Flat Plan - Cd Cover 3
1. Idea
This idea was my fifth idea overall for the CD Cover of More Than This song, but after discussing with
my Mum about ideas, I decided that I should use this as my final design but create something
different, maybe through changing the text style.

2. Idea One

Band Name
Album Name
This is my first idea, as there are four members to the band: New York Summer I decided to create
four boots all different colours to show each band member. Unfortunately, the snow had gone and
also we’d taken down the lights on the tree (see top left-hand corner) which would change the
lighting of the cover.
3. The reason why I would have changed the photo and retaken it to show the four different types of
shoes was to show a better cover which was personal to the band itself. This would then show the
interaction of the band in the cover as well as in the songs that they sing which would then hopefully
compliment each other and draw people in.
Idea Two

4. Above is the original first cover; however I’ve moved the text more towards the tree and put them
together to make it look and appeal better. I’ve decided to leave the previous idea behind as I would
have liked to retake the shot which is impossible now the snow is clearing and the lights have been
taken down – although I do really like this idea for the cover.
Idea Three

5. Above is the my idea three this shows exactly the same as the one above except I’ve decided to
change the style of text as it looks better like it is above that it was above this one. It also looks
smaller allowing you to concentrate on the image behind but still allowing you to see the album name
and band name.
This is my final design for the front cover, towards the digipak (CD/DVD package).
I’ve shown a flat plan and the actual design that I created on Photoshop. As you can see, the image
that I’ve used was taken by me this has been added to Photoshop and then I decided to add some
white text, two different styles and colours to show which one is the band name and which one is the
album name.
