Children get their teeth at different times, but the first tooth usually appears between six and ten months. Dentists advised that teeth and gum care should begin even before the first tooth erupts.
It is vital to keep your baby’s teeth and gums clean and healthy because it holds the spaces open for the permanent teeth to come in. Kids ages two or three are more susceptible to tooth decay or cavities because of an abundance of sugar in their food and drinks.
Dental care for your kids is essential to overall health. In children, the mouth should be cleaned even before the tooth emerges. And though they will still have their baby teeth, it must be well taken care of because it helps your child speak and promotes alignment of teeth.
Dental caries or cavities are also known as tooth decay. It is one of the most prevalent and widespread persistent diseases today, but these are also preventable.
When you eat certain foods, the bacteria on your teeth break them and produce acid that can seriously damage your tooth enamel. Foods that can cause bacteria when left on the teeth include carbohydrates, starch, and sugar such as milk, soda, cake, fruit juices, cereals, and bread. The combination of bacteria, food, acid, and saliva forms a plaque that sticks to the teeth and causes cavities over time.
Your child’s well-being is your biggest concern, and their oral hygiene is part of their overall health.
As kids grow up, their dental hygiene should grow with them. Primary teeth are all present at the age of three, and though it does not stick for too long, taking care of them should also be a priority. After all, cavities and tooth decay develop when children are not abiding proper oral care.
Healthy teeth are essential for your child’s overall health. Encourage your child to have proper oral care as early as possible because this will aid in a healthy lifetime of smiles. Keeping kids cavity-free is the ultimate goal.
Understanding the normal cycle of your child’s teeth eruption and falling out will help you make sure that their dental health is right where it should be. Eruption refers to the tooth breaking through the gum line. In babies, the eruption is also called teething. The timing of tooth eruption is different from one child to another. We don’t usually think of a newborn as having teeth. The 20 “baby” or primary teeth are almost entirely formed at birth, hidden from our view in an infant’s jawbones. The primary or baby teeth gradually erupt during the first 2 ½ years of life.
Your child's diet plays an important role in their dental health. Frequent snacking on sugary or acidic foods and drinks increases the risk of cavities as it allows sugars to remain on the teeth for a long period of time. It is best to limit these types of snacks and drinks to mealtimes only, and to encourage your child to brush their teeth twice per day with fluoride toothpaste to reduce their risk of cavities.
When sick with a cold or flu, it's important to continue good oral hygiene to prevent further health issues. Be sure to brush teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and rinse your mouth with warm salt water to soothe a sore throat and reduce bacteria and viruses in the mouth. See your dentist if symptoms don't improve after a week to ensure no complications have developed from being unable to properly clean your mouth while ill.
Breastfeeding is one of the significant decisions every mother should make. It is also one of the essential activities during infancy until childhood, as it creates a special bond between mother and child.
Breastfeeding and human milk are the ideal choices for every baby. The process of breastfeeding alone plays a significant role in a child’s health as it can help boost the immune system, balance nutrition, fight infections, and reduce the risk of allergies and chronic diseases. It is also beneficial to maternal health as it lowers the risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer, obesity, osteoporosis, and better physiologic postpartum recovery.
Any person with dental pain or infection requires dental treatment at any age. Sometimes, young children may need general anesthesia or sedation for the pediatric dentist to finish the treatment. Anesthesia is administered before the procedure to help the patient alleviate the pain or sedate a nervous or anxious patient. Sedation may also become necessary when behavioral management techniques such as tell show-do, positive reinforcement, distraction, and parental presence are insufficient.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
