Piranhas are toothfish native to South American rivers that were observed in large schools tearing apart a cow pushed into the water. They range in color and can live over 20 years, using their acute sense of smell and razor-sharp teeth to ambush prey in groups of up to 1,000. While they typically eat insects, worms and carrion, they very rarely attack humans.
