7. Main recommendations from external advisors
§ Simplification - make FIWARE easier to understand
• Harmonize and simplify the web page
• Simple messages at the beginning of the web site with dedicated approaches for
developers, companies and end users
§ Have a convincing elevator pitch for each of the target groups
§ Show faces: list of people in the BoD, the Foundation and the TSC – make it easy to
contact this people
§ Analyse additional verticals to focus on like Smart Energy
§ Invest in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) / optimize key words and Google results
§ It is a moment of big opportunities

• Using the actual momentum to present the improved action plan for
FIWARE-Next
• Several important decisions were approved during the Board of Directors meeting
on May 7th, 2018 in Porto:
• Roberto Di Cosmo and Jean-Charles Hourcade to bring external advise
until action plan is completed
• Enter in the Smart Energy sector in agreement with DG Energy and
Eon Energy Research Center at RWTH Aachen University
• The TSC is working on implementing Data Usage Control in FIWARE
aligned with IDS requirements with a first release by end of 2018
