9. iMan Norte Hub
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
Mission:
The mission of the Digital Innovation Hub for Customer-Driven Manufacturing @ Norte (iMan Norte Hub) is
to foster the digital transformation of manufacturing companies of the Northern Region of Portugal (Norte)
and to nurture the respective innovation ecosystem.
Objectives:
• Facilitate and foster manufacturing technology adoption and diffusion in the areas of cyber-physical
production systems and robotics.
• Improve the collaboration in the ecosystem by linking research institutions, industrial technological
centers, industrial associations, incubators, science and technology parks, industrial companies, technology
companies, training institutions, and government agencies.
• Focus on the main industrial sectors of the region: footwear, textile and clothing, agro-food, forestry, metal
working and machinery, and automotive parts.

10. iMan Norte Hub Services
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
• Matchmaking: Support companies in suppliers and partners search, as well as formation of
consortia
• Including: access to infrastructures, competencies, education, training, mentoring and
access to financing sources
• Maturity assessment, feasibility studies and definition of implementation roadmaps
• Support in technology selection and project management
• Promote the implementation of demonstration projects
• Promote the development of innovative solutions
• Promote de development of studies and roadmaps
• Promote training and acceleration programs for Startups
• Participate in international events related with Digital Innovation Hubs and the digitalisation

• Host organization: PRODUTECH
• Coordinating entities: PRODUTECH, INESC TEC, UPTEC, CATIM, CITEVE, CTCP, CTCOR. The
coordinating entities are responsible for setting up the Hub management team.
• Access points: coordinating entities and other entities that may be selected, namely competence
centers, business associations, incubators and science and technology parks.
• Competence centers: Research and development centers, universities and technological centers
• Suppliers of technology and services: Suppliers of production technologies, including information
systems, equipment, automation, robotics, etc. and companies providing consulting and
engineering services.
• Advisory board: composed of technological specialists, industrial companies, and government
entities.

15. Hub Access Points
ü The Hub Access Points - One-stop-shops - allow the dissemination and access to the services
offered by the Hub
ü Access Points have a common image
ü Access Points ensure a channel of interaction with the recipient companies, being able to respond
to the requests of their competence and referring the other cases to specialized entities
ü Technological centers and business associations are natural access points for companies of each
sector
ü INESC TEC and Technology Centers are access points specialized in information systems, cyber-
physical and robotics
ü UPTEC, incubators and science and technology parks are specialized access point to support the
launch and development of new companies
ü More access points may be selected as long as they meet the above requirements
