engaged with the campaign and understand the importunacy of the ask.
  4. Associate Campaign Fundraising – get creative Celebrate 25 years Assign 1 week or 1 day to managers or departments Challenges, food, tournaments, contests. Involve business neighbors, friends family Year round non-register fundraising. Plan for the year
