Load and performance testing aims to determine whether software meets speed, scalability and stability requirements under expected workloads. Old school performance testing tools like Apache JMeter are complex and heavy and are not well aligned with the modern QA automation and continuous integration trends.
In this talk Svetlin presents and demonstrates the "k6 framework" - a modern open-source load testing tool, which describes the load tests as JavaScript code. The k6 tool is very powerful, high-performance and developer-friendly. It allows load testing of Web apps and APIs, accessed through the HTTP protocol.
Svetlin also demonstrates how to install and use k6, how to run its test recorder, how to edit the recorded scripts at the k6 cloud and how to write k6 scripts in JavaScript (execute HTTP requests, write checks, define thresholds), and execute the scripts with certain number of virtual users for certain duration.

Since then the infrastructure has changed a lot, the "Agile infrastructure" project evolved is a series of tools and softwares that currently allow more than 10.000 nodes to be configured and provisioned following custom definitions.
Foreman, Git, Openstack and our homemade librarian Jens are only a few of the tools that will be described during the talk, that aims to give an overview about the current workflow for machines lifecycle at CERN.
This talk will cover how Puppet allows us to deal with several hundred of installations a day and, at the same time, provide highly customizable machine configurations for service owners.

Presentation Overview: When trying to debug software problems it's critical to be able to reproduce the original situation, and Puppet Enterprise is no exception to this. The Puppet Labs support team needs a way to rapidly reproduce customer issues across a wide range of operating systems and various versions of Puppet Enterprise. Oscar is a set of Vagrant plugins that handles machine provisioning and configuration to install Puppet Enterprise. It's designed to make building a Puppet Enterprise as simple as running `vagrant up`. While Oscar was originally built for supporting Puppet Enterprise, it provides a general platform for developing and testing against Puppet Enterprise. This talk will go over the history of Oscar, the current state, how it's used, and where to get it.
Speaker Bio: Adrien Thebo has been in the Operations/Software development field since 2005, starting at small IT shop in Boise, Idaho. He started at Puppet Labs in 2011 on the Operations team, and used Puppet to run the Puppet Labs infrastructure. In 2013 he transferred to the Community platform team, working with contributors to merge their contributions in Puppet Core. He develops and maintains a number of Puppet modules and tools around Puppet, and when he's not writing code for Puppet then he's probably blogging about it.
Pharo VM Performance
This document summarizes the history and future plans for optimizations to the Pharo virtual machine (VM). It discusses past improvements like Spur in Pharo 5 that provided 1.8x faster performance. Presentation Overview: When trying to debug software problems it's critical to be able to reproduce the original situation, and Puppet Enterprise is no exception to this. The Puppet Labs support team needs a way to rapidly reproduce customer issues across a wide range of operating systems and various versions of Puppet Enterprise. Oscar is a set of Vagrant plugins that handles machine provisioning and configuration to install Puppet Enterprise. It's designed to make building a Puppet Enterprise as simple as running `vagrant up`. While Oscar was originally built for supporting Puppet Enterprise, it provides a general platform for developing and testing against Puppet Enterprise. This talk will go over the history of Oscar, the current state, how it's used, and where to get it.
Speaker Bio: Adrien Thebo has been in the Operations/Software development field since 2005, starting at small IT shop in Boise, Idaho. He started at Puppet Labs in 2011 on the Operations team, and used Puppet to run the Puppet Labs infrastructure. In 2013 he transferred to the Community platform team, working with contributors to merge their contributions in Puppet Core. He develops and maintains a number of Puppet modules and tools around Puppet, and when he's not writing code for Puppet then he's probably blogging about it.

In this session I will present best practices of how open source tools (used in the DevOps and security communities) can be properly chained together to form a framework that can - as part of an agile software development CI chain - perform automated checking of certain security aspects. This does not remove the requirement for manual pentests, but tries to automate early security feedback to developers.
Based on my experience of applying SecDevOps techniques to projects, I will present the glue steps required on every commit and at nightly builds to achieve different levels of depth in automated security testing during the CI workflow.
I will conclude with a "SecDevOps Maturity Model" of different stages of automated security testing and present concrete examples of how to achieve each stage with open source security tools.

How we realized SOA by Python at PyCon JP 2015

Splunk: Forward me the REST of those shells
Splunk forwarders were used to gain initial access to a network by exploiting their default credentials and REST API. This allowed deploying a malicious app that provided a shell. The shell was then used to pillage other systems by abusing credentials and data found in Chef scripts and GitHub repositories. Mitigations include changing default credentials, disabling the REST API on forwarders, improving logging and monitoring for unusual app deployments, using TLS for deployment server communications, and running Splunk in a less privileged manner.
Cloudstack Continuous Delivery

Automating Post Exploitation with PowerShell
As organizations assess the security of their information systems, the need for automation has become more and more apparent. Not only are organizations attempting to automate their assessments, the need is becoming more pressing to perform assessments centrally against large numbers of enterprise systems. Penetration testers can use this automation to make their post-exploitation efforts more thorough, repeatable, and efficient. Defenders need to understand the techniques attackers are using once an initial compromise has occurred so they can build defenses to stop the attacks. Microsoft's PowerShell scripting language has become the defacto standard for many organizations looking to perform this level of distributed automation. In this presentation James Tarala, of Enclave Security, will describe to students the enterprise capabilities PowerShell offers and show practical examples of how PowerShell can be used to perform large scale penetration tests of Microsoft Windows systems.
