GC ratio calculation ● DNA has four “letters” (“bases”): A, C, G, T ● GC ratio is the: ratio of Gs and Cs, compared to As and Ts. ● Sequences are stored in ASCII text files, with around 80 characters per line. ● Header lines in the file start with “>” and should be skipped. ● Unknown bases are denoted with “N”.
